Would You Like to Win an HP Laptop?

Anne, Karen, and their teams from HP were an awesome addition to the Gnomedex sponsor roster last year. They were on-site with several of their products – and even gave away many things! I was fortunate to receive a TouchSmart from them during this time period, to review and use for myself. Even though I’m a Mac guy at heart, I have to admit I really love using the TouchSmart whenever I need to be on Windows. It runs beautifully, and has never given me any issues at all. It’s a powerhouse of a machine, honestly. I can convert videos while searching on the Internet, having multiple other programs open and even running a Skype conference all at once. There is no “lag”, like you would find on many systems while trying to do all of these things. And, of course, you can’t beat the sheer fun (and yes – functionality!) of using the actual Touch features! It’s not just me who loves this machine. My assistant, Kat, won a TouchSmart after the conference was over. She has used hers ever since as her primary machine, and is quite happy! HP continued with a presence this year at Gnomedex, too!

So why am I waxing poetic about HP and their products? I’m glad you asked! Not only were they awesome to work with during Gnomedex last year, they continue to support our community to this day. They’ve come up with an excellent new contest – just for all of you reading out there! You have a chance to win for yourself a brand-new HP Pavilion dv6t series laptop! Entering is so simple, you won’t even believe it. All you have to do is leave a follow-up comment on this blog post, (including your email address!) talking about HP. You can tell us what HP products you own – or have owned. You can talk about the ones you’d like to own. It doesn’t matter, so long as your comment talks about an HP product or service. Any comments which simply state things like “I want to win the HP laptop” will be disqualified. Put some effort into it! You should pore over the contest rules prior to entering, though. The contest is open now, and ends at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2009. The winner will be notified via email within three days of that date, provided they are proven to have a valid entry (as described above).

Not only is HP giving away a laptop, they also have cooked up an awesome deal for you to take advantage of! Take 30% off of the purchase of a customized HP Pavilion Notebook PC, configured at $1199.00 or greater at the HP Home and Home Office Store. Use coupon code: NBR49875. The offer excludes the HP HDX16t, HP Minis and all Compaq models. The offer is limited to the first 1800 coupons redeemed, and will become void after that. Only 1 redemption per person or address is allowed. The coupon is not valid with other promotions and restrictions apply. For complete conditions, see Coupon Information in the Customer Service section.

I gotta thank everyone at HP for their continued support, and all of the opportunities they keep bringing to our community. Good luck to everyone who chooses to enter!

  1. When I think of HP, I think of one thing — HP Laserjet printers. I’ve printed out more documents on HP Laserjets than any other printer. Still have a big old one here in the house. Darned thing never lets me down, rarely gets jammed, and is probably one of the most reliable pieces of technology I’ve used. Go Laserjet!

  2. My first computer was an HP pavilion back in the day. I loved the computer so much that I purchased them for my mother and brother to use as well. I really loved their support and how long the computers lasted. I never really had a problem with the HP computers I owned. I would love to try out this touchsmart. I have had bad luck with computers since I have had custom pc’s built since I owned my HP. I wish I could go back to a decent computer like the HP touchsmart.

  3. I have had 2 HP Printers and I bought my mom a HP desktop computer 4 years ago, I really want a Laptop, Every time I see people with an HP at school or at the Library I get jealous. :-/

  4. I used to work with HP / Compaq servers for all types of apps. They were the most rock-solid units in our data-center. Keep it up HP

  5. I would love to win a HP Notebook, I’ve been looking for something to run linux on for a while now, and my current laptop lacks the necessary disc space. This would definitely allow to learn the world of linux.

  6. My experiences thus far with HP have been great. I had (still have) an old HP Pavilion 712a which I used for some time. Earlier on this year I upgraded to something a bit more up-to-date, but I am still using the monitor I got with it. The HP Pavilion mx70. Its has great colour and quality compared to any of the ohtre monitors I own. My father also had a few HP laptops as company computers and I was very impressed by them.

  7. Love HP Laser Printers – you have to get rid of them before they quit. Rock solid performers for the last 20 years of my PC Printing. I use 3 in my home today – the oldest now 8 years old and still printing!

  8. Have been a sold out Dell user for years and have always used their high end laptops for my GIS work which is extremely processor and video card intensive as I work with huge amounts of crime and call for service data in my mapping world. Would love to see how an HP stacks up to the Dell I am currently using. Maybe we can switch to HP for all our computer needs.

  9. I own and have kept two HP printers (they are the best IMHO). It is worth the price for the ink cartridges (I don’t remember the model numbers but I do have them around here somewhere). And I had a refurbished HP PC that ran Windows 98 with an AMD processor that looked like a modern day high-powered graphics card (remember those?). Of course I still work on my dad’s HP pc with Windows Vista Home Premium, and it works good so far (my dad loves to load up his PC with stuff that makes it easier for him to use). And my dad uses RealPlayer to download Flash videos to his HP PC.

He only got the HP PC because I recommended to him that HP has great tech support and their software is without par (I didn’t really tell him that last part, but I wish I would’ve). Now for the rest of the story. Just in case this is picked for that PC you are giving away, you have my email address. It’s been a long time since I have won anything.

  10. I’ve never owned owned an HP computer before, but I have to say their offerings in recent years seem very slick and like a great value compared to other companies. I haven’t owned a laptop in a long time and I’d say I’m in need of an upgrade from my 8300 Dimension desktop.

  11. I just wrote a long text about HP here, but an error came up and all data was gone TT_TT

    So here’s the summary

I’ve had a HP pavillion laptop myself, it was very strong while gaming and it lasted long for my hardcore usage of it.
The battery was also very good, it lasted long, even while gaming.
So far i’ve also never seen a cheap HP, not in the bad way, but i mean the parts are just always good enough to come out better than other random PC’s.
Also the printers and so on are n°1 for me, never thought about picking another brand.

HP FTW ! (extreme summary :D)

  12. I think that the best feature that HP laptops would have is the tablet feature. As well, I’m in love with the beauty of the HP Mini. I personally use a Mac, but I’m a big fan of Windows 7 as well. Looking forward to getting an HP Mini in the future.

  13. I actually remember my old HP pda as being the most solid piece of mobile equipment I’ve ever had. It just worked.. like all the time, no problems what so ever, I really miss that…

  14. I’d love to have a TouchSmart, they sound really neat, although I don’t know where I’d put it…it would take some major re-arranging of my room, lol. I’ve always used HP printers though and they’ve always been reliable and user-friendly. I’ve never even had any problems with drivers or networking with their printers (though I’m lucky with drivers anyway). When I think about printers, HP is the name that comes to mind. My roommate owns I think an earlier model of the laptop to be given away and it seems to be a solid machine (I would’ve heard about it if she had had any problems with it, heh).

  15. While I prefer to build my own computers, for desktops at least, HP’s laptops seem to be getting good reviews and feedback, and I’m looking for a replacement for my Alienware. The only HP computer I’ve had was our family’s 3rd desktop computer, other than that, I have an HP scanner/printer that works pretty well, so I don’t have a whole lot to say.

  16. I haven’t had the chance to own an HP computer yet. I have owned one of their printers though and it worked beautifully! My parents took a leap last month and bought a brand new computer and it is an HP….I just wish my Mom and Dad weren’t so afraid of technology; they barely touch it, let alone turn it on. But I’m working with them. It’s a process.

  17. This is so cool! HP has been my computer company for eight years since I got my first laptop in high school.

My second HP was a tower in the fall of 2003 which survived three years, two lightning strikes, and four different states/moves.

I’m even writing in on one right now! It’s taken quite a lot of beatings but it’s still doing just fine. It’s a Pavilion dv1000 that keeps on chugging no matter what I throw at it. I hope to get two or three more years out of it with another hard drive.

I so hope I get picked. I just love HP!

  18. HP ,being the very first system I had was one of the biggest help to starting this crazy Journey of technology. Ever since I have been amazed at the technology HP has included in their machines. The first point and shoot camera was an HP and I still use it from time to time. I’ve also Used and had a number of Printers and 3 in 1 Printers made by HP.

  19. Through the years I have owned numerous HP products, and I have to say I have never been disappointed by any of them. Printers have been the bulk of the HP products I have owned, and I’m still using 4 printers that are over 4 years old now. I especially like my PSC 2355 AIO. It is still printing crisp color prints just like the day I bought it. I also like my HP LaserJet 1300 networked laser printer. It is truly a workhorse for me. I have only had one desktop HP unit. It is still running after several years and several OS rebuilds. It is a Pavilion A1007. I have always like HP products; they are quality-built and have one of the best warranties around.

  20. awesome, well what can i say, hp touchsmart is awesome, it really is, though it really hasn’t got enough attention here in Australia. Chris since your a mac guy like me, don’t you think apple might do something similar to this??

  21. My desk top is consuming it’s last tiniest morsel of ram. Even the pixels have been munched on due to starvation.
Please help me give a descent buriel to my faithfull companion. Her very last wish is that I find not a replacement for her (she could never be replaced) but just someone to keep me company while she rest in peace watching over me. She did make a last request that my new companion be be named HP in honor of her memory. HP was her favorite. Thank you for your kindest in her hour of need.

  22. I have a friend who has an HP TouchSmart and is using it as their Multimedia Center, attached to their HDTV. It’s an awesome setup for parties, where people can queue up what they’d like next. I want to setup something similar with a wireless keyboard and mouse, so I can enjoy the Internet TV convergence from my couch and possibly cancel my cable TV subscription.

  23. hi! currently i am saving up for a dv3t black laptop, and hopefully a touchsmart in the near future. i love hp products because they give you what you want and theyre not obsenely overpriced. the dv6t series is a very nice line of \notebooks and and have everthing i need and want. i would be honoredto win.thanks for considering me!

  24. HP have always made amazing touch products!

a few years ago I nearly bought one of their lovely tablet come laptops as it would be great for taking notes at college and was fairly small. Before I had time to get it they discontinued the line so with little time to spare bought a macbook, only to find they bring out another one a month later!

Their products just reflect the touch interactivity that is needed by many designers to visualise their creativity in a digital setting without hassle.

HP really thinks about design in a big way – they are what I would consider the Apple of the PC world, everything has a functional purpose and is made to last!

    Just my 2¢

  25. I haven’t used HP computers in a long time since 2000 since then I’ve been bouncing around between different systems but I have to admit that I have fond memories of that old system it never gave me any trouble and had enough power to play any game that I came across…ahh fond memories there playing Command and Conquer Red Alert all night long

  26. HP products are great! I have owned two PC’s from HP and they have both run very nicely. I have been really interested in the new touchscreen computers though, they look very useful!

  27. I’ve looked at those HP’s and it sure would be nice to win won. I was a dell user for a long time, but HP sure seems to have surpassed them in customer service and quality.

  28. I used to own a HP Pavilion 1ghz Celeron, 256mb pc133, and 32mb onboard intel graphics, (not sure what model it was so im just saying some specs) and I actually liked it more than the previously dell computers I used to use. I liked it because, the casing was very nice compared to my other computers. Also, it the was computer i started pc gaming with, first computer I’ve burnt discs with, it was the computer that I had experienced a lot of things with.
One thing I do love about HP products, is that they look really nice. Especially the desktops and notebooks with designs on them. I’ve actually been looking to get a new notebook/desktop but mainly for video editing and gaming. So if I had the money to get a pc from HP, it would be “HP Pavilion Elite e9180t series” due to the fact that the video card is good enough for me to game with, and the 8gb of ram would really help me with loading times for games, and the intel i7 cpu would help me out a lot with gaming and the rendering times of the videos that I would be editing.

  29. In for one, I own a gorgeous yet ten pound with battery Presario. It’s getting a bit long in the tooth. Help please so I can donate this big beautiful laptop to a worthy cause.

  30. I really do love HP printers. I’ve owned an HP Deskjet 3740 for a while now and it’s the first printer to never malfunction on me. Printers from other manufacturers give me a headache because they either jam, do not communicate well with my computers, or break down completely. What’s even better is that the cartridges do not cost an arm and a leg.

  31. My clients and I have never had any trouble printing out of FileMaker Pro to HP b/w laser printers. Xerox & others have had spotty driver issues over the years but not HP.

  32. I currently own 4 HP printers, 2 HP screens, and an HP Desktop that I use as a media center (it works really well!)

  33. I loved my Hp Pavillion laptop z 5200 series it lasted me a good 3 years and I personally enjoy all of hp product lines they seem to last a good while including my hp desktop which also lasted me a good several years before crashing there buildt for ,longetivity I like to say thanks HP

  34. Great contest! I’m on my old faithful HP Paviion zd8000 right now. Love the big screen. It’s been a good laptop for about 4 years but it would be sweet to bring in a new one. ;o)

  35. I used to be a huge HP fan. Seriously. I had, 6 HP Computer’s, (2 home, 3 laptop’s and one at work). I’ve since gone to Dell, but my heart’s always been with HP.

  36. I have owned an HP pavilion desktop for a few years ( a1615.uk) and it has never let me down, seeing me through numerous hardware and software upgrades. The only reason this is no longer my primary machine is a migration to the Mac platform.

  37. I love my hp 7350 printer, not only does it have a great scanner interface the pictures it prints are great.
I just bought my boss a hp laptop, the price beat several others and the specs were just as good.
    I want one myself.

  38. I really like the hp laptop and printers i have owned in the past they always have the same stuff i am looking for in a computer and printer needs i just got a new printer from them and i can’t stop using it for all my homework and I really needed it for school and this hp printer can in hand. The prints look so life like when i print photos on the printer and i would always buy them for a printer again. The computers I have owned about them have been great. So I think that they should keep them coming out with new and easy idea for computer and printers. thank you

  39. Hello! I own a HP printer and can’t stop telling people how good it is. I got it at a amazing price at bestbuy! It’s fast, quiet, and prints color photos photolab quality. And best of all the ink is very cheap. Thanks Chris for this giveaway

  40. I used to own a HP Pavilion Dv6915. I loved everything that the laptop was supposed to be, but it got real sick on me about 4 months in. After I sold it to TigerDirect for credit toward my MSI Wind, I later found out that my problem could have been a battery issue that they were doing a recall for…. I would like to give a HP product another try. I really did like that laptop……

  41. I have owned an HP laptop for about a year and a half, and it has really pulled through. I haven’t had a single problem with it. It does all of the hard “computer maintenance” itself. All I have to do is open the lid and go about my business. I also have owned an HP printer, back when printers had really big bugs, but I still use my HP printer to this day. HP, I must say, has made my life simple.

  42. About a few months ago my girlfriend decided to replace her Dell laptop bc it was a few years old. After careful searching online and comparison we were still unable to find the ideal laptop for her. She is very picky when it comes to design and of course wants a speedy laptop. After about 3-4 weeks into the search she began to express interest in a HP Laptop. I’m not sure the model number all I know is that it has like a bronze carbon fiber look ( really cool). We were looking at the specs and even tested out in store. To be honest, I was surprised. It was well manufactured. Didn’t seem flimsy or cheap. Beatiful screen and even came with a remote. It was a huge upgrade compare to her previous model and way better that what Dell or any other laptop manufactor has. Once she purchased her 1st HP laptop, she quickly fell in love with it and highly recommends HP or any other company. Her best friend just recently purchase an HP laptop. I don’t know the model number but it had the same bronze carbon fiber like finish only with a larger screen (17in) and blu-Ray drive. Her friend purchased it to start her school semester in college. I myself consider myself to be great with computers and their specs and even fixed a few computer problems and troubleshoot thru numerous problems over the years. I myself will buy a laptop with in a year and will definately, no questions asked, purchase a HP laptop. My experience of HP through my girlfriends reports and I actually using her laptop, makes HP the best choice in purchasing a new laptop.

  43. I have a Presario desktop that has run great since the day I got it 3 years ago! I have been in the market/shopping around for a laptop for about a month now trying to find the best deal for the money and both the HP HDX 16-1160US, and the HP Pavilion dv7-1270us have been at the top of my list since I found them. These products seem almost too good to be true. I LOVE HP, and the fact that my Presario still runs so great is what makes me want a new HP laptop even more. Keep up the good work HP and I’ll be getting a new product from you one way or another, if I don’t win this awesome one, I will be buying another awesome one.

  44. Hi to you all,
HP products have been handed down by word of mouth, and I took a leap of faith. My first was a HP Photosmart 735 camera, which was recommended to me, although not as small as the current cameras on the market, the weight of it is easier for me to steady and aim, pictures are awesome.

Secondly, I received a HP Media Center PC for Christmas one year and help choose it. It has never let me down and still running strong with my care.

A few years later and another Christmas, my sister gave me a HP Photosmart C5180 all-in-one printer. This printer (and the PC) have helped me with the “easy to use” features, and proud of them. For years, all I ever owned was a PC that was “handmade”, put together with parts/drives I bought and took to someone to build.

Thirdly, so proud of my equipment, the first of 2009, I was able to purchase a HP Netbook (not expensive, either) which picks up on my Linksys. If and when I go to the hospital or sick in bed, I have something small, with as much ram and space as my PC, to use, or play small screen games.

From someone who began, for years, using only a rebuilt or hand me down PC, I am very proud of my equipment, HP quality, and have recommended it, because I have experience with HP. And for a woman who is 59, I need “easy”, now. My HP’s are my world and I am grateful for the brand and response when I turn everything on.

    Have a blessed one,
    M. Lafitte

  45. I have had HP printers since the hplj and have II’s, III’s IV’s and now have the LJ 2840 Color LaserJet. Great printers that work out of the box. Networks love them and the software is easy to install. I recommend HP to all my friends.

The LJ II and IV are built like Tanks and are still working.

  46. HP has been a central component of what I do through their printer scanner products. I use several, including the HP 3745 Deskjet, HP Officejet Pro 8500 and HP Deskjet 4280.

I call them the old reliable product as they just run without fail.

My next target is to run an HP laptop with Windows 7!

  47. I absolutly LOVE hp !! Even though im only 15 ever computer we’ve evwr had has been hp. Currently we ha a HP Pavillion 20 in flat screen desktop the no one can use lol, and we have a 2005 hp laptop. The laptop has very slow processing, bit i guess thats expectable for an old laptop right ? But all in all i love HP and it remains the only brand i use.

    – Bridgette

  48. My first PC was a Compaq that served me well for many years before I began to build my own systems. I have owned 2 HP 960C printers and currently own a PSC 1200 all in one printer.
I have found HP printers to be solid performers and very reliable producing beautiful home pictures.
I am excited at the chance to add a HP laptop to my PC experience and would like to thank Chris and HP for this opportunity.

  49. I cannot list all the HP products I have owned, because the list would be too long for this post. My first computer was an HP Pavilion 6930 and it came with Win98. I upgraded that machine all the way up thru Win98 SE, WinMe, and finally to WinXP. It finally gave out, but it gave me many years of fun and learning.

  50. Our organizatoin has used HP printers for many years and had tremendous success with them. I am in charge of our Help Desk and it is very rare for problems to occur. Whe problems do occur the HP Support folks have been there when we needed them. They are always very couteous and stay with us until the issue is resolved. This helps us ensure our users can quickly get back to work.

  51. I don’t have much experience with HP laptops or desktops, but I have been impressed with some of their server offerings. And LaserJets are pretty much the only printers I’ll recommend to anyone (I have 2 myself, never any issue with them, unlike most other printers).

  52. I currently own an HP 6150 desktop running Widows 7 RTM x64, love the improvements over Vista. I’d love to be the proud owner of an HP laptop. It sure would be nice to be connected away from home. Coffee and a scone at Alterra with my laptop sounds great right now in this 52 degree cold spell.

  53. I have owned a couple of hp laptops and they never gave me a problem. One of their best ideas that hp has had recently is the all in one that is touch screen. The software needs to be refined a little more but I would love to have a couple of those.

  54. I currently have 2 HP dv laptops in the household; My wife is using her dv6660ea (2008) and I have a dv9074ea (2006). I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate on both machines and although mine was delivered with XP it runs Windows 7 beautifully. We love our laptops although there has been some issues with the motherboards.

My next laptop will probably be a HP as well, although I hope that it will come free of charge as a result of winning this competition. ;-)

  55. I have owned several HP products, the Inkjets being great pronters. The most fondly memorable HP product I have owned (and still have) in a Thinkjet HP-IL portable, with battery, printer. It made a great logging and recording printer because it used continuous pin-feed roll paper and could be carried around. I had to stop using it because it used continuous pin-feed roll paper and a centronics/parallel connection. Like the Laserjet II, III and V printers, it still works.

