Epic Gnomedex Shirt is Epic

During Gnomedex, we always have some nifty giveaways thanks to our awesome array of sponsors. When I ran across Rick Read and read his T-shirt, I knew he deserved a prize. This shirt is so epic that it needs no explanation. I only wish I had about a hundred prizes to give him.

What is the best shirt saying you’ve ever come across?

Are You Wearing Jinx?

I love to wear clothes – especially if they are free t shirts. Jinx has a new batch of shirts coming out in the very near future, and sent several of them to me to preview. You cannot really review a shirt, can you? I can tell you how cool it looks, or how comfy it is. All I can do, though, is show them off and tell you where to go to grab some for yourself.

The new summer 2010 line of shirts is pretty sweet. Some of them have skulls, of course. One has a robot on it, and another says something about “8-Bit,” which I happen to love. I listen to 8-Bit music as often as I can and even own a tie that will go perfectly with this tee!

If you happen to be a really great designer, email me and we’ll talk about creating a custom shirt for the live stream.

All Search Terms Should be Treated Equally

Religion is a touchy subject for many, and Google apparently knows that. If you Google the words Christianity is, you’ll see some interesting results. The second one asks “Is Christianity Absurd?”, while a few results down, you’ll see a proclamation of “Christianity is Stupid”. This holds true for many different religions when you Google the same types of phrases.

However, you won’t see sites or results like this when you search for things related to Islam. Google is apparently blocking all search suggestions like this for Islam, but why? Are they removing any chances of someone being offended by a search suggestion? Are they covering their proverbial rear ends?

Have we really reached a stage where search results have to be filtered, due to the fear that someone might be offended enough to start a war? Do we need to censor virtually everything we say and do in order to keep the peace in this World? What are your thoughts?

If I’m not wearing a t-shirt, I’m usually wishing I was wearing a t-shirt. I love t-shirts. For my annual tech conference headed into its ninth year (Gnomedex), we’re producing a very special t-shirt in conjunction with J!NX! This is going to be a special edition t-shirt which all conference attendees will receive – but even if you’re not coming to Gnomedex, you’ll be able to order the t-shirt online. Soon thereafter, I’ll be working on a special LIMITED EDITION SIGNATURE SERIES of t-shirts with J!NX – yes, with my signature. 🙂 Stay tuned!

Where Do You Buy T-Shirts for Geeks?

I do love T-Shirts. I wear one pretty much every day. I got a new set of them recently, and have worn a few of them in previous videos. You might want to pay attention, because I’m about to tell you where you can get them! They are done by J!nx.

What is J!nx, you ask? It’s a clothing company for Gamers and Geeks! Where else should you get all your gear, if not from a store that caters specifically to you?

The shirts are very soft. I’m all about comfort – and style! – and J!nx certainly fits the bill with both. I really like the look of these. I love the colors, as well. They’re truly vibrant – and very different than what you can get in any store.

For comfort and style – at an excellent price – that Geeks will love, how can you NOT order a few for yourself?

Wouldn’t You Like to Have Your Own Personal Soundtrack?

Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed

Have you ever wanted to have your own personal soundtrack? The problem is, it’s not practical to carry speakers with you wherever you go. Thankfully, the great folks at ThinkGeek created this very cool sountrack tshirt! You can play any of the sounds embedded in the shirt, or add your own!

The Personal Soundtrack Shirt is an awesome wearable audio solution that features a speaker embedded right in the front of the shirt! With the push of a button on the remote, you get music or sound effects that will be appropriate for any given situation. Play anything from a drum roll to a cat call.

If you don’t like the built-in sounds, it’s no problem. Load your favorite MP3 files onto an SD memory card, and pop it into the shirt. The remote has buttons from 1 to 20, and each can be used to play a different sound. For example, name your favorite witch cackle as 03.mp3 and it will play when you push the ‘3’ button on the remote.

For only about $40.00, this shirt is definitely worth the cost. Walk around and advertise your style while blasting sound from your shirt! How cool is that, anyway?

Want a WiFi T-shirt?

Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed

Jeff was streaming live for me this morning, and I happened to notice a very cool T-shirt he was wearing. It’s definitely the geekiest T-shirt on the planet. I had to get him on a video to show it off.

This T-shirt is just the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time. Unfortunately, I don’t think Ponzi will let me wear one out in public. But a guy can dream, right?

The Wi-Fi Detector Shirt from ThinkGeek is a hot new commodity. In their own words:

Here at ThinkGeek we’re pretty lazy when it comes to technology. We expect our gadgets to do all the busywork while we focus on the high level important tasks like reading blogs. That’s why we hate to have to crack open our laptops just to see if there is any wi-fi internet access about… and keychain wi-fi detectors, we would have to actually remove them from our pockets to look at them. But now thanks to the ingenious ThinkGeek robot monkeys you can display the current wi-fi signal strength to yourself and everyone around you with this stylish Wi-Fi Detector Shirt. The glowing bars on the front of the shirt dynamically change as the surrounding wi-fi signal strength fluctuates. Finally you can get the attention you deserve as others bow to you as their reverential wi-fi god, while geeky chicks swoon at your presence. You can thank us later.

According to Jeff, Mandy’s mom saw the T-shirt on the television news. She showed it to Mandy, who then ordered one for herself and one for Jeff. Jeff put his on as soon as it arrived in the mail to show it off. If you see in the video, he has five bars lit up on either side of the shirt. That means he is near a very strong wireless signal. He said when he went to his kitchen for a snack, the number of bars on the shirt decreased.

The shirt takes three AAA batteries, and velcro’s to the shirt. You simply take it off in order to wash the shirt. While it’s not the most comfortable thing you’ll ever wear, it’s quite possibly the coolest.

I wonder what other geeky things I could velcro to a T-shirt?
