YouTube Comments are Worthless
Seriously. Why do I even bother accepting (or reading) comments on YouTube? The other day, someone accused me of doing nothing but advertising for other companies – but they asserted this accusation for the video in which I was doing nothing but throwing a snowball into the camera’s lens. WTF?! Today, this happened:

I thought there was a way to weed out the useless comments. Maybe not, I myself don’t really use youtube that often. If they don’t like you or your videos why would they even make a post about it? I personally enjoy listening to your chatter and reading your blogs daily. I say keep up the good work.

Chris, I’ve noticed that some people are always criticizing you in their YouTube comments.
I suggest you continue to ignore them.
Or you could do what I do. Delete the messages and block the users.
Of course one guy does this to me every week, and keeps coming back with a new name.

You’re right of course. I was chatting on MSN about World in Conflict, so I decided to watch the whitesnake video. All the comments are now marked as spam :p

Eh. Youtube comments are kind of the bottom of the barrel for a good part. Its like all the “look mom! Im using the Internet!” crowd congregates in high concentration there.
Youtube = modern day TV
Couch potatoes arent always the most socially smart creatures.
Oh, as for your vids getting attacked, I been there. There is a huge discussion about my *ahem, chuckle* weight problem* on my Krystal Workout video.

I think he was implying that you are a stoner…
Or that you love Gouda cheese. Which is worse than Douche Bag.

I’ve been called worse on youtube. I’ve received racial and ethnic slurs and those pretty much forced me to moderate my comments and even pull a few of my videos. Some people on Youtube really are dutchbags LOL!

What?! You’ve been on how long?
Don’t you realize that you aren’t a true “Youtubian” unless you’ve had a few stupid hater’s comments?
In all seriousness, “haterz” come in waves. You’ll be cruising along just fine with all kinds of decent comments and then – Bam! – you are hit with a lot of bad ones. I wonder if some are actually just one person who posts from different profiles, or it’s just a bunch of friends who get together to blast you with stupidity, thinking that they are actually funny.

I totally agree with Chris on this one all I see on Youtube as far as comments go are rude people I have seen some of the bad ones about Chris on his videos and I usually leave a good comment and tell the others to stop with the rude comments (liked they would listen to me anyways heh.) One of my online friends has MD and Diabetes and I can’t believe what some of the rude people on Youtube say in their comments it’s really sad to see.

Youtube comments are as useful as used toilet paper. Lock them out and embed your Youtube link into a blog page elsewhere where the useful discussion can happen. Seems to work pretty well for the microprocessor and electronic development discussion blogs I go to. The average Youtube commenter has very little to contribute intellectually to this planet so I don’t even bother scrolling the page to view them.

Of course, nothing interesting or important ever happens on the internet.

Nobody knows how to spell… OR use grammar… on the internet. Nor do they know how to respect opinions. :P So I just figure, ‘Whoever is acting like a total jerk on YouTube today is just having a bad day or something… they can’t help it.”

It looks like we are going back to “publishers or video posted should rule.” era. I look into comments all the time for different opinions. The Comments field gives rights to the viewers. They belongs to the viewers, not the owners or publishers of the post. Youtube is going down and is becoming frauds and blocks for free flow of information. We should assert Comments are belong to the viewers. It is a right for the Internet public. We can set limits but grammar or language should not be the crucial factors.