  56. I have used HP systems for the past 8 years: My first was an HP/Compaq 2188cl laptop, to which I upgraded the memory from 512 to 2gb, and from winXP Home to XPPRO, the second a desktop a445c-b in which I did the same.
I have stuck with HP because HP cares about its customers, and makes the updated Drivers & software readly available, especially the BIOS UPDATES (flash) which I used on both of my units. It was this BIOS flash that actually corrected many minor and a few critical issues that were present. I currently have and am using an HP Pavilion dv9000 series, running Windows 7.

Even today when I work on an HP/COMPAQ the first thing I do is check the BIOS, and flash it if neccessary to the latest version, download and install the latest drivers and updated software, as I did when I got my current system. In 99% of the cases I was able to resolve the problems on the affected system. HP makes it so simple to get these that I cannot understand why the average user does not use do so.

Other systems I have worked on and tried this make it so hard to locate and get the latest updated drivers/software, and few even offer a BIOS Update/Flash without you having to pay for it. It is for this reason and the fact they are usually the better operating of all other systems I have encountered, ie: E-Machines, Sony, Acer, etc., etc..

Needless to say I am dedicated to HP is the best machines for any purpose. In example of that the HP/COMPAQ 2188cl Laptop, using Microsoft Streets and Trips was my GPS on long trips using HP AutoAir adaptor for my vehicle. That unit after 7 years was passed on to my Son-in-Law a police officer in College Park District of Atlanta, Ga., and uses it daily as with XPPRO he can access thru a secured IP the Police network, and get his reports, etc., done, something that because of incompatabilites Vista will not do. My youngest Daughter in Jonesboro, Ga., in going back to school, has the Desktop the a445c-b and both units are running and in use daily all without a hitch. I can say with confidence that any problems with an HP/Compaq Computer is not the system but the USER.

  57. I use a laptop for work. My first two were IBM Thinkpads. Nice machines, but the best way to describe their physical appearance is “brick”.

Then, we got the HPs. I was one of the lucky ones – 4 were purchased, but we had almost 10 laptop users. One became MINE!!! HA HAHHAA HA HAAAA!!! And it has served me very well.

It is 3 years old, but still lets me run everything I need with no “old tech that runs slow” problems. It has traveled to all across the US with me, as well as to Asia once. The boss liked his so much he gave it away – and got a newer one (when you sign the checks, you can do that sort of thing). He’s been very happy with that one, and the coworker who got his hand-me-down was ecstatic – that HP replaced a 5-yr old IBM that WAS showing its age.

Other HP products I have or used? Lots of printers. I think I have 4 in my house right now. And their mainframes! Really, HP used to make mainframes. I used to work for GE, and GE used both IBMs and HPs (a little history here – GE was in the mainframe business for a while – had a 6% share at one point – but got out and sold it to HP).

  58. I currently own a DV2700 and my wife uses a DV6000. We recommended a DV6T for my father-in-law which he now uses to Skype w/ us so that he can see our 10 month old son.

The main reason we have kept HP in the family has been the support. We had some battery issues w/ our first notebook that HP helped us resolve. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the voice call follow ups that we received to update us on the trouble ticket’s progress. I expected email followups, so to receive calls that allowed me to ask questions what was pretty neat.

We recently upgraded our Deskjet printer to an Office Jet all in one (J4680). This was after we purchased an HP Wireless Printing Kit – which did not work well at all. I am not sure if it was a Vista issue or not but I love the J4680. The remote scanning, faxing, and printing capabilities are great. I can scan a document at the device and have it sent to any of our notebooks wirelessly. This has been useful when scanning in our son’s new birth certificate, medical forms, etc. for archival purposes. Plus, since we now have hundreds of digital pictures just in the last 10 weeks I am not sure how many boxes of HP photo paper or ink my wife has gone through.

I am a heavy VMware user. I utilize VMware Workstation on my notebook for sandbox environments to access my poor man’s home VMware lab. I often push the limits to the machine but it has been problem free thus far (knocking on wood).

The Quick Connect dock is also a feature that is heavily used to connect our laptops to our HDTV for Netflix streaming and Media Center usage. More often than not you will find us streaming music via Media Center while we make dinner.

My wife’s DV6000 is great but she doesn’t have a built in camera like me so a DV6T would be cool upgrade for her so that she can Skype w/ video while I am on the road (w/o having to carry an external camera arond).

  59. I absolutely love my hp dv8000laptop. It has treated me very well. With it’s big 17 inch screen. I can watch movies while I do my work and not lose screen real estate. I take it everywhere I go, it’s almost a part of me. My wife is jealous and I amlooking to get her an hp product because the reliability has been incredible. I love hp computers.

  60. Hiya Chris;

I understand how feel about your HP Touchsmart. Having always been a Dell guy, I was a little miffed when my employer swtiched from Dell to HP and forced me to switch brands. My attitude changed very quickly however, and I soon fell in love with my HP laptop. It was sleek, it was quiet and it was fast. Even though my employer changed back to Dell (when they were “acquired”) my heart has stayed with HP and when I get around to buying my own laptop; it will most likely be an HP!

  61. I love HP products in general. My current laptop is a ze4610 that has been a workhorse that I use every day. The problem is, I have to plug it in to use it as there is a problem with the motherboard that doesn’t allow the battery to recharge! But the German heritage in me won’t allow me to throw out what is otherwise a perfectly good computer.

  62. Hp? Hp manufactures the best products ever! Ive owned a hp mini 1010nr notebook pc which is awsome, but no one knows it has builtin mobile broadband which came very interesting and usefull when I needed it. The ones I want to own is the hp pavillion. It’s the best product ever. Thank you hp for making these products that help companies become sucessful.

  63. Well….. I have one of the Greatest Printers one could have.
It’s the DeskJet 5800, and it is ran via wireless ethernet to the 6 PC’s we have in our home. Never had a day of trouble out of it. I also have had a few Pavilion desktops come my way. As it stands my brother and cousin both own an HP laptop. I am the “family” PC Tech, so I see my fair share of HP’s of all types. If I ever wear the DeskJet out, I am thinking of going with an HP laser printer. :-)
OH.. BTW.. I’ve used older HP parts to “frankenstein” a few PC’s together for family members who couldn’t afford a PC otherwise.
HEY… when parts are that good…. why trash them.

  64. I have used Compaq laptops for the last 9 years, and have been quite pleased with the performance of these machines.I also own a HP deskjet printer that has stood up for the same nine years..Very happy with HP products, and their customer service.

  65. I thoroughly enjoy HP. I’ve owned several HP products. I don’t have a full size laptop right now, and I’ve had my eye on the HP dv6t for quite some time. I’d love to have the opportunity to use this laptop as my full-size laptop.

  66. I really enjoy the flexibility my HP devices give me. I currently own a Pavilion dv7-1245 dx, a Deskjet 4180 all-in-one, and a Laserjet 1000. My Pavilion is my ‘home away from home’; it handles just about everything I throw at it and still hast time to turn and burn on Guild Wars! My all-in-one is great for sending in those rebate forms, printing out my home work and printing a few choice coupons! The Laserjet I run on my Linux box because it’s great for printing bunches of business cards. I think the best value from my HP products, is they allow me to live a life without limits!

  67. I have personally owned an H-P Printer (812C) and Pavilion (ZX 5078CL) for years of reliable service. Only with the laptop did I have to service the power port. My image of H-P is quality, reliability, and service as a result.

I would urge H-P to evolve a new lightweight multipurpose cross-over laptop, that meets both the social/communication and entertainment needs of today’s evolving net niche.

  68. I’ve never owned any HP products before but after going on their site to have a look at the laptop which looks great. It would be really usefull to win my own laptop for school work and a little gaming :X

p.s. I’d be more comfortable replying with my address in my email if thats ok

  69. My son is now on his second HP laptop; he has really liked both but the thing that stood out was the level of warranty support. His first one had a couple of problems with power supply and network card, and both were replaced with no hassles at all. Made it an easy choice for him getting the second one, which is a touch smart tablet. He’s a college student and finds that the ability to use it like a tablet to take notes in class, then take it home and use it like a laptop works really well for him.

  70. I had just recently owned a Hp mni 110 . The feature I liked was athe wifi wireless connectability. Plus light enough to carry anywhere I wanted to go . It had the xp service pak on it which I was right down at home with it . The hard drive being 160 hd was sufficient for me to do my student work on it . It was a black swirl finish and also I loved the web cam that was on it . I could get connected with my son that is over in Iraq web cam to using Yahoo service . it had the integrated mic too so no mic hook up to talk . but had to talk a little louder to be heard . But was loving it to stay in touch with him . It also had a 5-one media reader for downloading pictures for my son of his two children and wife. The other feature I liked about it was the almost full size keys .I was first worried that they were going to be too small for me . The speakers wre also great for my music that I had put on there from my cd collection. . It had 3 usb ports for which I used one for a wirless mouse because I could not get the handle on using the touch pad. It also had the audio out for headphones and mic in . All in all it was a great hp laptop . The reason I wrote this comment in past tense . I just recently went back to school this fall for college .I was sitting with three other students at a table and asked if they could watch the laptop and they said they would be there for for fifteen more minutes and i had to go use the restroom . They said they would and I being so trusting thanked them . Well I was only gone two minutes and yes they did . They thanked me for a brand new Hp for themselves . I don’t know which one took it . But later on one of the students was in one of my classes english comp. I did not make a scene . After class I hurried up to him and asked where my laptop went and he stated , What laptop he replied. I did report it to the school authorities and they said they could not help me . I just learned my lesson on laptop security . If you have to go use the boys room never leave your laptop guarded with people . Tkae it with you . I hope others will read this warning of me being stupid. So I do all of my reports by hand andthat is my new laptop for right now . Thanks from Dave at dav4318@aol.com

  71. I own a Compaq Presario SR1520NX Desktop, Hp Scanjet G3010 Scanner, Hp All-in-one printer. I have owned several Hp printers and continue to upgrade to HP. I have owned several Hp Scanners but find that they don’t last as long as I wolud like them to, but I still continue to purchase them. Also own a Compaq CQ60 Laptop. I find their products to be reliable and reasonably priced. Looking to purchase an HP IPAQ 111 in the near future. Again, price is a main consideration for me.

  72. I think HP is a wonderful brand! I have an HP printer at my house and it works perfectly! I would really like to own an HP laptop simply because it is powerful, shiny (:P), and I think it worth the price.

    Thanks for this contest Chris!

  73. Also I have loved all of the hp products that are out there . I have had several of their printers and the laptop that was taken the wireless mouse was a HP . It was a very good product to use when not being able to use the touch pad because of my arthritus in my hands. But I give that laptop a 100% working rating for me . Just wish I could get it back from them . They also got the Hp carrying case that protected it really well . Sorry I forgot to put this in the original post . Thanks again Dave dav4318@aol.com

  74. The last three printers I have owned have been HP.
I have an all in one that I use mainly for faxes, photocopies and scanning. Its been around for about 5 years now. Last year I replaced my ancient HP B+W laser with an HP colour laser. I can now print small quanitity flyers and such in house that I would have previously had sent out. I am hoping to add a designjet series printer soon for in house proofing and larger scale printing like banners. An HP laptop would be a nice addition. Thanks for the chance. jernewton@hotmail.com

  75. My son has an HP laptop and he loves it. It has a 17″ screen, webcam, full size keyboard and fast processor. Despite my constant tweaking with the wireless network settings, the HP laptop keeps staying connected to the network. Love the HP laptop and want one for myself.

  76. our hp desktop printers are the best. there’s none of the crap about replacing the cartridges like our old epsons, which i why i won’t allow epsons back in any of the 3 locations i support. hp is the only printer i’ll buy anymore.

  77. My first brand new computer was an HP Desktop. It served me well for over 5 years and was a great training tool for a young newphew. I currently have an HP Pavillion notebook — always been a happy customer as they have continued to improve over the years.

  78. I have owned an HP dv9000 series laptop for the last 2 years and have been very pleased with its performance and reliability. It has a 19″ screen so it’s great for working with and viewing video but it is alot to carry around. I think next time I will go the other way in size and go for a 12″ or a Netbook for ease of portability. Thank You HP.

  79. I just bought a G60-441US notebook for my son. I liked it so much that it I convinced my co-worker, her mom and two people from church to buy one as well.
The thing that I like I like most about the G60-441US is that it is quite and does not get as hot as other notebooks.

  80. All of my printers were and still are HP products. Never have any problems with these printers.

Right now I’m using a laser black and white and an inkjet color printer. I’m hoping to get a larger one soon.

  81. I’ve had an HP computer for a little over 3 years. It’s a media center Pc but never fully used the media center feature. The only thing I have ever had to chang on it was the dvd drive.

  82. I love hp i bought a dv9000 from them 3 years ago and i still use it as my primary machine. The customer service is also awesome i had an issue with my laptop and they fixed it for free regardless of the cause. I recommend hp to all my friends.

  83. I don’t own any HP laptops right now, but have had a couple in the past, I gave my last one to my daughter and she still uses it every day and is quite happy with it. I do warranty service on laptops as a sideline and find myself seeing less and less of them, which is a good thing as it means the reliability is going up and I have less repairs to do.

I am going to feel like the Maytag repairman if this keeps up!

  84. I only had a HP backpack which my sister gave me for New Year gift, I wish to have a HP laptop, so that I can give it to my sister for a gift.

  85. We currently own three HP laptops: my sister’s G60t, my niece’s dv6, and my own Omnibook500. Both my sister and niece were on budgets, the niece a bit tighter than my sister. So for both of them, I looked at Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, Apple, Acer, Gateway, Sony and even Panasonic. And every time I came back to HP for the best deal in price and features. I still use the Omnibook 500, mostly web browsing. It has a PentiumIII 750 with 320MBs of RAM. Best thing I like about it is the docking bay can play CDs on it’s own without the rest of the computer being there. For an older machine, it’s features are still ahead of most on the market today. And it will be here till it stops working. Which I don’t see happening for years. I’ve also recommended HPs for friends, one who is going off to college now owns a dv7 and loves it, and the free printer was a big plus at the time of purchase. The three of them love the full keyboard with number pad, big screen, fast processor, and good battery life. I like that they were better spec’d than anything else I could find for the price, even Dell’s Vostro line off the business side. Thank you, HP, for keeping laptops affordable, easy to use and powerful. And the screen wipe was a nice touch.

  86. ABOUT HP Products – have many of them – wish the driver update process was simpler – some of the installation instructions are very complex and time consuming – suggest this be automated in some way the the LENOVO ThinkVantage Update works

  87. I promised my grandkids new laptops for graduation. My eldest granddaughter graduated 5 years ago an is still using her HP laptop with no problems whatsoever. The youngest granddaughter graduated in June and since the other HP held up so well, I got her one. I have one more grandson left to graduate in 2 years, and I would love one to work with before I get his.

  88. I purchased an HP Pavilion laptop for my sister and it hasn’t missed a beat. Even though she lugs it around everywhere. It’s nice to not have to deal with hardware issues.

My buddy swears by his HP mini and I’m interested in the HP Firebird. Liquid cooling from a manufacturer? I’d love to test it out.

  89. i own a HP server and a HP desktop.
my server has actually been pretty good for performance, even tho its a HP DL380 G3… it still packs a punch :D

my desktop is great, i have used it as a media pc for a while and the video quality is awesome!
    god i love hp :3

  90. I am a regional technology coordinator for adult literacy programs throughout MA. I travel a lot and do lots of trainings and workshops for teachers and directors showing them how to integrate technology into their programs and curriculum. It is critical that I have a dependable, reliable laptop that is also lightweight but has a fairly large screen size and resolution to be able to demo applications and due to the fact that I have some visual issues myself. HP has always stood for dependability and reliability. I have always owned HP printers and would not purchase anything else. Their tech support, when and if needed, has also been excellent. I really like the fact that this laptop also has the numerical keyboard. Due to budget cuts in education, we have been forced to use older, heavier and certainly less reliable equipment. Winning this laptop would certainly help make my job easier, but also would be a boon to the many educators who would be exposed to the technology and workmanship that HP provides. Thanks for giving me a chance to enter.

  91. I have owned several generations of HP Desktops over the years (I’m talking the 80’s here) and have enjoyed using HP printers since forever.
I don’t currently own any HP Desktops at the moment (there was a great sale on a Sony VAIO – I know, I feel like a traitor).

However, I’m proud to say that I do own 3 HP printers and absolutely love all of them.

My workhorse is the HP LaserJet 1200 Series PCL (purchased 11/1/2001) it keeps going and going and going…

I received my ultimate fantasy printer, an HP Color LaserJet 2605dn PCL 6, from my son for my birthday (3/21/2007). It’s everything I ever thought a color laser printer would be. It prints on both sides of the paper if you tell it to, I was never able to do that automatically before. If you can’t tell, I was and am very excited about it.

The newest addition to the family is the HP Photosmart Premium C309a series “All-In-One” printer. I bought this as a gift for myself on 5/26/09 (on sale at Costco) to replace an Epson Inkjet printer that was constantly giving me fits. I cannot say enough about this printer…but I’ll try ;-)
** I can print 4×6 photos without changing paper by keeping photo paper in the loading tray specifically for it. You also have several choices as to where to get the photos (blue tooth, computer and a bunch of different memory card types).
** I can print directly to printable CDs and DVDs. You can’t believe how simple this is. The CD/DVD tray is nicely stored within the printer so it is always easily accessible.
** You can set it to copy a pile of papers by itself (you don’t need to stand there and feed in each paper separately – is that cool or what?!) and have the choice of one side or both side printing. Okay you have to agree that is hot!
** The fax feature works flawlessly.
** I know it can do more but so far those are the features that I have used numerous times without a hitch.
** BTW, I only buy the XL printer cartridges they are more cost efficient and really last a long time. I buy mine in multipacks from Costco.

Just a thought… I might go back to HP computers if I had one to play with again.

  92. Back in the day when I was a wee lad our family used to own an HP Vectra. I still remember those days(pre Windows 95 of course) where dial up was the fastest and coolest thing ever. Not really to our phone bill, but hey, it worked. It’s where I got my start with computers, and I’ve been a geek ever since. I also own a few HP printers, one of them is a PSC and the other is a regular ol’ inkjet. They do a good job and we don’t have many problems but those frustrating paper jams. I noticed over the years that HP has some pretty cool products, especially those new touchsmarts. I tried one of those out and was so amazed at how easy it was to use.

  93. Hp has always been the best choice of computers for me and my family! We currently own the Hp Special Edition Verde Desktop for use as the main primary computer. It has never failed me, and their products are of high quality for the regular consumer. Our next step is to get an HP laptop because we want to setup a small home office for the whole family to use! And Hp is our number 1 choice! Its consumer friendly as well and has great assistance in every one of their computers so that’s what make it a top choice! for computing.

I am proud to own An HP and no matter what it will always be My choice and families choice forever. I would like to own an Hp laptop because I am gonna start going to college and will use it when I start. I will use it for years to come. Ever since hp was founded (1939) They have always made top quality dead on great products so thank you Bill Hewlett and David Packard for creating the choice of computers for me and everyone else! Not only computers but printers, Cameras, Great Monitors (I’m using the Hp w2007 20′ monitor) So all in all Hp is the TOP choice for consumers and will always be for me Thank you! I would like to add thanks to HP and Chris Pirillo for letting The community an opportunity to win. Also You are an inspiration to me Chris you are the best geek ever and geek idol to me. Thank you and good luck to all the contestants.

  94. We use only HP Printers. They are great, last forever and never break. In fact we still have quit a few HP laserjet 4’s and 5’s that I’m going to have to turn in just so we can get newer models. Way to go HP!

  95. I’ve owned several HP products over the years, printers, laptops, etc. and I have nothing but praise for their high quality. I am currently using an HP Mini 1010 to test some of the new operating systems being developed specifically for netbooks and it has worked flawlessly with each and evey one I’ve tried. Keep up the good work, HP!

  96. Hi Chris,
This is a great offer. I would love to own an HP laptop as this would be a wonderful addition to the tools I need for getting my home-based business started. My brother is a computer geek and has always used HP products including an HP Pavilion Elite e9150t series desktop and a HP HDX 16t Premium series laptop. He has always highly recommended their products.

  97. HP has had its share of ups and downs over the last few years. On the downside, I can’t count the number of times I’ve gone to my in-laws and have heard, “Ahh! My laptop is running so slow!” and someone else says “Is it your HP?”. Truth be told, they’re just running bloatware, but I don’t want to get disowned by pointing it out to them.

