Interesting shell… I wouldn't use it as it is. They mention that the shell that is being used right now makes u hurry, this one wouldn't have you hurrying, it would just slow you down.
IMHO, I think that some drastic changes would have to happen before this 3d shell would work better than the current shell.

uh…no. I almost dropped my iced tea when I read “Microsoft is the best”. I don't think I've ever heard that particular sentence. It seemed very S-L-O-W. Multiple desktops is a better idea. By the way, Linux has had multiple desktops(up to 8 I believe) for years now. XP hogs resources as it is…

Hmmm…now this is interesting. Maybe I'm just used to the “Way Things Have Always Been” (for me, at least), but that interface seems really time consuming. I tend to have a bad memory. I lose things easily. I can honestly imagine myself losing a program in that 3D environment. Also, having to back up and walk around to find what I was working on also seems a little…well, bothersome. If I had the skill to write a shell (one day, I hope to!), I think it that the most useful feature I would put in it would be roughly analagous to Winamps “Jump to File” function found under the J key. A list of open programs (with full Title Bar) text would pop up. You could just type words in the title bar, and the shell would narrow down the list. This would help with taskbar clutter…for me at least. Maybe it's just because I'm a power user, but an ideal shell for me would be one where I have very easy access to a commandline. “Win-R, cmd” is pretty fast, but it could be more integrated into the shell. I'm happiest when I'm typing…
In conclusion, yes, I would consider using this 3D shell. But I'd probably stop using it if it's as big as a hassle ast he video looks.

Thanks for the info. Christine. I'm not using links when I post comments for security purposes, don't know if I may do that or not, if not, please tell me :) I'm a university student with an undecided major (E-Business or Pre-Law.) I love'm both, that's the problem LOL! By the way, does Pirillo actually read these comments???????? If so, I would definitely use that desktop enviro. on a future computer.

oh god! no! NO! those things drive me crazy. ryan's right – it will chew your resources and yiu'll realize that…hey! why the hell do i need this? winxp powertoys (if you have them) has a multiple desktop thing. need multiple desktops? use that and not this.

Yeah! I was wondering when they were gonna do something like this for Windows. I love the feature in Solaris. Maybe they should just have like a sidebar that pops out when you put your mouse over it. Then you can choose a different desktop from there without going through all the 3D stuff. Quicker and easier.