Really, I’d LOVE to own their laptop! It’s loaded with features, like most HP machines are. For all those who love having envious coworkers, great nights of gaming, a handy-dandy IT tool, all while on the cheap, going HP may be the way to go for you.

  98. I love all HP products I use to have a old HP Laptop man, that lasted forever, I would like to win another HP laptop my old gateway laptop its getting old, the charger is going bad and I miss the HP products I use to have. HP ROXS!

  99. I love HP products. I own 2 HPs alongside my dell and iMac. One us an HP vectra 500 ( perhaps… 14 years old?) and an HP pavillion a775c, and I love them both.

  100. I am sitting next to my HP Officejet J4680 right now!

The HP Officejet is a great small office printer that is quick, prints great and keeps me from having to walk across the office to the other printers (wait…is that why I’ve gained a few pounds since I got it?).

    Thank you HP!

  101. i own a hp all in one printer but i would love to win the hp touchsmart for the great touch screen expierence. hp and live.pirillo.com rock

  102. Wow Chris this is sweet! Hp rocks! Their products withstand time & time again. We’ve opened only Hp printers and several of their computers. They just put the other companies to shame. A touchscreen computer would be sweet for college. Good luck to all!

  103. I have a fairly old HP scanner, but since my scanner and my printer are each hard to reconcile with any OS newer than XP, I’m thinking to get an HP all-in-one scanner/printer/fax.

  104. I love HP.
I own a small HP Photo Printer and a larger HP Multi Purpose Scan, Fax and Printer.
I also own an HP IPAQ.
The laptop would make a sweet addition to my HP family of products.

  105. I really love HP. I will be buying the w2338h monitor from them soon, and I have a few HP printers, as well. All of my HP products have far exceeded my expectations when it comes to value.

  106. I currently own an HP dv2000 laptop and I need a new one! my current one has some issues with the built-in wireless card disappearing from device manager and not working. I’ve been pretty happy with HP computers so far though as they are one of better big name companies when it comes to support after the sale.

  107. Well, I still need to go to a gnomedex, but I like hp products for example the hp deskjet F4480 all-in-one printer that I have, its work great and even I set it up to my ubuntu machine with more ease than other printers. Another thing I installed easily to my ubuntu machine was the hp wireless deluxe keyboard & mouse set. So it’s needless to say, that I like their products, and how they promote with contests in this community.

  108. oh man you gotta love hp. They do make some great products. I have had 2 hp laptops and a compaq laptop. I used them for years until there little problems happened.

  109. I love my HP Photosmart C4480 printer. It has an excellent feature that allows you to print photos directly from your memory card – no need to load to the pc. It was a great replacement for my old Epson!

  110. Good timing on this contest. I sure would like to win a new HP laptop. I’m still running my old xd7000 which is great but is definately starting to show its age. Biggest problem is the weight when travelling so it get used to watch DVDs a lot at the kitchen table.

I think my first HP product was a HP4 laser printer and then a string of them ending up with a HP1300 and colour laser for work. The only one I was ever unhappy with was the 1100 which was a top load and had nothing but feed problems. The HP4 was working up until about a year ago at a friends house but it just wasn’t worth getting a new cartridge when we could get a new and better printer for the same price.

  111. I love my HP photosmart printer. I liked it so much I got one each for my mom, sister and brother.

It’s an all in one and the scanner is great. I have never had a scanner that works as easily as this one does.

The printing is extremely high quality. You can even switch out the color ink for a higher quality photo ink and print to photo paper. It looks just like a professional print.

    The ink also lasts forever.

  112. Chris,
I have been an HP customer for many years. Love their products. From printers, to Laptops, to handheld PDA’s.

In fact I had to call HP tech support because I had a config issue with my new Officejet 6500. The tech suport was able to diagnose other issue with my computer tha made run better. I thought that was way cool.

But I would to give this laptop you are giving away to my good friend Mark Horvath of InvisiblePeople.tv. He has an old HP laptop that has seen better days. I wish i could buy him one but currently I am unemployed. I would love to support Mark with a new laptop so he can continue to bringing us those great stories.

  113. I have always wanted a HP laptop. I looked at a couple at HH Gregg last night. I saw your giveaway today and would love to win this HP product. I espically liked the HP laptop, I saw there, with the 17″ screen. The screen quality was excellent! It had a media card reader, webcam, dvd burner with lightscribe, and many other features. I am leaning toward this one.

  114. We recently rolled out a “Virtual Agent” program at my real estate agency and this includes a new laptop for each participating agent. When it came time to actually choose the laptop, we looked at EVERYTHING on the market and finally choose the HP Pavilion DV6. It’s a fantastic laptop at an unbeatable price and our agents LOVE them!

  115. I build and repair PCs for a living but ANYTIME someone asks me about my preferred OEM, HP is at the top of my list. HP desktops and laptops are reliable, they look professional, and I have seen a very low problem rate compared to other companies, such as the one that rhymes with Swell.

We also use HP computers in the school district where I work, and they have been fast and reliable. Our IT guy loves that they are easy to deploy, they are preloaded with very little junk, and my students and staff enjoy using them over some of the whitebox and “swell-brand” machines we have.

Personally, I would have no problem continuing to promote the fact that HP has provided a solid, dependable product, with solid support. I am proud to recommend them.

  116. I have had several hp products, but never my own hp laptop; when I worked in tech support, hp was always my favorite cause they rarely broke and had awesome customer service. the printers especially are great, I wouldn’t have any other brand.

  117. I have owned several HP PC’s in the past and found them nearly flawless. In fact, I have given the last 2 away to friends, when I upgraded, and the machines are still in use and running fine.

I currently use 2 HP printers, one MFD in my home office, and one portable in my car. I think what I enjoy most about them is the fact they they are work horses. Paper and ink only. I never have to worry about faulty operation or down time. I use them a lot, and they just keep on going. I have had at least 6 HP printers for my work use in the last 10 years. The only reason I change is because the company I work for changes them out every so often, no matter what.

I would love to try a HP Laptop!

  118. Guys I am not sure if you heard of the release of the HP Pavilion dv6 Artist Edition but it is most definitely worth a look.

The design itself deserves its own blog. It was designed by Japanese designer Hisak Sakihama, who won a competition to provide a modern look, the notebook’s look was inspired by Okinawa sea and sky.

The outer design and the software included just oozes creativity making it easier to create, design and edit videos, photos and music.

    The specs are unbelievable:

15.6in 16:9 screen, up to 6GB of RAM, 500GB HDD, AMD Turion dual-core processor, ATI graphics and integrates webcam. All this for only £699 is an absolute bargain.

I recommend you guys look into it!

  119. I’ve been a loyal HP buyer/user for years. I currently own 3 HP laptops – 1 business, 1 personal and 1 for my wife and an HP Photo printer. I am now in need of a new laptop for my daughter who will be entering college this next year and will certainly consider HP. Of course I would prefer to win the DV6t.

I have also owned several iPaqs in the past and other HP printers.
All the products I have purchased have been of high quality and, when support has been needed, it has been excellent.

  120. HP has improved so much through the years. Their products have become top notch and can give any competitor a run for it’s money.

I would enjoy having an HP of my own one day.

  121. I have a six month old 16″ HP laptop. It is used for MS Office, Photoshop, Premier, email and browsing. The wireless allows me to use all over the house. I have even hooked it up to my HD TV to show some of my videos and photos. When I do that the remote is nice to have.

I also have an HP 920 inkjet printer. I have had it for some time now. I considered upgrading it, but why? It still works great and does a nice job on papers and photos.

  122. i thank hp for opportunity they are giving to our community in general its realy assisting in growing and developing technologically.am proud of hp and there quality products.

  123. My very first computer was an HP. Before the internet was barely a whisper and my hard drive was smaller than the contents of a CD, I sported a 486/66 HP. Spent many hours playing Mist and learning to use Paint for my graphics needs. If it weren’t for that computer, I would not be where I am today. That isn’t anywhere all that special at the moment, but you just wait.

  124. I currently use a HP 1035NR and I have enjoyed the on the go feel of it. Out of all the netbook computers I have used, the HP by far has the most comfortable keyboard. The screen size is not terrible and it runs most of my on the go software I need. Kudos for HP on that one!

  125. Awesome of HP to make this offer! I’ve had a HP Pavilion dv1000t for over 4 years and it’s been awesome, great laptop with a lot of extras and beautiful design. But, with just 512 MB of RAM and a 100 GB hard drive, the newer, more memory intensive software out there is starting to slow it down a bit. I was laid off this spring (not a sob story, it’s actually been a blessing in many ways) and am going back to school. These days that means lots of video instruction (I’ve been using iTunes University quite a bit) and that means lots of memory requirements.
I took a look at this system at the link in Chris’ post and found out HP is currently offering FREE upgrade to 4GB RAM and FREE upgrade to 320 GB hard drive! I would probably get the optional TV tuner too – study breaks!
All in all, sweet system! I’d love to win it!

  126. I’ve had an HP inkjet printer for the last 7 years. Rock solid, never screwed up at all. Yeah, the carts are pricey but the reliability is awesome.

  127. Hewlitt Packard has always been the benchmark against which all laser printers are measured. My co-workers, through the years, have often asked my opion of what printers to purchase, both for themselves and for companies and I always recommend HP for any laser printer or laser plotter needs they may have.

  128. We’ve owned an HP Black and white laser printer a laserjet 2100 for years. That is probably the most reliable printer we’ve ever owned! It’s still just as heavily used by us as when we first purchased it years ago! a true testamen to HP’s great engineering!! The printer has seen a variety of Windows OSs and Windows PCs come and go at home, and a number of computers attach and unattach from it. Still, it remains our go-to printer! amazing! :-)

  129. This is an easy subject to talk about. I love HP Equipment – really!. We have had HP at work for a lot of years so when I bought my first new PC for my home I bought an HP scanjet scanner and an HP laser 5L laser printer (since HP equipment was such a workhorse at work). I bought both of them in February of 1996 and they are still running great. I use the printer daily (quite a bit) and the scanner regularly and have had no issues at all with either peripheral. Would love to add to my HP collection – maybe an HP Pavilion dv6t series laptop? :-)

  130. I purchased my Daughter a HP Pavilion dv6z series laptop and she adores it. I like HP because of their great service and support. Great Job again HP!

  131. I have five kids and we share one old computer. Winning a HP Pavilion DV6T laptop would really help with their studies, not to mention allowing me to have some computer time before midnight!

  132. I am a tax preparer. From the first time I saw a omplete return come off an HP laserjet in the ’80s, I knew I had to have one. HP has never let me down. I have owned an HP 1200 & 2015 and now also have a 1210 color laserjet . They are absolutely the best in the marketplace. I have also had several HP desktops, including my current one, an HP 1410. Over the years, I have taken advantage of HP’s warranty service and customer assistance directly connecting to my machine. They not only exhibit excellence in computer technology but they promote the best in customer dervice. Whenever I have a chance with my clients, I recommend HP.

  133. HP has always to be been associated with top of the line printers for home and work. HP was always the good stuff. If there was a HP printer and another printer the HP was always coveted for final printouts, and it’s resources on the network were often hidden by network admins for fear that no one would even use the other stuff if the HP were at hand.

Then I remember the first time I saw the HP logo on a desktop. I thought it was a joke, that someone had taken the logo off the printer and put it on one of our other machines. But this was no joke and once again HP proved to be the good stuff. How did I know? It was the network admin’s machine.

  134. I have an HP J4680 wireless multifunction inkjet printer. It has worked flawlessly ever since I took it out of the box, maybe about a year now. The wireless connection was a breeze to set up, and the color quality is great!

    Thanks, HP!

  135. My very first PC was Windows XP with Compaq, HP, and an HP inkjet printer.
While most people were furious with XP (being the new Windows at the time), I was clueless. Most people were still on Windows 98, 200, or Millinium? So, I cut my PC baby teeth on it.
The HP staff were patient with me when I couldn’t get the printer installed. Turned out to be so simple, but they did not treat me like a moron. They took the time to listen to me instead of talking over me, or patronizing.
Compatible accessories are easy to find most anywhere.
My son picked up a used HP laptop a few months back. He used it for gaming. Added RAM, memory… and, it was a tough little machine.
Another thing is registration. They don’t automatically connect with the HP site. I like having control over my machine, and being able to chose what I want to do with it, and where I want to go.

  136. HP has never really caught my attention in the Tech world until the HP TouchSmart came on market. I thought it was a very neat machine that I have always wanted to own but never had the chance to buy one of these machines. Although I’ve always wanted one, I bought myself a Compaq Presario made by HP and I love this machine. It works great for my streaming machine and things that I always have open. HP never caught my eye until the last year or so when their products started to become more top of the line in my book. HP went from being bad to great in the way I see Windows Computers. My dream of winning this laptop is great, but not everyone is a winner. So for all of you who are going to enter, my luck goes out to all of you!

  137. I have the HDX notebook and I know how great they can be. My fav option on mine is the tv tuner. If it weren’t for the tuner, there would be a knock down, drag out with the hubby everytime our viewing pleasure’s don’t coincided. Another feature that’s well loved is the speaker system. With the bass booster built in the bottom, it is LOUD! Just those features alone is worth the weight. Which brings me to why I want this. I can take it with me. The HDX is very heavy. Might as well take a desktop with you. I need something I can take with me. Maybe I can take the one I win, maybe??

  138. I have had several HP printers and one old HP desktop.
But right now I have two HP printers and I love the older one the best.
Well that’s cause it’s on my pc and the newer one is on my husbands pc.
So naturally I’d love mine the best!
It’s an HP Photosmart 7660 & it rocks!
Makes great prints when I want quality and when I want just fast low ink prints it spits them out FAST!!!
It is easy to change settings usually and is not hard on ink at all-especially on the fast set low ink setting.

  139. My very first computer was a HP Pavilion and I miss her terribly. We grew up together through book reports and college papers, internet dates and emails, and extra hard drives in every available slot. Everything I know about computers I learned from her and I’m a better person for having known her. Her little gray face always smiled at me as I tapped her button to turn her on. The whirling sound at start-up always let me know good things were about to happen either on the net or writing in my word processor. Our relationship lasted ten years before I passed her on to our church but I look back to her fondly.

  140. I currently have a HP Pavilion a6700f that I use at home and I just love! I got it to scan in my analog life to a digital one. ie I am scanning all old pictures, videos, music, documents and old family films. this has all of the functionality that I want out of a computer but one. Portability! I was recently laid-off from work and about a year ago I had to get a new laptop. I wanted something small lightweight and full of features I had a HP dv6t laptop and it was GREAT! I miss it. I would love to buy one for myself but finances are allocated elsewhere at this time. I would love to be able to be connected again when I travel for interviews without having to use the hotel lobby computer and worry about safety of my info.

  141. I have to admit that I am a Dell person at home (to date) althought I use an HP 6200 tower machine and an HP 6910 notebook at work. Both machines are stable, responsive and a joy to work on, and althought I have had my :issues: with HP in the past, they are certainly winning me over just on the quality of their products. I am presently in the market for a new Desktop confirguration and will be looking long and hard at the new reviwers coming out on HP products

  142. I’ve always wanted to give an HP notebook a real try out. I have recommended HP products to clients in the past, but other than minor fixes, have never had the chance to really give one a test run.

Until, now, for my own use, I have always built my own desktops. This would afford me the opportunity to test out an HP product and also a notebook in a long term.situation.

  143. I used to have an HP desktop, which was great–small form factor and fast (for its time). I actually turned it into a Linux box until I bought a newer used unit for Linux. I love their printers, too (of course) and used a laserjet 4m for about 12- 13 years. I’m looking at the deskjet in my office even as I type this.

  144. Unfortunately, the only HP laptop I’ve ever owned ending up being a victim of “heat stroke” and failed one day. I’m hoping if I win, they can change my perception of them. We have several HP units in the office, but I’m running a Dell for just that reason.

  145. i think this move will help pull hp ahead in the market. touchscreens as they progressive will allow users to have a more enjoyable experience…assuming thing such as the zooming, copy/paste,etc. are as user friendly as the iphone.
some touch screens i have used were more of a novility than functional.

    K, bye

  146. I have three HP computers in my house. I bought a slimline for my kids in the upstairs hallway because of the small footprint and the great price. It runs Vista great. I’ve also got a Pavillion for my video editing machine in my den. And finally, I’ve got the MediaSmart Home Server that is taking care of all my backups and network storage.

Oh, I almost forgot my DeskJet printer. So make that 4 HPs in my house…

    HP makes high-quality affordable products!

  147. When you think of big computer brands, one of the name the comes to you is HP. HP aka hewlett packard have a wide range of computer products like; laptops, keyboards and mice, monitors and more. They are also very generous as they are doing a giveaway on YouTube and the gave away various things at gnomedex 9.0. HP is the one of the best brands for computer products in the world.

  148. I recently purchased a Compaq Presario CQ60-419WM Notebook PC. The cooling fan went out and I contacted their tech support. I received excellent help by email within hours on a weekend. They sent out a free pre-paid shipping box to send the unit back for repairs. Any computer will have occasional hardware issues, but the difference is how well HP supports their products.

  149. A couple of years ago, we used to build our own PCs for our staff, but we made the decision to go HP and we haven’t looked back. We are constantly amazed with the bang for the buck that we get with HP workstations.

  150. I have an HP desktop, and I’ve been reasonably happy with it.
Plenty of options on the motherboard to upgrade, and the price was good when I bought it. Came with an LCD, and speakers (not all of them did at the time).

  151. I’m a college student going on my third year. I have used computers all my life in school but never owned one. As I’m writing this comment, I’m using my mobile phone. It would be nice to win a hp laptop. I use hp computers all the time in school, there great. Thanks Chris for tweeting this contest I might get luck and finally own a computer. :)

  152. Hey Chris & guys! :)

I’ve been using a HP PSC 750 printer/scanner/copier for about 5 years now. It’s great and good quality product.

I’ve bought a second monitor for my laptop recently, a HP w1907. I’m happy to double my workspace at reasonable cost.

I’ve recently seen their laptops in a couple of stores and I must say they look very good. Lets enter that contest! :)

Ohhh.. gotta be US resident… fun… Could have mentioned it first? You know, that’s quite a big international community you have there?

  153. I have a hp pavilion which is the best laptop i have worked on for years , and also i have multiple hp products a printer a scanner a cam i love hp they r simple and reliable

  154. I have a HP Officejet Pro L7590 printer. It is absolutely fantastic. I previously had a HP 2600n Laser Jet. I thought I was going to miss the laser quality with the new L7590 but in fact the quality is almost equal. The wonderful thing about the L7590 is that is prints dual sided. This saves me a great deal on paper. The color ink cartridge system is extremely reasonable in price and last quite a while. I use the L7590 for my home business and the fax, scanner, copier, and print capabilities all work incredible well. It networks easily and I have multiple computers on a wireless network running Windows and Linux and all of them picked up with all-in-one capabilities of this printer without any additional driver downloads or formatting. All in all this is the best HP printer I have owned. Thanks for letting me share my information.

  155. My initial expereince with HP products was with the laserJet 2P. It was a workhorse of a printer and one of the first affordable personal laser printers. It was exciting to have and used it mainly for school purposes. I used it for at least 8 years without any issues at all even though faster printers came out. I am sure that it is still going now. I volunteer doing IT work at Compass Center in Seattle and they have a some Laserjet 4P’s for their transient housing clients. They were originally used in the business side and are still running flawlessly and were made in 1993. There are also some HP desktops that are over 8 years old that have never had issues. Just to say that quality products come from HP!

  156. I currently own three HP products. I have two laptops, a HP Pavilion dv6000 and Compaq Presario CQ 60 Notebooks. I just purchased the Presario and like the widescreen and the numeric keyboard. I also have their Photosmart 2610 all-in-one printer.

  157. So….I post here then? Sweet.

I currently own to HP laptops, and I’m going to blame my luck for the quality of the products. There’s always something wrong with them when I get them. My first one the harddrive died after I turned in my last assignment. This second one the screen died after three months. But there is a reason I keep going back. Not only do they work well but if something as unexpected as the two issues mentioned above occurs their help desk was more than helpful to me. I got both computers fixed quickly. It’s amazing how simple it was. I call, they do their best to help and if they can’t they have me send it in, it gets fixed and I’m good to go.

No I realize it’s a bit odd to enter a contest for an HP laptop, talking about HP when I’ve had so much trouble in the past. But honestly you can’t predict those things. I was just unfortunate enough to get those ones. But once they were fixed, they were fixed. Not another problem to be had. The laptops were great. And I’m once again in the market for a new one. And I can’t think of another company I’d rather go to.

  158. I had an HP desktop many years ago and didn’t care for it, but I do think they have come a long way in recent years. I’d like to give them another go.

  159. Hey Chris,

Nice blog, this is actually my first comment on your blog.
I like a lot your videos on youtube, great reviews.
I’ve been looking to purchase a new notebook lately. This VAIO just doesn’t work for me anymore.
I’ve been looking at some of the notebook manufacturers and I liked HP’s models a lot.
A friend of mine owns an HP dv series, and it’s great. He had it for more than 3 years now, had no problems whatsoever with the notebook.
The design is very nice too, as most hp’s are.
I myself preffer the dv series (dv5 and dv6).
I’ve been reading a lot of reviews about notebook manufacturers since I am interested into purchasing a new one, and I was probably going to go with HP. They have some pretty great deals too, and they’re not too expensive compared to some other brands. (I’m not very confortable with Acers or Dells since I had some bad experience with them in the past.)
Anyways, take care and good luck to everybody!

  160. I can tell you about my HP printers since 1990! Bought my first laser printer then — the HP IIP. I never ran a business from my home — I bought a good printer because I wanted the same quality at home that I was used to in my office. As I upgraded, that IIP made it’s way through the family, and just finally quit working (19 years later) while my 85-year-old mother had it. I had replaced it for mysef in 1995 with the HP 4P for higher resolution (600 dpi). Around 1996 I bought a different brand inkjet — it was never satisfactory. Dumped it in 1998 for the HP 890C InkJet . Great color. In 2004 I added the HP 5150 Color Inkjet for a little more speed. In 2003 I strayed again with a different brand laser — which after the first toner cartridge was empty lost it’s clarity and my faith. I went back to my favorite and most reliable brand in 2007 when I purchased the HP 2015 (1200 dpi). Only last weekend I decided it was time for color laser, and purchased the HP Color LaserJet CP2025DN which I just love. I was even able to trade that HP IIP in at Staples when I bought the new one for a $50 rebate and free recycling! That printer just continued to give back! All of these printers are still in use (except the IIP) in my household of 4 computers and 5 printers. Yes, I probably have more than I need, but they are all working fine. No reason to quit using any of them. After a few missteps, I know I will never be lured into buying any other printer than HP ever again. When I started looking for color laser, there were sales people who tried to tempt me, but no amount of coaxing could persuade me to consider a different brand for one moment. I use my printers for family calendars, memory books for high school reunions, Christmas letters and tons more. I’m a female who has used computers and printers for nearly 25 years at jobs and at home, and I consider myself quite proficient. Many people have asked my advice over the years, and I always tell them to buy HP for their printers. Others might be cheaper, but in the long run, your best quality and your best bank for your buck will always be a Hewlett Packard printer.

  161. The only HP products I’ve ever owned were a few all in one printers and they always worked real well. Thanks.

    kport207 at gmail dot com

  162. I have a few HP computers around here being used at home. They have never had any hardware failures even taking into there account of age.

Except my Hp laptop finally bit the dust about 3 months ago. I bought it new 6 years ago and used it till the day it finally croaked. So I have been looking to replace it but with the money being so tight haven’t been able to.

I will only buy HP computers.

  163. I have had an HP aio printer for over a year it is the best I’ve used yet; my son has used one for 3 years and it is also a winner !

  164. I have owned a HP desktop since 2001 and it still runs like a champ. It wont play most of my newer games but it still runs without any issues and my kids love it to learn how to keyboard and use the internet. I cannot say anything bad about HP since I have own several different brands of PC’s but the HP is the oldest and the one that still works without upgrades! Thanks HP!

  165. I’ve always been quite impressed with all of HPs line of products. Every printer I’ve ever owned was an HP. I also think that HP laptops are both stylish and powerful.

Not only is there consumer products superb, but I work as a Microsoft lab engineer and we now exclusively use HP servers in our lab due to their rock solid hardware, easy to use updating software, and flexible configuration. HP just makes winning products.

  166. we own a HP Pavilion desktop that we had gotten about 3 years ago. We love it! We also got the extended warranty and only had to call customer service, when we first set up our Pavilion. Customer service was polite and helpful and answered our questions. Loved the remote access/help that they give.
would love to own a HP laptop. Thanks so much for this chance.

  167. I have an HP A_IO color printer with wifi and sd card ports. It works really well and integrates with my software for scanning and editing perfectly.

  168. Although I have not had an HP machine I have talked to many that have and thay have been well satisfied. The new Touch Smart has gotten many great reviews and I would love to give on a spin. Lockergnome has spoken well of them.

  169. I currently havwe an HP desktop and HP all-in-one printer. But whqat I REALLY want – and need – is an HP laptop!

  170. I currently own an HP 9000 series laptop and it has served me well. I’ve had some hardware issues but HP tech support has taken care of them. I have the HDX16t on my wish list. Too bad they are excluded from the 30% coupon code. :(

  171. I have a HP Inkjet printer now, which I use for printing school papers and reports. I use the Inkjet on a frequent basis and I have to say it never lets me down. One of my close friends has a HP desktop computer which she uses to play World of Warcraft on it, and it runs flawlessly.

  172. I got a new HP computer to replace my old HP of five+ years. I have the p6150t with a w1907 monitor. My old one was a Pavilion 512n. Over the years, I’ve had three HP printers (all-in-one), and I currently have the F4210.
HP hasn’t done me wrong yet, so I’m glad to be a returning customer.

  173. I bought my father an HP Desktop years ago , he passed away and the system was returned to me . I used this system for a few years before upgrading the hard drive and ram and passing it on to a friend to whom has since passed it on to her son .The system is still working to this day!!! Keep up the good work HP !!!

  174. I would soooo love to win this-my home computer went to hell, and I’ve had my hrs. cut at work,so can’t afford to buy a new one right now-have been having to go to the public library to use their computers! Good luck to all!

  175. We are a 2 person (husband and wife) graphic design shop and we probably couldn’t exist without HP. Our very first piece of HP equipment was a Laserjet Series II many years ago. Our current lineup of HP stuff includes a 4 year old zv9000 laptop that desperately needs to be replaced, 2 xw8400 workstations, a laserjet 4000, a laserjet 3380, a designjet 3000cp (also needing to be replaced, but a workhorse nonetheless), and lastly a scanjet 8200.

One other comment – I have seen lots of complaints about HP support, but my experience with them has always been great. From early days with them patiently walking me through my initial efforts at editing autoexec.bat and config.sys files to get the laserjet II to talk to the 386sx16 machine to the most recent experience when one of the memory slots on my wife’s xw8400 did not recognize the new ram in it. They were at our house the following evening (after 6:00pm) to install a new motherboard.

  176. I own an HP inkjet printer that works great – never jams. I would really love to own an HP computer too because I think they are very high quality – much better than Toshiba, Acer or Dell!

  177. I have owned and used a number of HP products before. The first home computer we ever had in my house was an HP desktop. It was very affordable and reliable. It lasted for 11 years (until I donated it to a recycling center because my family got newer HP computers), never needed any repair, and it did everything my family needed it to do. Almost all of my extended family uses HP computers. I even bought an iPaq a few years ago and loved it (until I got a phone that could also do the tasks I did on the iPaq). I tried switching to a Mac last year, but it’s been nothing but pure frustration and consistent problems. I am actually quite looking forward to switch back to HP the next time I buy a computer because they offer great, affordable products, and I’ve never had a single problem with any HP product I have ever owned!

  178. My current system is an HP Pavilion, HP LCD Monitor & HP All-In-One printer. Never had a problem. I think it is the best built system I have ever owned. When I need a new system, it will be HP.

  179. I’ve been using HP Products for over a decade – in fact, the desktop machine Im using right now is an HP Pavillion a6228x. HP has some of the best pc hardware out there, from laptops, to desktops, to mice, to printers, etc. They have the best value for the best quality.

In fact, I have an HP Pavilion (I can’t remember the name of the model) that is about 10 or so years old. Believe it or not, the thing still runs like a charm!!! The only thing I got anything newer was because the new duo core technology in PC’s allow me to record music in a better fashion.

I used to hype over Dell products, until my laptop died, and I saw many other people’s Dell machines die, mess up, or just perform poorly.

I owned a Dell laptop that worked well for the first year, then it seems year 2, 3, and 4 of that laptops life…things just got exponentially worse.

Anyway, right now, I own 2 HP Pavilion a6228x machines, one HP Deskjet printer/fax/scanner/coppier, about 4 hp keyboards and 3 mice, and the 10+ year old HP Pavilion Desktop and I have never been happier with any other brand of PC.

I’m the family geek, and people are always asking me for recommendations and suggestions. When someone asks “Where can I get a good deal on a laptop?” I ALWAYS answer “Check out HP” or even link them off to a perfect item for them from the HP online store, and explain to them why HP is the best: they are reliable, high-end in performance, and will last you quite some time, so no matter what the cost, you’ll get your money’s worth.

Thanks, HP, for putting out such amazing products!

  180. I have owned many HP systems over the years, and they are the best. I own macs, dells, compaqs, winbooks, iBMs, and lots more, but I always loved and will love my HP machines. My desktop computer is a Dell, so naturally its crashing lately, and I would love to have an HP to take its spot. The printers are amazing, and so are the scanners. All my life I used HP tech and I still do to this day. I would be honored to receive to own another HP to add to my collection. Thanks guys for the great computer, software, and tech support at HP.

  181. My friend just recently purchased an HP Pavilion DV6T for playing video games and doing college homework, it works like a charm, he let me try it out, the whole thing is stunning, the case has really cool decals, and the hardware works really well for gaming. I have been looking into getting a new laptop for school, HP is definitely one of my top choices for my next laptop. I also really like the look of the new HP netbooks, they are super portable, and amazing performance compared to other netbooks.

  182. I’ve been a fan of HP desktops and notebooks for a long time now. Anytime I have the opportunity to specify new equipment for work, I will go straight for the HP section every time. Using my HP 7600 desktop now, connected to my HP4250 printer. Would love to win the laptop!

  183. Never used an hp computer but I’ve got an old hp750xi printer I’m still using and it’s great. I’m sure the laptop is equally reliable. I would really like this to try some linux distros. I’ve always been a little leery about putting them on my primary desktop.

  184. I can’t say Hp was my first computer or my current, but I can say that I have many great memories because of one Hp in particular. I can’t remember the model off hand, but it was when cd-rom were just starting to appear in the pc. That Hp helped me and my friends through many days that were too cold or too hot to play outdoors. Instead we’d insert a few floppies load up doom and shoot through monsters for hours. If it wasn’t a game filling our time then it was a couple 12 yr olds trying to figure out dos by ourselves. I’m sure everyone has a few of those memories, Hp will always bring me back to mine.

  185. I have an HP a1023c affectionally known as “SPEED”. I’ve used this computer for several years now and can only describe it as a workhorse. I’ve set it up to run several VMware sessions running multiple servers (Windows 2008, Exchange, SharePoint). It downloads my favorite shows, backs up all of my wife’s photos, holds my entire ebook library, and still it seems it just asks for more. When we moved across country and all of our household goods were packed in a shipping container I still had to bring it with me in the van as we drove to our new home. I couldn’t be without it while I waited for the movers to come! I connect to the computer with the kids’ PC, my wife’s Mac, my Lenovo laptop (needing replacement), and my MacBook and it never complains. If I could have an army of HP a1023c’s I would. If the HP dv6t works as hard as my a1023c then I’d be set!

  186. HP is a top notch producer of hardware. I have 3 HP desktops, an HP OfficeJet All-in-one printer/copier/fax/scanner, and I have the grandaddy workhorse laser printers ever produced by HP – the HP IIP and IIP+. I believe they came out around 20 years ago but they do not quit. I have purchased old ones on eBay for my good neighbors and I have also purchased 4 additional ones for parts. I even went as far as buying out the inventory of a repairman for these printers. So, nothing can go wrong that I haven’t been able to fix. But, they hardly ever require maintenance and the laser toner cartridges are still available via eBay as well. I am a die-hard HP fan!!

  187. We are big HP fans, we have a desktop and older almost on its last legs laptop, a printer and a digital camera.

  188. The first HP product I bought (that I can recall) was a 3.1 mp digital camera. Now I own a whole slew of HP stuff. My wireless all-in-one printer is probably my favorite. After explaining for years to my husband that my old printer wasn’t networkable, now I have one that is. He can print to it from his laptop to his heart’s content! I love that it has separate cartridges for each color of ink so I’m not wasting ink or having to print things in weird colors to use up the end of the color cartridge before replacing it. It’s even energy star rated. :)
I got my eldest son an HP laptop to take off to college and his brother is totally jealous about it. It has the cool fingerprint log-in, a huge screen and lots of RAM. It’s really a beautiful machine and, because it’s an HP, I know it will last him a long time. I could really use another HP laptop for my other son before he turns green permanently.

  189. I had an HP Pavilion that felt like an extended part of ME;my current non-HP does not! That speaks for me. I’ve always used an HP Officejet printer or All-in-One, with great results.

  190. i have an HP printer/fax/copier thingy. i love it. i havent had one problem. an HP computer would be great…well right now any computer would be great! thanx

    zippy573 (at) netscape (dot) net

  191. I use HP computers and love them. I was given a new laptop and still I prefer my good old trusty HP for all of my needs. I also use an HP all in one printer that is just incredible with the amount of work I use it for. I use it to print/copy/fax/scan and many more projects. HP is a very trustworthy brand and I would love to have another new HP to last me many more years. Sure would be nice if I get lucky and get to won this beauty.

  192. I have an HP all-in-one printer that I just couldn’t live without. I’ve used it at least twice a week for over 4 years without ever having anu problems. HP is my first choice in printers.

  193. I am actually planning on buying a new HP laptop pretty soon, so I hope I win. That would save me a ton of money. I love HP! It’s the only computer I trust. I have had an HP PC for about 5 years now. It is beginning to fall apart and I would love to own once of the touch screen laptops or PCs. Those are so great! *Fingers crossed*

  194. HP makes the best PCs, as far as I am concerned. I have one with Windows 95, one with Windows 98, one with Windows ME and two with Windows XP…I need a new one and a laptop would be great.

  195. What a happy coincidence, I am an all HP person. In my home office I have as my primary desktop an HP dc5750 that I purchased in February of this year. It was meant to replace a Pavilion a465c that I had owned for 5 years. But, once I cleaned up the old machine, I decided to install the Windows7 RC1 software on it, so it still remains as a test PC. I also have an HP 6730 laptop, and a 3 year old LJ 1022 printer.

The laptop actually belongs to my employer. While I retired from full time employment several years ago, I work part-time for a local non-profit running a tax preparation program for them. Last fall, we received a grant to purchase new computer hardware for the program (we had been using a mixture of older donated equipment and loaners from the IRS). After doing research and due-diligence, I felt that we could get the best value from HP. As a result we purchased 8 dx2400 desktops, and 3 6730 laptops. We also added 2 LJ2055dn printers. One other significant factor for our choice was that WinXP was the recommended O/S for the software we used, and HP had a good selection of hardware with XP pre-loaded.

My experience with HP goes back over 10 years to my working days at the old Pacific Stock Exchange in San Francisco. As an infrastructure IT manager, I purchased and installed about $3 million of HP equipment which we used to build an interface system between broker/dealers and our options trading system. I always felt that HP provided superior quality both in their hardware and support. And I continue to feel so today.

  196. My first laptop was an hp (presario 6000) and it lasted about three years. It was a server for half of its life, running constantly while I learned about web programming, spanning my time with .net to php. It also helped me during my science project, it ran a visual demo of the project while giving my presentation, which brought me all the way to the state level. I would defiantly love a new laptop, I need one for school most of all as many of my classes this year are computer related.

  197. HP has always been the standard for laser printers as long as I could remember using them always producing the best quality print outs. I own one of those all-in-one printers, and it also works really well, even for scanning and photo printing. It is always very easy to find supplies and parts if needed for their printers, even if they are out of date. I have worked with their desktops and laptops as well and found them to be pretty solid and durable.

  198. I have personally owned several HP LaserJet printers over the years, including the HP III, the IIIP, the 2300 and the 2015dn. (My first laser printer was a “Brand X” which was nothing but trouble). Also my experience at work with various heavy duty business LaserJets has been very positive.

The HP Lasers have all done their jobs well, with excellent reliability. I always select HP laser printers based on my successful past experiences with them.

Now I look forward to the opportunity to expand my enthusiasm for HP products if I win the HP Laptop offered in this contest.

  199. Ahhh… HP. The best PC’s out there! I have been working on a Compaq laptop for several years and it SUCKS! It’s slow and crashes once a day! And, I don’t have the money to buy a new one!

However, my Mom’s HP laptop runs absolutely amazing! Therefore, I am saving up for an HP laptop that. I would save for a Mac, but that would take to long thanks to the price. As of right now I have only $75 in my HP fund.

The point is, Winning this laptop would be one of the best things ever! I would never have to use my piece of @#$% ever again!

  200. i’ve owned a variety of HP products.
Aside from all our printers at work :P …
In addition to a desktop setup, my brother and I both have 17″ HP Pavillion laptops, those things were powerful and quick in their day…that was 5 years ago. He’s going to college now and needs a new laptop, we’re shopping around and are probably going to go with another HP but it would be nice to win one!

  201. HP products are awesome. I have had an HP desktop and currently using a HP printer. I have never had any issues with their products and their customer service has been top notch. It would be awesome to win the laptop. Keep up the great work Chris

  202. I’ve never owned an HP computer, but my preference for printers has always been for HP. I love using them. I tend to be brand loyal when I find a product I like and would enjoy trying out the laptop.

  203. I have always used HP printers. I even said to my uncle that he’d be better off using an HP printer. I was never dissatisfied of using HP products at all. I always turn to HP when it comes to printer needs. My mom has an HP netbook, and it works great.

  204. Right now I own an HP Compaq laptop. It does the trick but as I’m continuing to work with blogging more, I can use a laptop with more memory and speed. My daughter would be thrilled to get this laptop if I win.

  205. i have never owned a HP but i would love to.. I really need a new computer. My sister actually has one and she loves it. She never seems to have a problem! soo jealous!!

  206. Over the past 5 years, I have bought 5 HP computers. The oldest one is what I still use today and it runs Win 7 beautifully. Over the years, the only major component I changed out was 4 hdd. I wanted bigger ones. It even survived a fireball. I was cleaning out the case with compressed air and in a heres your signs moment, I used a lighter to see if there was any dust. The onboard LAN is the only thing that quit working after that.

My wife has the newest computer, which has Vista and she has not had any problems except trying to get the kids off of it so she can get on it. The other two computers went their seperate ways. One fell on the floor when the cats decided to use it for a launching post. That jarred the PSU. The other one, the mother board decided to quit, so I took the launch pad tower and comgined the two to make one. My mother has the other one. Her’s is old as mine and she uses it still for her tax business.

Eventually, I want to get a laptop. It is unbelievable that they have almost the same, if not more, features than a desktop setup. Shoot, I notice that netbooks can out do my desktop. The computers I have now that are operational, I can’t remember what my mom’s is, my wife’s is slimline 3220nx, I think. The kids is a HP 502 and mine is the trusty HP 763n.

  207. I’m really into computers and i really want a laptop because the only computer i have is a desktop and i really want a laptop because i’m really into testing new computers because i really like to try new computers and i don’t have a laptop so i really want one.

  208. I love HP. When I think about HP I think about quality. I have had HP Desktops, printers and scanners. They are a great company with a wonderful support team. I’m going to be getting a new computer next year and HP is at the top of my list.

  209. I’ve been looking around for a new laptop; reading reviews, checking features and prices, etc. My main limitation is my budget. I want more laptop than I can afford ;). HP has two of my top three choices so far. I know HP has a commitment to quality so if it’s a tossup, HP will get the nod.

  210. To be completely honest i haven’t ever owned any HP but i was watching the reviews for the HP Touchsmart computer and it blew my mind! The thought of having that kind of software on a laptop computer would be perfect. I’d love to win this HP!!

  211. I have had several HP printers. My current one is probably about 8 or 9 years old and still works perfectly! It’s only black and white, and doesn’t do photos or anything fancy. But like most HP products, it is quality and built to last.

  212. I have been a HP customer it being the only product I have bought. The customer service is fantastic for the amount of inquiries they must have. In the future there will need to be something breath taking for me to switch and as HP has continued to be the best there still will not be a better piece of equipment out there.

  213. I have an HP Printer! No sure if I ever didn’t have an HP Printer! Would love to win the new HP Laptop!!!

  214. I do not own any HP products but they have left a good impression on me. Every time I go to Best Buy I am glued to the TouchSmart they have sitting over there. I just can’t believe something that big is a touch screen! It is a work of art and it is “stupid” fast. The next time I save up some money for a new computer I will definitely look into getting one of these. But for now I have my Dell Dimension 4550 with the Pentium 4 Processor (not exactly great for school!).

  215. I have used many HP products over the years and I have bought 9 HP itams. 6 of those were computers including 3 laptops, 2 towers and a handheald. The other three were printers including one lazer printer, one inkjet and one all in one. Over all I have had very few problems with the computers. only one of the laptops have failed which was an nivindia problem. Over all i am very pleased with HP products. Great products!

  216. My last computer was a HP Pavilion DV9000 with a 17 inch screen and sweet video graphics. I watched more movies on that laptop than on my tv! Now I’m on a flimsy Toshiba that I’m worried is going to burn out any day–it was a good price at Best Buy but my old HP seemed like a much sturdier system even though my current laptop has a faster processor, etc than my old one. I’ve always been interested in the touchscreen concept and I hope that more get added to their lineup in the future. Well, back to work!

  217. My experience with HP products is limited to my trusty printer. Trusty is the operative word! HP is a brand I trust, and their computers are the first ones I look at when I’m browsing for new one for myself or for a family member. When my husband weighs in, it’s also always in favor of HP. This is a phenomenal giveaway. I would certainnly love to win this HP Laptop to complement the greatest printer we’ve ever had. It’s lasted through 3 kids/college, and 1 high schooler so far.

  218. I have had 2 HP scanners and they were both GREAT!!!
I am using an ancient eMachines desktop now
Always wanted an HP Laptop but funds limited

  219. I have been in college now for two years, and all I have been using is an HP, DV-6000. I love this machine.

I can honestly say, I don’t believe there is another PC hardware developer who has better engineering, compared to HP. They build solid machines that last for years.

Having a new HP would be nice. I was thinking about getting a new machine next year, but college expenses come first. I would love to travel abroad to Zurich, next year, and having a brand new HP with me at the time would be quite awesome.

  220. I was a Dell person for quite along time. I had bought a Dell studio 15 for my daughter and she had nothing but trouble with it. When she dropped it (hmmm wonder if it was on purpose) we did some extensive shopping and ended up with the HP Pavillion dv4. She loved the style and small footprint without it being a netbook. I couldn’t pry this laptop from her hands now. Works perfectly for her and she is glad we tried HP.

This led to my wife looking at a new laptop also and we spotted a tremendous deal on the Hp HDX 16. Nice system! Love the sound and screen. Great dedicated graphics card and 64 bit. Extremely light and runs cool both of which I am quite surprised about. For the price we couldn’t touch anything similar and the wife is happy which is more important than anything.

Perhaps soon in the future it will be my turn but for now at least the women in my family are happy and we all know how important that is to our mental health. lol

  221. I bought my first HP product in 1993 (HP II Plus Laser Jet printer) and just retired it last year. I replaced it with a wireless AIO printer. The laser jet was a great machine, but the AIO is awesome. When I am ready for a new PC, HP is going to get some serious looks.

  222. As a PC user, HP products are definitely top-notch. I own an older HP laptop (dv1000) and it has not failed me yet. I see the new features on the more current laptops and they make me giggle with delight. My deskjet 5150 got me through college without fail. The printing options were immense which allowed my work to stand out from the work of my classmates. My mom recently purchased a 17inch HP d9925nr laptop and it is awesome! The price was very reasonable for the power and performance it produces. The dv6t series laptop would be an awesome upgrade to my HP arsenal!

  223. I recommend HP printers and HP/Compaq computers to everyone who asks me. they are reliable, and easy to set up and upgrade. finding ink for an HP printer is always easy. HP service is great too, when you need it. My daughter had to have her Compaq laptop repaired; getting service for it was easy, we received the box on time and it was returned earlier than promised.
I have two HP laptops at home and my last pc at work was an HP. over half of the printers we use at work are HP and they are, without question, the most reliable printers we own.

  224. I really like all things hp they’re my favorite PC maker in the PC market. If you want a good laptop go with hp. I wanted this really cool laptop from hp but of course now I can’t remember what laptop it was. I always describe hp laptops as very pretty and stylish. The only thing I don’t like about hp is their printer’s software. It takes forever to install and if your on XP, like me, you have to install it or it won’t run. So if you guys are looking tell your software team to make better software. In conclusion, Hewlett Packard is my favorite PC maker but they need to refine their printer software.

  225. When I was in college, I had a partner on a project who worked for HP. He was so busy with work that he had a hard time to get his part of the project done. Such a dedicated employee – no wonder HP has so many good products!

  226. I’ve read good things about the HP Touch Smart PC and the Mini laptop and would love to have one of my own to replace the Dell I currently have that constantly crashes on me. I think that the HP is more reliable and dependable and that’s what I really need.

  228. HP is #1 for students. I currently own an HP Pavilion laptop and HP Deskjet printer and both have proved extremely reliable (my roommate even borrowed them on several occasions because she was having issues with her Dell). My brother could really use a laptop for school too, so I’m glad this came up! I’d recommend HP to anyone looking for an inexpensive, reliable laptop AND service (they sent me a replacement charger within two days of calling. Talk about FAST).

  229. I love HP products! I am typing this on my HP desktop and I print with my all in one HP printer. All of my experiences with HP products have been positive! I can’t say that about any other company.

    Thank you. :-)

  230. Well, so many posts, guess a win is unlikely…

But I will say that I’ve owned several HP printers over the years and all have given good service.

  231. Well, sure HP and laser printer are synonymous with quality and durability (my Laser Jet II still works); their inkjets aren’t far behind. But what probably strikes me most is their continued evolution from a not all that friendly or reliable desktop provider to one that is near the cutting edge and is now worth every cent they cost. Now if they could just work out all the software so that it wasn’t quite so large and somewhat intrusive. I don’t really need the monitors running int he background taking up precious resources. Oh well, I guess you can’t have everything. { and if you did, where would you put it all? ;-> }

  232. i would love to win an hp laptop. i have used hp printers for years, but have never owned an hp computer. i have never owned a laptop, and after reading some comments and reviews, would like HP to be my first laptop experience.

  233. Only thing we own is a HP all in one printer. I have heard about these HP laptops the touch screen look really nice sure would out do do my old IBM laptop think pad I have.

  234. I find it super funny that all printers in our house are and have always been hp. WIERD. I have never owned an hp though. When I was a main PC user I would build my own usually.

  235. I’ve had a HP printer ( hp psc 2175 all-in-one) for years!! It has NEVER had one problem….the new models may be “prettier”, but, this one has never failed me. I desperately need a laptop because I gave mine to my 18 year old first born for college (sniff!). Thanks!

  236. I LOVE HP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, but i have to get rid of my hp computer because my uncle needs it for “college”, but i need a computer for school too. anyway from my experience i loved my hp dv6000 computer even though i have to give it up :(

  237. I currently have an HP color inkjet all-in-one printer and I love it. It scans, makes copies, and prints and even has an option to do an ‘economy’ print to save on ink, which is nice. I’d love to try an HP laptop! I have an Acer right now and 2 days after I got it, the thing fell apart!

  238. I love my HP Color Laserjet printer! I have been lusting after one of the new thin, light (13.3 inch) laptops with the trayless DVD drive! I can remember when HP tested their desktops by dropping them. Those were real work horses. We probably still have one or two old Pavillions with Windows 95 in a closet somewhere. :-)

  239. I have HP products from the days of Windows 3.1.
Like a old color Deskjet printer for originally computers running Windows 3.1. The printer still runs fine even in WIndows XP and after many ears of it.
There is also time when I bought HP Officejet Printer, which later unfortunately stopped printing correctly. But after a call form HP, they gladly replaced the printer at no charge. They also have a website to review your replacement package. When the replacement printer came to the door, they also gladly gave us some brand new fully filled HP ink cartage for the Officejet printer.
I also have HP computers, which is running Windows XP and it runs fine, even when recording bloopers; which requires the Ustream show and a screen recorder software; checking emails, and playing Youtube; which it is pretty good for a few years old computer.
Right now, some of my computers are HP products and all my printers running are all HP printers (form Deskjet to Officejet).

Even my school has mostly HP products, form computers, to laptops, to printers. The only other computers than an HP are Mac Pros for running Final Cut Studio. There are a countless HP machines in my school.

  240. I have had HP computers for the last 5 years. My latest desktop is 3 years old and pretty much obsolete. I have been looking at the new HP touchscreen and HP laptops, still trying to decide which I want to go with

  241. I am typing on a HP computer that is hooked up to an HP laser jet. I have had virtually every laserjet model dating back to the original – which I think cost me about $300 brand new.

I’d love a new HP laptop (don’t have one-would love one)!

  242. I have Had my HP a1000y desktop computer now for almost 5 or 6 years it still works Great for it being so old but now its time for me to get an upgrade to the latest and greatest this computer has served me well and i’ll never go with anyone else other than HP.

  243. I recently purchased a HP 8710w from TigerDirect for its 17″ 1920×1200 display, having set up several at work. Biometric login w/fingerprint is great feature, love it so far.
I use a 8510p to work from home via VPN, and it has been very reliable so far. When we have had problems with any HP desktops or laptops, customer support has been very good and responded very quickly, overnighting any items we needed (hard drives, RAM, etc.)

  244. I have owned quite a few HP products over the years. They have all been great actually. They really make quality things. I actually like their printers a lot. Altough currently I am networked to a Brother printer. Oh well. I have seen and used touch smarts before and really would like to own one. But that’s not what this contest is for, so I’d be glad to win the laptop as well.

  245. I actually just laid my dear old HP laptop to rest a few weeks ago! It accompanied me across two continents and through many countries, keeping me connected all the way. I was pretty much never without it, and can honestly say that I’ve never been so hopelessly dependent on any other machine as that laptop. I would sincerely love to get a replacement, I feel kind of lost without it!

  246. seems hp laptops seem to be gg since thats all i see in my bestbuy store i like the 17″ ones i cant stand anything under 17″ anymore i installed windows 7 on a older hp lapto and it runs like a champ but i did order the restore disk because in order to install win 7 i had to delete all the partions to even install oh well just haven fun least now i can use the restore disk at any time now

  247. I used to use an HP laptop at work and enjoyed it very much. Wide screen, bright display, easy to use. Having a new one for just myself would be great as it’s time to start thinking of upgrading.

  248. I have always been a fan of H.P.. I currently have a H.P. desktop and 2 H.P. printers. I never had a H.P. computer or printer stop working have traded up to get new models (faster and more features). A new H.P. Laptop would be great.

  249. I have an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC that I literally take every where. It even goes camping with us so my toddler daughters can watch a movie at night before going to bed. I want to win since every time I leave the room my Husband grabs mine and it takes me awhile to get it back. Normally I have to throw out some nagging. Please save my marriage and let me win!!

  250. I’m actually on an HP right now! Mind you, it’s a desktop and an elite. I wish I had taken more time to pick a better HP because for the first 6 months, we had nothing but problems. And now, we’re having problems with the CD ROM and audio. Gotta love technology.

  251. I have a Compac SR2050NX. It has served me well over the past 3 years. The tech support I’ve got has been great, especially when I upgraded my ram from 1g to 2. The bundled bloatware/trialware that came with the computer I could do without though. It was a chore to remove it every time I had to do a system restore. Installing Norton over the trial version was especially troublesome.I would suggest using a trial disc instead. My space is limited now and an HP laptop with 64bit and 4g of ram would probably do me good for the next 3 years. My first Computer was home built 7 years ago and Directv did it in when they installed service making me purchase the one that I have now $600 vs over $2000 for my first one.

  252. I really love HP products, doesn’t matter which product. I am especially a fan of their printers. They have always been well designed and reliable (well, except for the disasterous LJ5 series) and last forever. Once or twice I strayed from the HP printers, much to my regret. As long as HP makes printers, I will own one.

  253. HP has always meant value to me and my family. We own a hp printer right now that was affordable and is reliable offijet 4215xi all in one. hp is a brand that has proven its longevity in the market.
    tvollowitz at aol dot com

  254. My one large purchasing mistake was not buying a HP printer a few years back. Since then, I’ve bought them for myself and family members with years of great results.

  255. I’ve owned an HP printer for about 3 years now and use it frequently. Unfortunately my current laptop is on the verge of death and I was looking to buy a new HP. I’d much rather win one.

  256. I’ve used HP Laserjet III’s continuously for 18 years (you read that right!). My personal unit is 19 years old…I’ve supplemented that with a Laserjet 4050 (10 years old) , which cranks out the paperwork with ease. One of my customers purchased an HP color laser printer for their business – they love it – and the savings, because of the high volume of color work they produce. On the computer side of things, unlike some other laptop manufacturers, HP makes it’s service manuals available for download from the web. This saves us an incredible amount of time doing minor repairs or updates. In our lab., we’ve always used HP Test Equipment (now Agilient) whenever possible.

  257. I currently own and am using a dv9700 HP Laptop. I love it so much! it runs buitifully and i cant live without it. i love HP because of all their products I own (2 printers, 2 laptops, 1 home pc, 2 monitors, etc…) none off them has failed (exept my laptop, which has a crackded screen but thats because i dropped it but the hardrive still works fine). I need another laptop for school though… *wink wink, nudge nudge*

  258. I have an HP printer and wished I had a HP laptop. My dad bought a dell and it is trash. I used to own a HP desktop and loved it, unfortunately it broke and we just didn’t have enough money to repair it at the time so we had to sell to someone who could salvage or repair it for themselves, and I was devastated. I am currently going to Middle School and taking a advanced algebra class that will earn me high school credits. However, I need a computer to print out certain assignments, but the Dell has driver compatibility issues so I am doomed to going to the library for typed assignments. HP is a superior brand and I would be so happy if I were to win that laptop, and would help me with school. Thanks.

  259. Hi I have had two HP laptops, one was the Compaq Presario v6000? I don’t know which model number right now… and the second is the one I use now which is the HP pavilion TX2000 which is a smaller computer and not as powerful as the laptop in this contest (which is why I would love to win it) I also use the HP deskjet printer and an all in one HP printer and our family’s desktop computer is an HP with a beautiful 24 inch screen also made by HP! And to top it all off I am close friends with a loyal employee of HP who has just received a promotion (:

Well I am surrounded by HP and I hope I can add one more to the collection which would be much appreciated because, again, of the lower specs on my current laptop. Thanks!

  260. Manu love HP a whole lot their mini is my #2 thing in the must buy list right now (iPhone 3GS being first. And I love their full keyboard laptops Wichita com in handy when doing programming theanks HP

  261. I love HP they have the best laptops around, use the full keyboards with #pads, and their HP mini is 1st on my must buy list.
That’s just a few reasons why I love HP

  262. Ever since my girlfriend introduced me to her HP Pavilion dv6000, I have been a die hard fan. True ability to multitask is something I can appreciate since I fix computers for a living. I just can’t wait until I can afford my own HP laptop or win this one. Thanks for a great product HP!

  263. We (my wife and I) still have an old HP Pavilion. It is a 2001 vintage, and it still works. But it would be great to replace it with something a bit more recent.

HP always had a reputation of good service, but that is not necessarily true here (South Africa) so far away from the USA. So a bit more attention to overseas support would be appreciated, because – believe it or not – there is a WORLD outside the USA!!

  264. My camera is an HP, my printer is an HP. Together I use the two to print out some amazing photos because to me, HP is more than just laptops.

  265. I help people choose laptops often and i always tell them to get HP and Compaq too because i have to pre configure and fix them in the future and i find it easier to work with HP systems than others and there isn’t a ton of processes and no spyware is pre installed on them by HP. I just talked 2 people into buying the same amd x2 HP model from a retailer as i was there shopping for my stepdad and bought his amd x2 HP Pavilion laptop for 499.99 also a 2nd HP printer for 69.99 which just pwns!(after $40 rebate if buy laptop with it) The new technology in HP three-in-ones is awesome by the way!
Easy setup, Easy scanning, printing, copying, aligning, installing of everything and nice design. (might not come with usb cable though but you should have one laying around.)
I once had a win98 offbrand laptop long ago which was slow and laggy and couldn’t do anything.
I would love a new one! ::tailwag::
I wish i win because; A: i’m broke (2 babies -that’ll do it.) B: i am constantly helping others on their vista systems and i use XP on my 2 desktops. C: I’m always on the go and at a place where there is wi-fi or wired but my hands aren’t blessed with a glossy black HP laptop so i find the tv and then snoring begins shortly after.

    HP all the way!
That’s all i have to say.

    p.s. HP mice even pwn! GM324AA \ M859PU
a few of these should last me a lifetime, unlike other mice.

Thanks HP and Chris! for this opportunity..
    Sincerely, J.B

“If you drop your HP or Compaq laptop, you better stick to an HP Desktop and some L brackets.”

  266. I worked at HP on the iPaq team several years ago and they were a great place to work. I’d have to say my favorite HP product was actually an old Compaq notebook I had. It was a 386 running Windows 3.11. It booted and shutdown faster than almost any other machine I’ve ever had. Forget that fact that it weighed a ton, or couldn’t hold a charge for more than 30 minutes, or had a funky scroll ball mouse on the side of the monitor–this laptop was all business!

  267. I love HP products. My HP 12C Calculator dates back to 1988, my HP ScanJet 4P Scanner & HP DeskJet 855CSE Printer both date back to 1996, & my HP LaserJet 2000d date back to 2002. All of their products still work & have been maintenance free!

  268. I’ve been using an HP Pavillion ze2115 for years and it’s been a real workhorse. Recently, I switched it to ubuntu 9.04 and it’s amazing to use. It even works with a USB HDTV tuner that couldn’t run under XP. I’ve also used more HP printers than I can possibly name.

I think they have great products that are reliable, sturdy and reasonably priced.

  269. Customer service beats all else–plus HP has been making great work for decades–they refused to get addicted to military contracts and HAD to be good.

  270. I have a HP Pavilion HDX16t laptop that I really like, and we got my daughter a HP G60-127NR laptop as a Christmas present last year. I use my laptop for mainly for work. It is great when on a business trip because I can play DVD’s and they look fantastic on the wide screen. My daughter really enjoys hers as well. We have never had a problem with either one and I would love to have another one for my son.

  271. I love HP. I own a HP desktop, and I have owned two HP printers, and a HP scanner. I also just talked my sister into buying a HP laptop for school this year. HP is the only PC brand that I trust, and I have used it for years. Even my mom uses HP everything – PC, Printer, Paper, etc. I would LOVE to win this, I could so use a laptop! I just started a small business and this would be such a big help. Especially since i talked my sister into buying a HP laptop – I’d love to have one to match hers! :)

Thank you so much for the chance.

  272. My first and second personal computers were HPs and they both lasted for longer than the ‘expected’ length of time. The one I have now is not (bought it because I needed a new one and it was on sale), and although it is a perfectly good machine, I doubt it will last as well as the HPs did.

  273. I bought a new HP desktop a couple months ago and Like it very much. Compered to other computers it had more memory, an internal WiFi and the fastest processor for the least money. Also I know HP for its quality.

  274. I don’t own an HP computer, yet …. but I do own an HP Photosmart printer. I love it! I’ve had quite a few printers that all eventually just stopped working but this one is wonderful! I love the print quality and the fact that it functions so effortlessly. Thank you for the great giveaway!

  275. Thanks for posting the contest – this is exciting! At my office, we use HP desktop computers, and they are fantastic, very reliable. Plus we’ve been using the same two HP laptops for all our community work for the last 5 years, and those computers have been very faithful.

I met Angela LoSasso at an event hosted by Richard Welch, and she showed me her mini HP laptop, and I thought it was really neat that you could customize the look (it was pink!). Plus, it’s such a handy size.

Thanks for making life a easier, HP.

  276. I bought a nice little HP buddle for myself as a Christmas present–The flat screen moniter is crystal clear with great color–the computer itself is fast and has lots of memory and I got it all for a reasonable price.

  277. I have and old HP laptop and love it except the battery is yesterdays news and it just is slow. About 700 Mips. When I travel I’m always looking for an electrical outlet and it weighs in at severl pounds. Not easy to move. Anyhow, I love HP stuff and will get a new (HP) one when I can afford it. Not now though

  278. Well Hp printers are the best printers i have used, considering colour and general picture quality and HP computers are fast and are easy to use, with mine i have haven’t experienced many problems at all, it has a good memory capacity and the allocated ram allows me to run many applications at once without major lag. Also i have known many people with various HP technologies and they have always said that they run great.

It would be great for me to win this HP laptop because i would go see my relatives more as i don’t currently have a laptop so I have been on my PC all holiday.

  279. I own an HP all in one print for years. I t has been very good to me. I also own and HP lap top, and small photo printer.

  280. I have owned HP printers and they are reliable. The only thing is the updates are a pain sometimes and they seem to have lots of updates on driver but overall I have been pleased. I have heard good things about their laptops.

  281. My very first desk dop was a HP – it was enormous but worked like a charm. HP is a fab brand and I’d be proud to own another one,

  282. I’ve got an HP all-in-one printer/scanner/copier sitting on my desk right next to me. Convenient for a home office.

  283. I have everything HP…I never have problems with my computer, printer etc. I have had them forever and they just last. My photosmart printer makes my life so easy when it comes to managing the photos of all 5 of my boys. It contains so many feature options and i always print the perfect picture!

  284. I had a printer that was an hp i can no longer use it because it is not compatible with my operating system. I have to say that my experience was very positive. I would love to win this lap top, thanks for the opportunity.

  285. I currently have a dell laptop from college which I am praying won’t die until I finish my thesis in May because I don’t have enough money to buy a new one due to college bills. I really could use a new computer! Help out the struggling school teacher and college student!! Thanks! kaitlin5m[at]yahoo.com

  286. I use to burn through a computer a year, until I bought a HP 3 years ago. I would love to have a upgrade just as reliable. Thanks for a chance to win one!

  287. HP has great products. I have no idea what my first computer was. I do remember I was one of the lAST ONES TO LEARN ABOUT THEM THOUGH.

  288. I work around several different brands of servers, but HP servers are by far the most popular and rock solid.

  289. When it comes to printers, HP is an outstanding choice to make. I’ve still got an old deskjet that works beautifully with my HP Pentium 3 desktop running ME. I have never had anything crash on there. My main printer is a PSC 1510. I love the ability to scan things into my windows machine and make copies without having my computer on! HP inks are amazingly colorful and have never failed me. I will never go for any other brand when looking for a new printer. At the moment, I’m looking to get a wireless printer to take with me to college this year. A new HP laptop would be a great accessory to this!

  290. I’ve been homeless for eleven years. A friend of mine asked me if I wanted a Laptop. A friend of his, a nurse, wanted a new one. She was giving one away. It took a few months. After a techie friend cleared her data off I got it. It’s a Compaq Presario V2000. I’ve had access to 6 or 7 Laptops in the last few years (most of them at least 9 years old. Legally.) This is one runs great.

  291. We have an HP computer and an HP printer. Would sure like to have an HP laptop to complete the family :-)
I like having a name I can trust.

  292. I first used an HP printer in college and it saved my life, well, my sanity, anyways. Being a graphic design major I depended a lot on my printer and went through three different ones before I got my LaserJet and i never looked back. Thanks a bunch HP! If not for you, I’d still be in school!!

  293. Hey i love HP it was one of my first laptops ive ever had, but sadly it kinda died because the the mobo failed =( lol w/e
i still think HP is awesome

  294. Hey Chris i’d just like to say thank you for all your videos that have really helped me with problems in my life. I’d also like to say that I’ve used HP computers and they have never disappointed me and i hope it stays that way.

Unfortunately after reading the contest rules I cannot win due to the fact I live in Canada. Congrats to whoever wins the laptop and keep up the good work Chris !

  295. My first computer was a HP and always performed fine until it got outdated. I then got another brand which was on sale and which is always given me trouble. It would be so sweet to own a HP laptop as I never owned a lap top. Thanks for this contest.

  296. when I think of HP products, I think of quality that is made to last! There are many manufacturers of ‘junk’ out there today… HP is definately NOT one of them!

  297. i’ve been drooling over the HP photosmart printers…i take so many photos and it would be awesome to not have to run to the drug store and pay too much every time that i want to print and share my photos.

  298. I own 2 HP desktops, an HP laptop, and 2 HP printers so I guess that makes me a fan of HP. I was a fan of Lockergnome years ago, but somehow lost touch. Great to see that Chris is still helping out those of us who are not real techies.

  299. I have the HP Scanjet G3110 and it works wonderfully. I love the easy touch buttons that automatically do everything I need!

  300. I love HP – that is what I am using right now and I am going to get a new HP desktop within the next month – would love to win the laptop! Thanks for having the giveaway!

  301. HP IS THE BEST! I have a hp computer and i love it. Now I do admit that once i considered getting a gateway but i just couldn’t do it. HP is just to good at making computers. Not to mention they are affordable which is what everyone these days is looking for. (but i’m still looking foward to discounts like anyone else would so my son can have a hp computer and understand why I am so in love with HP.)

  302. I’m writing this on a HP Pavilion desktop, but would love to have one of their laptops for working away from here. Very reliable, and I’ve had two other Pavilions before this.

  303. I have a 9″ HP Mini and enjoy the flexibility it offers in being mobile. Even moving around my house with it is simpler than my older notebook. I admit to having TouchSmart-lust. It is a totally cool machine from what I have seen. I even think I could get my husband to touch it!

  304. My wife has an HP Pavillion dv8000 laptop. It was a Christmas present for her about 4 years ago. The thing runs great and I’ve never had any issues with it. Likewise with the HP printers. We have an officejet 5510 and a laserjet p2015. I recently gave my brother-in-law my old a laserjet 6l. HP makes the best printers hands down.

  305. Over the years I have used HP printers almost exclusively. I say almost because one time I was given another brand to use and I couldn’t give it away fast enough.

In my opinion no company makes more quality, feature rich and reliable printers than HP.

While I have not yet had the pleasure of owning a HP PC I would have to believe that they make a fantastic product considering how well they make printers. Thanks HP for all your years of reliable service.

  306. We have an old desktop HP It`s been a great computer.I sure would love to win an HP laptop!! Needless to say the kids would probably want to slip it from me!!

  307. HP products are really dependable and great forom my experience! I have owned tree PCs from HP and two laptops since 1998 and they have all run smooth, over time i needed faster and faster computers.

  308. Hey Chris,
I am using my old gateway desktop and my wife’s compaq laptop. If I win, I am actually going to give it to her, because I love her so :). I really dont have much use for a laptop since I game a lot. Thanks

  309. I would love an HP laptop. I have owned 5 desktop hp computers and have been very pleased with them. Every printer I have purchased has also been an HP. My wishlist would be to have an HP laptop too!

  310. I use an HP laptop every day and love it. We’ve had two HP printers and never had a problem with it. We will continue to use their products.

  311. My very first HP product was their scientific calculator…you know. Same as all those business majors but with other functions like logs, sin, and such…..and the ENTER button. I haven’t been able to properly use a calculator with and = button ever since. My husband stole the calculator from me. It’s still working after 25+ years. I think it was a 110C, but don’t quote me on that. Great product.

My second HP product was a hand me down laser jet, back in the day when there was no such thing as color printers. I didn’t use it after the cartridge ran out though. Since it was still cutting edge, I couldn’t afford the cartridges. Besides, I had just bought a IBM PC with a hard drive and an external modem. Any having a flashback. My cell phone can do more now!

We are shy two computers in our household. Daughter needs to have a computer with the latest version of MS Office, and son needs a laptop to take notes. He’s in his first semester and finding he writes to slow. Send it our way. We’ll drive it ’til the wheels fall off!

  312. I have only had Dell computers but have heard lots of wonderful things about HP. I would love to win this as I need a laptop to do my work on. My husband and I share our computer and it would be great to be able to have our own so we can be more productive in a timely manner.

    Thank you for the consideration.

  313. My first computer as and HP and I loved it. I’ve never had a more reliable computer since. I also have an HP printer and just recently got a new printer and gave the HP to a friend. She says it works great and she loves it.

  314. I own a HP Vectra. Its a little old has a 900 MHz Processor and I’ve only gotten it to max out at 512 RAM. It runs with windows 2000. I’ve always been fond of the vectra from using it in school. I’ve always loved HP computers and wish I could own one again cause the Vectra I had is gonna give up the ghost sometime… HOpe not soon….

  315. This is our 2nd HP desk top which includes and HP monitor and HP photosmart al-in-one printer…the HP has seen my 3 daughters and all the freinds through High school and college and now the grandkids with sesame workshop and nick jr..I would love a laptop, thanks for the chance to win and HP.

  316. Hey Chris,

The first time i tried HP i was not sure how there service was or products. Once getting my Hp mini 1101 because thats all i can afford, it was actually really amazing. The thing that really made me satisfied was there service. It just makes you so happy when finished speaking to one of the reps because you know your satisfied. After that i started custom buiilding computers which now am addicted to. I would love to have another chance to own a HP. Thanks so much for reading.

P.S Im coming to gnomedex next year, cant wait!!!!!

  317. Back in 1981, working at a hospital, my buddy and I would often chat about tech stuff. Being a bio-medical tech, he raved about HP. He said there was workmanship, quality, and as he put it, “pride” in every HP device that came in to the hospital. HP were made by engineers and it showed, he said. Well, I put in for an HP-11C and it was love at first sight. Slim, trim, elegantly machined, with all the right buttons in all the right places. This little baby served me faithfully for over 25 years. With quality like that, I know you can’t go wrong with an HP! Thanks for the memories, Bill and Dave!

  318. i have owned a hp desktop never a laptop , the hp was the best dame computer i ever owned easy to work on easy to understand hell the one i did have lasted me 10 dame years long time for a computer

  319. The last laptop I owned was a HP, which ran beautifully for many years. After spotting a Gateway on sale in the paper one morning at a price I couldn’t pass up, I decided to finally replace it. After the trouble I’ve had with this hunk a junk, I’d love to switch back to HP again.

  320. Hello! I have two HP systems, one older laptop that I use to much and it over heats on me now, and a desktop that I have had for years. I always stick with HP’s when I buy a new system and have used them since I can remember (2000) I like them best for some reason. It seems like they really try to keep their customer’s involved and their prices competitive. With kids in school and college soon, I know I will be buying more soon! Thank you! :0)

  321. HP has always been printers to me – time after time, even after doing due diligence, I end up buying an HP printer. Right now, I’m using three of them, all networked.

I like the fact that they work perfectly under Linux, too – we use Windows, OS X & Linux in several installations. In general, I’ve been very happy with them and their support for all my OS’s.

However, I’ve never had an HP laptop. Had a Compaq once (years ago before they were part of HP). Hearing about Chris’ positive experience with the Touch has excited my interest in HP computers again, after some years of not thinking about them much. So I wouldn’t mind winning the HP! Here’s to luck.

  322. Easy to leave an HP comment. I’m on my second HP laptop in 6 years, and my college-kid son has one as well. They’re reliable, good buy for the features, and never had a service-related issue with them. I had to replace a hard rive in a friend’s HP recently, piece of cake, couldn’t have been easier. I also have an HP Win XP machine that runs like a top and never a hitch. And nothing but HP printers here, either.

Previous job I bought several HP and Compaq laptops for field use, I think in 2005, and the agency is still using them effectively.

  323. My HDX16t is my only blu ray player. The 1080p screen is pretty sweet, but so is the hdmi output to my regular HDTV to watch movies on the big screen when I’m at home.

  324. I have an HP Media Center PC that I’ve had for 5 years. It’s been the best computer I ever owned but it’s starting to show its age so I’d be so thrilled to win this prize!

  325. I have an HP desktop right now, but would love to have a laptop. I’ve never owned a laptop. Would be cool to sit outside and get online. I like HP products, never had a problem with them!

  326. I have only owned HP printers. I had one 10 years old that just bit the dust and replaced with a new multifunction printer. I love all of the things that I can do with it and the scanner replaces my old HP flatbed scanner! Slowly upgrading peripherals! My wife also bought an HP notebook that all the kids use now! They don’t want dads desktop!

I’ve had to call a few times for early tech support and they were awesome. Very polite, not a long wait and got fixed and up and running quickly. Even a return phone call a few days later to see if everything was all right!

  327. What do I think? I think I would really love to win this! I won’t have to fight with the kids for my turn anymore!

  328. I have to agree that HP products are very reliable. I recently purchase a TX2500Z CTO tablet for my wife so she can finish her degree. The tablet is a perfect size for her to carry and have enough horsepower for her to do her work with. I personally do not own any laptop or tablet. All my work are done on my PC desktop. I would not mind winning a laptop to test out the new Window 7 operating system.

  329. I have never had a laptop and have wanted one for a long time. This would be an awesome one to own. I have heard nothing but good on HP products. I have used a HP Deskjet printer for years and have had no problems with it at all. I would sure like to give this laptop a try!!

  330. I haven’t had a HP computer, but I’ve used their printers extensively over the years. (Especially since I’m a Mac person myself.) Those have always been dependable and easy-to-use, and have interfaced easily with all of the Mac computers I’ve had.

And recently, when a competitor’s printer was giving me trouble, I pulled out an old workhorse — an HP 1610 All-in-One — and it performed flawlessly. (That’s also the printer I lent to my brother recently to do a lot of document-scanning before he moved.)

  331. We love HP. We have a desktop and all-in-one printer. I’ve never had problems with them. When my son needed a laptop for college, he refused to consider any other brand. He said it was worth paying more to get the best quality. His laptop is amazing. I’ve been wanting one since I saw his.

  332. I have never owned a HP PC, but have been researching them lately as I am in the market to purchase one and the HP seems like the best deal so far. I have a dinosaur pc which I built back in 2005 and it has outlived itself as it is the slowest pc in the house. The HP Pavilion dv6t series laptop seems to be the best laptop that has excellent ratings and is affordable. Thanks for the great contest as this would be one laptop that would be great for entering them sweeps in, especially HP sweeps.

  333. when thinking of HP, i think of my sister who got her laptop during her MBA program. i got my compaq as to compete her. the HP has been able to work more good than the compaq i dont know why. when compaq had battery problems, HP did not have. I still wonder the difference b/w HP & Compaq laptops that are from the same factory.

  334. I had an HP laserjet printer for quite a while. When I got a free printer with the laptop I bought a year and a half ago, I gave my HP printer to my daughter. It’s still going strong. My laptop is a Compaq (made by HP, I think, because it has a lot of HP software on it). The next thing I’d like to get is an HP desktop to replace my old Dell. I’ve heard so many great things about HP’s and I’m sure I won’t be disappointed.

  335. My experience with HP has been nothing but great, I don’t believe I’ve ever owned a printer besides an HP and I’ve owned my fair share of Printers. I’ve also had my experience with HP’s desktop line, and while I switched to Mac I’d still happily invest in an HP desktop, or in this case be extremely happy to win the HP laptop.

  336. I would like the HP Pavilion Elite e9180t series running Win 7. I would start playing games on it. And doing a side business of basic websites. Of course Photoshop should run very fast on it, as I would max out the drive and RAM. So that would be very welcome! And a high end HP printer is a must to go with it.

  337. I’ve gone through six printers in the last seven years. Epsons and Canons. During that time, my g.f.’s printer, an HP, still continues to produce an outstanding product. I’m taking the hint: my next printer will be an HP.

  338. We have an HP all in one printer. It works beautifully. When I have a question the technical support is unreal. They will call a few day after speaking with you to be sure your issue is resolved. They even offered to upgrade my computer to make it work with my printer software.

  339. the first pc I had was a hp desktop back in the day :P it was given to me by my uncle and I later found out the only reason he gave it to me was he got an upgrade and it had a virus :P lol but he did tell me it had one i love hp computers and have never had a laptop.

probily won’t win but I hope i do

  340. Have owned a computer from HP subsidiary, Compaq for a few years and have found it reliable. Am on my second printer and reqret not purchasing an HP printer for their reliability

  341. That’s an interesting review of the touchsmart….I’ve been googling around on it because we need a new computer and I have to admit I had not previously considered HP, until I saw the touchsmart commercials. My experience with HP has been rock solid…but has only concerned printers! My last two printers were HP printers and they were awesome, but I just never knew they were in the computer market.

  342. Never owned an HP computer, but have had a couple of their printers, my current one is an HP “3-in-one”. My current laptop is a Compaq, which is now made by the same folks. It’s several years old, and really needs to be replaced.

  343. My last 3 desktops were HP. I now have a HP laptop that I will give to my granddaughter to use. She is 5 and thinks she is a computer whiz kid.

I recently went window shopping for a lap top and have it down to 3 possible replacements and they are all HP’s.

  344. Well, I did my homework. HP is the largest seller of personal computers in the world. It was founded by Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard, who both graduated from Stanford University in 1935. They started their company in a garage in 1939 (!!!). LOL. Their headquarters are still located in Palo Alto, California, where they began. They have a total asset worth of 113.3 billion as of 2008. You know, I actually enjoyed reading about this.

I want to win this computer because I’ve never owned one! I’ve been living on communes/kibbutz’s the last 8 years and I’m way behind the times, not to mention financially. I have to go to the library to do everything I have to do. Please pick moi. Merci, Arigato, Gracias, shiu-shu, Kamsahamidam, Afraalisto, Thanks.

  345. My first two computers were HP, and I was using HP all-in -one printer. And then I switch to eMachine which was the biggest mistake in my life. I am totally hate eMachine. Wish I could win this laptop so my life will go easy again.

  346. I use an HP laptop at work, and it’s a real workhorse. Never any problems, definitely the best of the 3 laptops I’ve had (the prior two were IBM). My next purchase for myself will be HP for sure.

  347. I own a HP DV6000 Laptop. It has always so handy and any time I need to do anything it will do it. It has held up to all the thing’s it had been through eg, being dropped, BSOD From Vista. But at the moment it is getting very slow so I have been looking for a new HP computer to get. I am only 14 so I don’t have the money at the moment for it so I would love to win this great HP Laptop.

Thanks HP for a great product you have been providing everyone over the years.

  348. I have, admittedly, been using a computer from another company for the past 6 years, but, hey, what did I know? I am from the age of the mimeograph machine. I know, shock. Now my desktop is kaput, and I am reduced to borrowing my son’s laptop to enter this contest. I have been informed that HP is the way to go, and since I am on such a tight budget even my socks squeak, this contest is the only opportunity I will have for awhile to win/obtain/experience a product of high quality.

  349. I have an HP printer now – It is the first printer that has lasted more than 6 months – And, I don’t know how or why but it really seems like we go through much less printer ink with this model

  350. I have never had an hp but everyone I know that has one loves it. I have an old handme down computer that is about to die I would love to win. Thanks

  351. HP LaserJet printers that seem to last frickin’ forever! Not a heavy duty printer user myself, but have had an HP that I’ve only gone through 2 toner cartridges in probably the last 10 years. Great printer and love it … now if I could only find some more RAM for it.

  352. My experience with HP has always been printer/scanners. I had one for about 10 years and decided to upgrade. The new one is an HP Deskjet F4180. I love it! I do not currently own a laptop, but when I get one (if I don’t win THIS one) it’ll be an HP. I’ve heard good words about the laptops and look forward to giving them a try. Thanks.

  353. I’m writing this on my HP Pavilion DV1000 notebook. It’s getting a little old now, but it has served me well. Actually, it has been the most reliable Wiindows based machine I’ve owned.

  354. I have always purchased and used HP printers. Both lasers and ink jets. My love of HP printers goes back over 25 years. Truthfully – I have never owned a HP computer but I would like to give them a try.

  355. My daughter just started High school and most of her home work assignments are either posted on the school website or she needs the computer to complete. So she is monopolizing the computer. A laptop would be ease our stress but with the cost of send two kids to school money is tight on one income. IIt sure would be nice to win a laptop!

  356. I have a few newer and older HP printers, 2 older HP desktops one running winServer and hosts a small 20 slot dedicated game server for about 30 hours a week just fine , 2 elo touch monitors and few hp mice and all of them still work fine
I do not currently own a laptop but i and everyone else in the world wishes to have one. lol.
I would put it to good use and also help other people with the experience i learn from it.

  357. I have used HP computers for years ant they have always been great. I havn’t used an HP laptop yet, but I am sure the quality is just as great.

  358. I had 5 HP laptops till now. I bought this current laptop HP ZD8000 3 yrs ago and it’s still working fine. This laptop still acts like my desktop replacement, and for normal work I bought a 15″ light laptop. Either way I am really impressed by the HP products. I work in the military, and we have range of Hp printers and laptops in our office. I tried mac for a while but I was not impressed so I will be buying HP netbook soon. HP products are excellent and I attest to it.

  359. I have an HP Pavilion a6642p w/ an HP w1907 monitor and its the envy of all my friends. HP really know how to build good reliable computers. I got my HP last year and it still runs as fast as it did right out of the box. I think my HP should last me good amount of time. I also love how the inside of the tower isn’t that crowded which allows me to work on it easier. I also have an HP Photosmart C4480 which is amazing it scans, copies and prints fast. HP is just an amazing company. And i would really love to have an HP laptop to use when i travel or just when i want to do my work outside on the patio.

  360. All I’ve ever used is HP. Never had a major problem. Until something comes along better, will stick with HP.

  361. Well, four years ago I would have said I would never touch an HP computer again. I had a bad experience with a desktop, and couldn’t get the support I needed to fix it during the warranty period.

But this past fall, my much loved laptop died (another PC maker). I looked around for a newer laptop and couldn’t find one with my preferred specs in my preferred brand at my price range. So I went looking. Stumbled onto an HP dv7-1260us and it was the right price. Decided to give it a shot. And I have to say I am pleased, very pleased.

I even had to contact tech support, Simple problem, really, but I couldn’t figure it out. My brain was out to lunch. Yes, the support was foreign, however, they spoke clear, lightly accented English. They listened to what I had already done to diagnose the problem. They were nice enough to point out what I missed in a nice way, and we fixed the problem.

Score 2 for HP laptops. I like the improved tech support and the products are beyond what I expected.

Also have an AIO printer Office Jet 125 dxi (i believe). Great printer and reliable.

  362. I love my HP Pavilion desktop. I would not be able to handle all homework without it. My husband keeps all his business records on it too. This computer is reliable, fast and the flat screen is easy on my eyes. The HP color laser jet 2600n is another wonderful homework tool. I can print all my graphs, assignments out and they look great.

  363. I currently have a hp deskjet all in one printer and love it. I also use to have a hp desktop as well for a few years. Hp products always seem reliable and my dad also loves hp products. He has a desktop and is always telling everyone to buy hp. I would love to have a hp laptop so I can show everyone it.

  364. I had a HP Pavillion laptop with almost full blown features (Fingerprint reader, Webcam, etc.) two years ago. It dead just after one year of use (due to defective PCB). I switched to Dell Latitude. It serves the basic web surfing, daily computer, and document editing needs just as fine.

  365. My HP Pavilion a13330n is to my left and my HP Color LaserJet 2605dn is to my right. The computer is terrific. Just need more hard drive space and I’ll keep on loving it. I am very glad that I can print in color and be able to print duplex to save paper and space. I love HP products would adore winning a laptop!

  366. Hp’s are AMAZING. Its the only computer I allow my family to buy. As well as printers all two of them ;). We have gone through three desktops and all have been hp’s. We have yet to be able to afford a laptop. And my son is going off to college soon and whats a better gift than a hp laptop?

  367. I don’t own a laptop, just a Compaq desktop (an HP product) and I love it. I’ve been eyeing up the HP Mini’s but I do want a laptop that does a bit more than just internet and basics. I want to run Microsoft Office and that takes a laptop with a little might behind it and this HP would suit the bill.

  368. DUDE, i just bought the sims3 and i have a really really old acer…that has like 700 ram…so, i cant play my game. my mother is holding me hostage in this house, and i need to talk to some one ( social life is important to most humans) so i thought i would make some sims but now i can’t…

I need someone to talk to…even if they are little simulated people. please, i really need this HP, i might just save my life. besides, this stupid acer is the only computer ive ever had and I wanna know about Hps after seeing those spunky commercials.

    thank you :)

  369. First I woul like to say that I love the blog and all the content because it’s helping me to learn more about technology and English. With the help of my computer that it’s a desktop and it’s a little old I’m learning it so I hope that I could have a laptop so I could be in my home and school following Chris and be learning more english with programs from the Internet so in little words I would like to be the one that win this laptop. And congrulations to Chris for all the support that everyone is giving to him.

  371. Remember the ‘good old’ HP2 printer!!?? the tank! It would never die! I’ve also got an HP laptop – Pavilion zd7000 and LOVE the wide, wonderful screen, and couldn’t live without the 10 key pad integrated into the regular (wider) laptop.

  372. My very first computer was an HP. I loved that computer. It was the one that I learned everything about computers on. We spent a lot of time together. I love HP products. I think that they are well made. I will always think of them as a company that makes quality products.

  373. i am using an HP laptop right now (pavilion ze4600). it has been a really great machine and taking a lot of abuse. i have outgrown it and the screen is dying… i desperately need a new laptop but i lost my job and can’t afford one right now. this new laptop looks like the perfect upgrade especially if it is as dependable as my current one has been

  374. I have two HP desktops, an HP psc2110xi all-in-one printer, and a Compaq laptop so you can see where my loyalties are when it comes to computers.

  375. I have an HP deskjet 1500 which works wonders, and several years back, I owned an HP digital camera. I still have fond memories of it. My friend at the time dropped it…

  376. I remember my first HP printer back in 1998 when I got into computers it was a deskjet 722c it was so awesome that I started recommending to anyone who asked my advice on what type of computer equipment I would say HP all the way. now Fast Forward to today and many HP printers later I am now using a total HP desktop setup my computer is a m8200n with an HP w2207 LCD monitor and a and a photosmart 2575xi All-in-one printer/scanner/copier. HP has always been a staple for quality products.

The one thing that I would like to own is an HP laptop. I made the mistake of not buying one in the first place an now have a “Other brand” laptop the doesn’t work. Oh how I wish I had a Quality laptop.

  377. I’ve just graduated and I used a HP laptop and printer during my degree. They were both extremely reliable – exactly what i needed for writing a dissertation on! but after much overuse it needs replacing. I’d love to get another HP to go with the plethora of HP printers and computers in my house.

  378. I have an HP AMD Phenom Quad-Core Processor and I love it! this is my first HP product for home use and I am glad I made the choice to purchase it! It has 4GB of memory! My daughter is able to play various games on it and I surf the web along with creating correspondence.

I would love to give my daughter a laptop computer!

  379. My home PC is an HP/Compaq Presario with an AMD Athlon 64 bit processor. I bought it on sale for under $300 four years ago at CompUSA. I knew this was a great price, but I didn’t know what a good computer it would turn out to be. Its performance and reliability have been excellent overall. All I’ve done to the hardware is upgrade memory and disk drives a couple times. Most computers would have been obsolete or had some major hardware failure by now, but to my surprise this one will likely continue to serve my needs under Windows 7.

  380. My desktop is an HP Pavilliion and I love it! I have never had any problems and it still works gret to this day!

  381. we have owned several HP printers in our house, but never had the chance to buy a HP computer. I have read and heard about how great and reliable their laptops have gotten and their regulat PC line. I currently own an IBM laptop, and i do get jealous when I see these new models come out with good technology.
HP is sure giving IMB and Apple a great competition… with innovation and competitive prices!

  382. my pc is an Compaq ,,which is a merged compnay of HP,,,the tech support from them is great and I thank them for their help

  383. I am a computer technican that has over 14 years of experience repairing PC’s and restoring/creating networks. That said three of my customers were interested in purchasing a new Desktop PC. I recommend them the HP Model: p6110y. This Pentium Duo core processor @2.6gigahertz and 800mhz front side bus.
HP has EVERYTHING anyone could possibly need in a desktop PC, media card reader, dvd-rw burner with light scribe labeling, a huge 640gig SATA hard drive, 6gigs of DDR2 Ram! AND expandable to 8gigs!, Windows Vista SP1 WITH free Windows 7 upgrade! Mulitple usb ports and it even has built in WiFi the monitor is a 20inch beautiful LCD widescreen and the intel graphics card with 278 memory rocks!
The price one would ask? $529.99 Awesome!
I am dying to post what store has this HP desktop Model: p6110y but I don’t want to be accused of plugging the store lol.. All I can say is google the model number and price and see for yourself. HP makes very good computers with hardware which should last you for a long time to come.

  384. Our computers have always been Hewlett-Packard. Our second computer is the HP Media Center PC m495c. We also own a Compaq laptop to take on the road. Our printers also have always been Hewlett-Parckard. We us an HP Officejet 621 Oxi All-in-One right now.

  385. Hp has many good products, My current home desktop pc is the HP Pavilion a1030n Yes it is a few years old but still runs great although and upgrade would be a nice welcome. I also have 2 PSC 1200 all in one printers that I love. I have owned many Hp products in the past and they have always preformed great. To me the words HP have always stood out as begin a quality brand and I have never had a concern when I have made an Hp purchase.

  386. I just love HP. We buy HP because that is a real household name, just like Apple or Dell. It has never crashed on me. People go with HP because it is a large brand with a great, customer service line. I just love HP!

  387. My first HP product was a printer it came with my gateway computer. After a few years that computer was outdated so I bought a HP desktop and have been using it for the past 6 years and it has been fine. I also got a printer a long with the computer. Basically with a few ram upgrades and a graphics card update your HP computer will last quite a long time.

  388. I love HP. The one I am on now is an HP. Unfortunately, it is getting outdated and I would love to own another one. Thank you for the opportunity.

  389. i have an HP printer both at home and at work. Also at work, we have a networked HP Printer with the attachment for printing both sides of the page. I love it for longer documents.

  390. HP has a significant presence in my community. I remember visiting their campus in the early 1990’s and finding out they were already pushing environmentally friendly stuff like refillable ink cartridges. I currently own an HP all-in-one printer.

  391. We’ve always had HP computers & printers and they have been very reliable. We received a Dell a few years ago as a hand me down and I really want another HP!

  392. My first PC was a Compac Presario. Since then, we have owned 2 HP laptops and an HP printer. In my opinion, they are the most reliable computers on the market.

  393. Im typing from a HP laptop right now. this is my first one and i must say for the past two years it has performed like a champ. Previous to this laptop i was always a Mac guy, but HP has changed my opinion considerable. Thanks HP, i love ya man!

  394. I have always purchase HP products-my very first computer was an HP ~I was hooked from the start! Will continue to purchase their products for life! Great giveaway-hope I win!! Thank you

  395. I work repairing computers and find that HP computers stand up quite well against it’s competitors. The only drawback I find is some of the included trial software etc. I currently use a HP scanner in one of my computer setups in my home office and it works very well.

  396. I’ve owned two HP printers and I now use a old
40gb laptop that I loaded with PC Linux.
I’ve bought my daughters HP laptops before but
    I use Macs and Gateway.

I got this grand pa from Ebay. What a shocker!
It works well. Still charge in the battery and just
a issue with the hinge works well.

My printers worked well. They were the inexpensive
desk jets. I had to call HP once. Customer service
was fast and helpful. Sadly the HP laptop I
bought my girl (twins) died. She is a bit rough
with things her parents buy but not her…
    Well another story another day.

  397. I had a HP laptop back in school, I loved it. It was my first computer and it lasted for years.

I still have a few old hp desktops in my house.

I would recommend Hp to anyone, they last forever.

  398. Hello, I’m a technology reviewer and also a gamer. When I bought my laptop in January, 2008 I thought it had new hardware and was good. I knew that I was ripped off on buying my HP Pavillion dv2745se laptop for a thousand dollars. The GPU is outdated, the CPU is slow, and the HDD and DVD drive keeps clicking any now and then. In the past I owned a HP Officejet and it broke down so I now own an HP Photosmart printer which works very well. I just wish that my laptop works that well. I would like a laptop which can give me more power then this old one that HP still tried to sell. I would like to try out, review, and be a winner for the HP Pavilion dv6t series laptop. I know gaming isn’t great on laptops but I want to at least run non-resource intensive games on my laptop which the HP Pavillion dv2745se with a bad motherboard and 7150m GPU has failed to show me. Please HP – your laptops have great design but I am disappointed that my current laptop was so expensive and I hope that I get to own a HP Pavilion dv6t series laptop to let my family and friends use too!

  399. I have seen the new HP touchsmart printers and have gotten a chance to test them out in a store. I have to say they are really good deals for the price. The quality and the features are absolutely great. It would definitely be my next purchase of a printer.

  400. HP product are one of the most trusted brand. i happen to have a HP printer and with a doubt, it the best. Thank you HP

  401. I have never owned any HP products, but my computer guy recommended one of the desktops to my son. He said it was a good deal & reliable.

  402. I was very hesitant after HP bought Compaq how their quality would be, but the HP brand continues to produce a strong desktop.

  403. We have two desktop computers, one is an HP and the other… shall remain nameless! It’s always a race to see who gets to use the HP, aka “the good computer”!
At work, I have pretty much always used HP printers, and they are teh workhorses of the office, for sure.

  404. We have an HP desktop with a flat screen and we hardly ever shut it off. Our family loves to be on the computer and the HP is great for gaming.

  405. Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard started HP in a garage in 1947 and started selling audio oscillators to Walt Disney shortly after. Wow! Talk about an American success story!. In business for over 60 years, they must be doing something right. I always research ad nauseam before I consider getting something (as if you couldn’t tell). I’m never disappointed with my choices, from cars to mp3 players.
I’m trying to build my first website on a 7 year old desktop. My 9 year old daughter is taking greater interest in music. My wife scrapbooks and needs access to our photos… My research has led me to HP! Besides, not that my opinion means nothing, but my wife likes the style of the dv6t. She says it is simple, but elegant, which is her favorite phrase for something she really likes! My research also tells me never to argue with her, so, case closed!

  406. I owned a hp when I was a kid . It worked great I would like to see how well they kept up thier quialty control.

  407. My current desktop computer is an HP, and so is my monitor along with all my previous monitors. Most of my previous desktops and laptops were HP too, and I plan on continuing to buy their computers. This one we got in about ’05 and I still love it and it still runs perfect. I’m not looking to replace it, but I have been hoping to find a laptop as my health is getting worse and I would be able to work/game/surf the net from bed if I had a laptop.

    Good luck to everyone!

  408. HP products, in my opinion, are some of the most reliable you can buy in the unstable time we live in now, and have personally touched my life.

Last year, I was unable to find a job after a continuous search. So I figured I’d start my own small business selling commissioned artwork and graphic design. It was then that I bought my first laptop, the HP dv620us. It was a beautiful work of art, with its black lacquer chassis and lightning-fast response. With this laptop, I was able to get my business off the ground running, and also used it to fulfill my dream of returning to art school online! I learned so much from both of these aspects, and in so many more ways.

Unfortunately, due to finances I had to give up this amazing little piece of technology, and temporarily had to quit my art school endeavors. It is my hope that I win this contest so I may be able to enjoy HP products once again, and get the most out of my education this October.

    ~Much love from Monet Phillips (mophilly@rocketmail.com) :o)

  409. Personally I believe that HP makes some if the best laptops for everday life and use. They know exactly what they are doing in terms of selecting parts to building their computer systems. Not only that the price is just right not liked those other manufactures who overprice their computers. Plus the designs that HP brand their systems with is quite interesting and unique; thus, making the computer a true HP computer. I own an HP dv6000 and I love my laptop, it’s very reliable and great for average computer users. HP is state of the art and innovative with their computer construction. I also own an HP desktop and it is truly oustanding, equiped with the new i7 processor from Intel this desktop is the perfect entertainment desktop. On top of that HP has probably the best customer service, often I have questions about my HP products and customer service is very knowledgable. Also when you need parts like a battery issue HP is always ready to help in a matter of seconds. So in my finally words I would like to say great job HP and keep it up.

  410. i didn’t know that HP made calculators, and if i were to own one of them i’d choose the HP 17bII+ Financial Calculator. it’s got 250 functions. know i never really learned how to do amortization reports but it’s good that it has a way to do them on the calc. it’s important to learn , which i will. I wish that HP did more advertising on their calculators.

  411. we have an hp desktop, and though we did have a problem, their customer service was great, the problem fixed quick as can be

  412. I’ve used HP printers forever it seems, I’ve never had a HP computer although I’ve worked on many over the years. The ones I knew the best were the ones in Alaska for the Gwichin Steering Committee offices. They have and still do serve them well. Maybe, with a bit of luck, I’ll win one to use for myself.

  413. I have an HP Printer-Scanner-Copier at home. It gives awsome quality prints. Also the printing speed is pretty fast. It is amazingly speedy if you are just taking text only print outs.

I wish to own a beautiful HP laptop.

  414. It’s only been four months maybe since I had to retire my HP workstation, that I bought at the ubid auction in summer of 2000 for my daughter to use at college. Worked great all those years, until the scsi hard drive finally died. It was a 500 mhz Pentium II, but ran XP just fine. No other HP products in our house- just yet!

  415. So, whenever I think if hp, all I can think of is the pavilion I’ve had for a little shy of a decade now. It still, sadly, is running “Windows ME”, lol. But hp makes good computers, and that baby still keeps kicking. So I’m definitely a fan.

  416. The only printers I’ve ever owned have been HP’s. An HP laptop would be an interesting change if the recommendations are so positive.

  417. I currently use a HP w1907 monitor. I converted from using a standard 17in CRT mamoth of a monitor to this beauty this year. I have to say this monitor has completely changed my mind about these flat screen thin monitors. 3 years ago I’d bought 3 (buy and then return) and they all had dead pixels AND colors were completely off… my HP is completely different AND I LOVE IT! Must be the better and newer technology =)

  418. Man, what can I say about MY HP, Right now I have a HP product, actually is a Compaq, but it’s made by HP!… and it’s really a great laptop!… I do use it as hell, is my daily job tool, I’m a graphic designer, and this laptop isn’t built to use it with a lot of graphics and videos, but this thing is a hustler!… darn how this thing works beyond his limits and efforts!… i have it since october from last year, and no freaking bluescreen was shown and no god darn out of nowhere restart happened!… I’m really surpriced with what I’m using… and obviously I have my HP printer, actually I have two, a laser and a conventional one.

So to resume, HP is what helps me to get food and lifestyle to my house!
    Dude! that’s all!…

  419. i got a hp printer and a desktop :P i have had the desktop for 4 years now and its still powerfull :D

  420. I have always loved HP products and have recently acquired a used HP rp5000. Apparently it used to belong to a well known transportation company and its main function was as a POS terminal. I took it and turned it into a regular desktop PC. It was a little difficult as the BIOS was locked, but I was able to get in it and now it works just fine. It has to be one of the best computers that I have used in a long time.

  421. I always liked HP. Have been using HP desktops at work for few years now and they are great. Also have an older HP omnibook 510 and small pocket media drive but I have been thinking about maybe buying a new laptop, omnibook is too old…

  422. I currently own 3 HP printers. I am a PC Technician who has owned or worked on ALL brands of printers. No printer is more dependable for the money than the HP models. The company I used to work for buys 300 printers yearly, and I was in charge of all IT and support issues for the company. When I came a board they were using all different brands of laser printers that they would install in their customer locations. The amount of support calls and failures of the printers was alarming. Over 85 percent of calls involved printing issues. After much debate with the owner of the company and my recommending we go with HP printers exclusively, he finally saw my point. Within a 1 year time period of using ONLY HP printer solutions our support calls and failures involving printers was drastically reduced. We went from 85 percent printing related problems down to 25 percent. That in my opinion is remarkable! The HP printers proved more reliable and much easier to use for our customers, as well as the programmers who wrote our proprietary software who stated that the HP was much more compatible with with the program coding than all the mixture of printers that were formerly in use. Today I do a lot of graphics work and photo touch up using HP printers to produce the final results. HP in my opinion is the industry standard for printing! In repairing PCs I also find that the HP computers are just as dependable and Compaq computers that used to be a technician nightmare are now a way better machine since the merge with HP. Customers are happier, programmers are happier, and technicians like myself are certainly happier working with HP products. Thank You HP for making life easier!

  423. The one HP product I own right now is a HP Photosmart 8450 ink jet printer.

Every time I print a photo on this printer I am astonished at the quality that can be had from a printer more that 2 years old that I got on special for less than $100 dollars. To look really good needs high quality paper but other than that printing could not be easier.

However, the software support for this printer has been lax. I used to be able to connect the printer directly to my home network and share it between Windows XP and Linux machines. Some Windows XP update broke the network printing option and HP does not seem to have anything that will fix it. The fix that comes up most often on their support web site is to reinstall the software and run the configuration program from the original CD. That does not work. So I have reconfigured and attached the printer directly to the XP box.

  424. I own two HP products currently. An HP Pavilion that has Windows XP Media Center on it. It is a refurbished PC that I have had for three years. I’ve had to replace the power supply but other than that it’s been a very good computer. I also have an HP photosmart C8180 all in one printer which I have had the best pictures and it scans my negatives too. I am looking at replacing my laptop which is another brand this spring with an HP and also upgrade my desktop. I want to upgrade to the latest software and also get a bigger hard drive with more memory. I highly recommend HP to my friends and anyone buying a new computer. Judy

  425. HP has a fantastic line of equipment. They have a rock solid history of leading the pack in the computer printer industry and currently offer tremendous value in their laptop lineup.

  426. I’ve been a happy HP products user for a long time. I work for a pharmaceutical company and over the years we’ve worked with different kinds of devices. From HP notebooks (like the hobby horse nx9005) to our brand new BL460c G6 blade servers, always with a very high grade of satisfaction. Of course we are obligated to try and evaluate other brands, but at the end the vast majority of the printers, desktops, notebooks and servers that we choose are HP and it is for a very good reason: reliability.

  427. I have used HP in the past, but went to MAC for my videos, and I MISS my HP desktop (I know DESKTOP, but I am sort of a purist). I have been searching and searching for a Tablet PC for my note taking, and after reading your review-I am sold on it. It may take me some time to save up for it, but I will get one eventually. I use HP printers for their non shadow good quality printing, and convenience of ink cartridge replacement (just try searching for good prices/quality on some other brands-good luck!!!) To finish, HP is a long time friend of the computer market and have yet to let me down.

  428. I own a HP Pavilion desktop system and it’s never let me down, it runs smoothly and looks sharp too! I have also owned a HP Scanjet scanner which was also really great – even though it’s over 5 years old it still scans the same as it did straight out of the box. I would love to own a new touchsmart! That would be sweet.

  429. I have been a fan of HP printers for many years but now I am seriously looking at HP laptops. I purchased an IBM Thinkpad several years ago specifically for design work and the darn thing crashed on me once and is looking like it’s heading for a second meltdown sometime soon. It looks like the HP laptops are holding their own in the top ranks against Dell and Lenovo so I would love to get an HP laptop to replace the Thinkpad.

  430. I have yet to own a HP laptop, but have two of their printers (one for home and one for school). Both work beautifully. I never had a problem. I’ve heard that HP’s laptops have been getting good reviews lately. I’m not surprised.

  431. We have an HP M7690Y desktop and an HP Photosmart C7180 All-in-One printer, scanner, fax. Both are solid, reliable machines that I could recommend to anyone and the few times I have had to call support at HP they came through like you would want them to. Nice 0n-line features from HP Corporate for updates and the two work together seamlessly. Now, if I only had a laptop !!!!

  432. HP’s have always been off my ‘avoided makes’ list since I have hardly even seen one fail. I have a toshiba mayself which is fine, just a bit cheap feeling, but there again, it was cheap!

I have an HP Photosmart Camera and I have always thought it took outstanding photos.

  433. I love HP. My family has an HP Pavilion Media Center TV, Pavilion Notebook a MediaSmart Server a PSC and a Officejet we’ve had about 7 years. I’ve turned several of my friend on to HP products and at work will only let them replace my laptop with a HP laptop. The support is fantastic as well as everyone I’ve ever dealt with there. If you haven’t tried the on-line chat give it a go. It can’t be beat!!!!

  434. I remember the first HP Laserjet (no number) I saw. HUGE! Helped set it up. Was impressed with how solid it was built, the quality of the components, and everything about it. The first prints were spread around the office and folks were impressed: no dot matrix look. That was 25 years ago.

I have been a HP printer client since then. Strayed twice and regretted it. On my desk now are: LaserJet P1006 and OfficeJet 5610. A LaserJet 6 is still in operation in a medical office printing out over 200 documents a day…has been for the last 5 years. The most important criteria I was given in buying the printer was reliability. No brainer:HP. Since then they have purchased 4 more printers and all HP.

  435. I love HP. Not only are their products top of the line, the customer service is amazing. They seem like a very, serious company. My first laptop was an acer, and I allways had problems with it. It finally broke, ANd I got my hp. I love my hp ever since, and tend to buy hp products. One time my hardrive went out, sent it to hp, got a brand new hardrive sent back THE NEXT DAY!! Hp is very reliable and I will always pick them when possiblE

  436. I absolutely love HP’s printers. They’ve always been reliable and have a very long life. I also like their computers and servers. We sold quite a few where I used to work and they were very rock solid machines.

  437. Family currently owns 2 HP laptops, an HP desktop and a HP Printer. I use my laptop almost constantly, everyday; one kid uses his laptop for gaming (no lag or hang), and husband uses his desktop for research and work (lots of spreadsheets and reports). Oldest son needs to win this one as he his an upperclassmen and has double the amount of homework, research papers, essays, etc this year, plus has to start all the essays for college acceptance and scholarships. This would bw great to help him with that, plus to be able to take with him when he goes off to college.

  438. I’ve owned many Hp products, and currently use an hdx 16t as my main. I have come to love their design and quality, and will forever be a HP windows guy.

  439. I’ve gone from only owning a self-built desktop to owning an HP laptop and HP desktop, along with HP keyboards and mice. HP makes a good product that performs as advertised. My next acquisition might be an HP netbook. We’ll see.

  440. I worked in a call centre supporting hp pc’s and printers for 7 years, and, can say the issues that arose were always easy to resolve. I have owned a number of hp printers over the years, and, have found them to be extremely reliable and the ink cartridges are longer lasting than other printers I have used.
    Thank you.

  441. I worked in a call centre supporting hp pc’s and printers for 7 years, and, can say the issues that arose were always easy to resolve. Thank you.

  442. To me, HP means quality laser printer. Of all the various printers we’ve had over the years, the HP laser was the workhorse of the house; it just kept chugging out great pages time after time, year after year. And the one time we had a problem with it, tech support was right one it making it good.

  443. We’ve owned several computers over the years. Most have been HP/Compaq. We keep going back to them because we’ve been more satisfied with them over the other brands we’ve tried. Of the three printers I’ve owned, two have been HP and lasted longer. (currently using an HP all-in-one)

Even at work, most of our printers are HP. (We have one other brand that I can’t remember but we all agree that printer is a piece of crap.) ;-)

  444. I have an old HP desktop and a really old HP Printer and they both still work great!! I love them. HP really does make stuff that lasts. If I won I would know my laptop could be counted on for years!

  445. I’ve owned a couple HP computers over the years, both desktops and laptops. I can say that they are very versatile machines. You can do whatever you want with them: gaming, office, media, etc… And all this functionality without sacrificing asthetics; HPs have always looked great (unlike those bulky, awkward Dells) I really hope a new HP is in my future, whether or not I win the contest.

Of 3 computers I’ve owned, 2 have been Hewlett-packard, including the one I use now. the only problem I’ve ever had was running out of space, and that’s because of Windows updates(don’t laugh; 10 g goes real fast!) I haven’t been able to afford a new one, and between my plumbing and my tv imploding, doesn’t look like I will anytime soon.

  447. My sister and father have Compaq laptops, but both are getting old (at least in computer age). We used to always have HP desktops since my father was a former HP employee. We also have an HP printer. I’d love to have a HP HDX 16t or 18t, but would be more likely to buy the dv6t because of the price.

  448. I would love to win an HP laptop, because I truly like HP products. Really. I have owned an HP scanner and a printer, and not only they were good products, but I experienced a customer care than is quite unusual nowadays. They also tend to be at the vanguard, technologically speaking.

  449. My first HP note/computer was an Omnibook 300 running Windows 3.1. I still have it … it still runs! It was noteable for having a “mouse on a stick.” The innovation by HP has always been exceptional. When I started my company and we computerized, we standardized on HP computers and have never strayed from that. Whenever service has been required, we were given quick, responsive and pleasant service. After sales support has solidified our belief that HP is the best bang for the buck.

My family has standardized on HP computers. Our school aged kids each have a HP mini and love them … easy to carry to campus and work without a hitch. My wife has a TouchSmart desktop and loves it. Powerful, easy to use, and feature-rich. I find it fun to use for media use as well.

Service, innovation and capability have proven to us that HP is the leader that we can and do trust.

  450. I have never owned a HP product in my life but it is never too late to get one especialy if is is for free. LOL. I am currently in the process of purchasing a printer and I know for a fact HP makes the best printers. I use them at work. Could you imagine, I new HP laptop and to complement a new HP Printer. That would be awesome. .

Thank you Chris and HP for making this happen.
    sincerely JV.

  451. I have two (2) HP all-in-one printers at my house right now, one connected to my daughter’s PC and one connected to my iMac. What I would like to do is replace both of them with one HP networked all-in-one printer with a document feeder like the HP Officejet 6500 Wireless All-in-One Printer. This would allow ALL the computers in the house to have both print and scan capabilities. Currently, if you aren’t on the iMac or my daughter’s PC, you can print, but you can not scan.

As for a new laptop, my company no longer provides me with one, and after many years of having one from them, I miss having one. While I definitely could afford to buy one, I find justifying the cost difficult. My wife has one from her company that I could use if I really needed one, and with all the other desktop systems in the house, it seems lavish just to buy one for the sole reason that I would like to have it. The next purchased computer would probably be a laptop for my daughter when she leaves for college in 2 years.

  452. HP has always been a favorite with me since my days in the Precision Measurement Equipment Lab at Patrick AFB and the Cape. I have used and worked on just about every piece of HP test equipment from VTVMs to microwave signal generators to frequency counters in support of the early days of the space program. Support from HP was always top quality as was and is HP’s equipment I work with and use now. I have three HP PSC printers for personal use and a couple of computers as well. I gave my HP laptop to one of my very special, hard studying nieces for her school use.I also, in my retirement, refurbish computers for non-profits, service organizations and indigent school children and have yet to receive one refurbished HP computer back from a recipient due to failure. They just keep on giving.

  453. I’ve always been a huge fan of two computer brands, which HP is one them. The main reason is because of the prestige the brand has, and the wonderful different kinds of computer HP may offer to the customer.
I own an HP Media Center PC m7640n which I bought in the fall of ’06, and I actually have an awesome story about my computer.
So, I went to BestBuy and to be honest I didn’t have any idea which computer would fit my needs and thank God, this guy could explain me every thing I didn’t know about the different features of the computers they had in there. So, he was able to tell me which computer would be best for me, the Media Center HP PC :D. It was super fancy for me since I hadn’t had a computer like that before. It had Windows XP pre-installed, and you, my fellow reader, may be wondering what Windows XP has to do with my story. Well, it happens that at the time Microsoft and HP had agreed to give Windows Vista [then new-OS] if you’d buy within a certain time an HP computer with Windows XP on it. Two things I love have finally arrived to my room, HP and Windows, now I could watch my favorite TV shows, and pause and play it live!
On the next year (2007) it was the time when I would receive from HP & Microsoft my Windows Vista Upgrade DVD ’cause my computer was Vista Premium Ready! Sadly, I had big troubles contacting HP for I got home @ 5 [if I remember well] and I could barely get an HP agent, before the Support phone system would close, in order to give my info and keep track my DVD. I wasn’t expecting that HP, due to many calls I made to HP Support Center, was sending me 7 Windows Vista Upgrade DVDs for free when I was supposed to get ONLY one DVD. Then, I thought it was a recompensation for all the trouble I had. :D That’s when I started to really enjoy HP Support Center.
As here’s my proof of my 7 WinVista DVDs:
    My 7 packages : http://bit.ly/NX2Ra
I liked this one ’cause it had a DVD case :P http://bit.ly/THQ5l
    with foam! : http://bit.ly/KqCp6

Months later I bought the HP w1907 monitor and then the HP Photoshomart C4580 Printer/Scanner/Copy , and of course, my HP wireless multimedia keyboard and mouse. With a few exceptions, all my office equipment is HP.
Since January of this year I’ve been a Windows 7 tester and even thought this machine is 3 years old, it works as if it was brand new!!!! It is really just amazing having something that DOES work and whose support center is so efficient. Everytime I go to HP.com > Support Center and start chatting with an agent, they know how to solve my problem even if it may take hours!
I’d go to them for questions I had about compability issues with my printer and Windows 7 or others related and they could explain me every detail I needed to know. Now with Windows 7 RTM everything’s great.
I thank Chris and you people from HP for having great giveaways. I remember this HP Dragon laptop you were giving away through Chris’s website and even though I didn’t get one or the HP Multitouch computer, I don’t lose faith I might, someday, be rewarded by something from HP, something I enjoy.
I’m currently @ college, and I still haven’t bought a laptop because I still need to buy so many things for my classes that for some reason or other when I have the money, there’s something to be paid. So, if I get this laptop I’d use it for my education and my hobbie … graphic design!!!

sorry if it was lenghty, it wasn’t meant to be that way but I let myself type what I felt like sharing with you guys about my HP experience. :D

Thanks for reading my story :p

  454. p.s.
If I am not mistaken, I used an HP touch-screen monitor at the Red Cross office in Palo Alto when my wife and I volunteered to transfer their Rolodex info to the computer data base.

  455. I’ve owned a total of three HP computers – two desktops, one laptop – and I wouldn’t switch to any other brand. The quality and stability of the brand is by far the best out of any that I’ve ever used.

  456. Just recently upgraded my sisters HP pavilion laptop to windows 7, I was very impressed with the quality of components and the sleek design especially for how much she paid for it.

  457. My first HP printer lasted many years. In fact, it never wore out – just got recycled to someone else in the family when I wanted newer bells and whistles. The new printer, I’m sad to say, was not an HP – and I was not happy at all. Back it went to the store and a bright and shiny new HP took it’s place. That was 7-8 years ago and I am still using that printer. There is no question in my mind that when it is time to replace it, it will be with a new HP! Those printers just can’t be beaten.

  458. I used to own an hp notebook! it was a great machine, I never had any problems with it at all. It ran smooth and fast. That is until my sister dumped Water into the fan thing (hole? opening?) while it was running… :(

I also have a LaserJet i got and i never had any problems, it has great image quality, and my mom loves it too. I used it for many a school project and I i could never use the excuse “my printer was broken.”

  459. I have not been fortunate enough to own any HP products, but I have used them at various jobs and have always been impressed. And, I sure could use some good luck, I had two iPhones stolen this month, something good happening could really turn things around.

  460. I am very familiar with what HP churns out. I first got introduced to their printers that were of the best quality. Then it was time for college and I got my first laptop, an HP Pavillion dv6500. It lasts a very long time. I loved it because I got to watch TV and record my favorite shows on it and also, it has bluetooth which I use a lot. Pair that with an HP printer and I got very high quality digital printouts. I really enjoyed it. It is a great PC t own. Those ads live up to their promise, you know, the ones with the people making hand gestures and the like. HP products are good and they have become very useful in my life and so I believe that HP will continue to be a product that will be used by people of all walks of life. HP is the bomb!

  461. my first puter was an HP and it lasted ten years. I have went through 3 more in the 5 years since of other brands I would love to get back to HP

  462. haha love HP one of the more mobile laptops i remember having. I wanted an XPS dell but its too expensive lol

  463. I am in desperate need of a better pc. I bought a Toshiba laptop over a quad core HP desktop, and now when i look back i regret my choice. Me and my family have supported HP for many years and have only used and HP printer. HP has always been a welcoming company, Toshiba on the other hand has been nothing but problems. After sending in my PC twice, i finally got one that didn’t have some sort of hardware malfunction, but their customer service is crappy and I’m thoroughly dissatisfied. Please Hp, help me find a computer that i can love for many years to come.

    Cody Pero

  464. Like Chris i am a mac guy, yet HP has show some really great products over the years. The one HP that really astounds me is the one that the screen folds down into a touch pad, just so awesome. And there desktops seem pretty well made, like every time i see one, they have a pretty well amount of power behind them, some companies honestly i dont think even try that hard, but HP has shone some pretty nice stuff.

  465. We have 3 HP computers. 2 desktop and one laptop. Unfortunately the one seems to have died…lightning? It won’t turn on. It’s only 2 years old. We have 3 HP printers also. I had the blue screen of death on the one that won’t turn on while still under warranty and they sent me the box to return it in and I got it fixed at no cost to myself. They paid the shipping too. My old Windows 98 will be put in place of the one that won’t turn on (I’ll get it looked at) as it still runs fine.

  466. Well, when my printer broke down, I got an HP PSC 1610 ALL in one. I love it! It’s quiet and fast and the ink doesn’t break the bank! Thank!

  467. I have so many HP things…I think, like I have a cool white HP printer and I also have 2 dv laptops, well, my brother does, and I have a VERY old hp printer that came with PowerBook and that could only be used with that PowerBook, anyways, the main thing is that I know hp good now!

  468. I bought my daughter (high schooler – currently 11th grade) a HP Pavillion DV2000 model Entertainment Laptop after some research on a dependable laptop w/value for the $. Consumer Reports was the final site researched to seal the deal – so went out & got her the HP. The real bonus has been something I hadn’t researched = durability! That girl takes that thing everywhere and is on it alway! Even when we’re in the same room, if we’re both on our laptops I’m more likely to get an IM or email from her than hear her human voice!!!
Due to the continued success of her laptop, I recently went out and purchased a all-in-one HP Officejet 6500 wireless printer.
I’m now in need of a new replacement laptop; my Toshiba Satellite is on it’s last leg. So, we’ll soon see…

  469. I only buy HP products. I have a HP Deskjet printer and a HP Pavilion Laptop that I brought in 2004, and it has not giving me any problems. HP makes great products and I will continue to buy them in future.

  470. I have two HP’s. The one I’m currently using is a Workstation xw4100. I picked this up after my teenagers constant multitasking killed our bottom end Emachine. The workstation has done a great job with multiple programs open and communicating on multiple sites and uploading at the same time.
My other HP is a pavilion which is used for audio editing. It has stood up to demanding processing w/o any problems.
Our HP Photosmart, traditional inkjet and laser printers have outlasted three Xerox printers in our home business. The only bad HP printer we ever had was the 3820. That apparently was a lemon model since I have several in my junk pile. Otherwise, we have 5 HP printers still chugging along…some for more than 12 yrs.

  471. I have owned many hp products and recommend them to people.as do I like to help people solve their issues with them for no fee,of course.I have hp desktop now that is 5 years old and a hp printer that is 3 years old and they still work like new.thou I don’t download anything and try to keep it running as fresh as p[possible.I would love to have a new laptop to help me work and keep working when I’m away from home.thanks Chris for posting this contest.

  472. I have owned HP printers for years, I bought one other brand, which broke in a few months, went back to HP and never looked back.

  473. I am a PC Technician. I see a lot of HP products still in service out there, and still doing their job in a variety of environments. I think that says volumes for the manufacturer.

  474. My wife and I have HP desktops (mine is a Compaq) and share a Photosmart printer.

All have proved to be very good choices and we will no doubt replace them with HP when the time comes.

  475. Hi there,
Well, let’s see, I’ve owed in my computing lifetime about 4 different HP machines, and 1 Compaq, which probably wouldn’t count anyway. I’m actually writing to you with my HP Pavilion a320n, which is pretty old. HINT-HINT.
Bottom line, love HP’s use them, will continue to use them.
HP-HP-HP- Rah, Rah, Rah. Enough smoozing already…..

  476. Well I am a dedicated user of HP computers, so I figured I should give this a whirl. As a matter of fact, the first PC my family ever owned was an HP Pavilion (which is actually still in our home, being used by my nieces for JumpStart and Kid Pix lol). It was always reliable, so when I moved away from home to start college and I needed a computer of my own, choosing an HP desktop was a no brainer. I bought a Media Center edition computer in 2003 and all my college friends were so impressed that I could watch TV on my computer and burn DVDs. I mean it even came with a remote control! I was pretty impressed myself. I learned HTML and developed my graphic design skills on that computer, and I now make the majority of my income from the skills I honed on an HP. Go figure! That computer is still going strong, but I don’t use it as much due to my latest HP purchase was just last year, the day after Thanksgiving. I waited outside of Office Depot in Seattle with my bestfriend all night in the freezing cold to get the laptop I am typing this comment on right now (which I am absolutely in love with). :) So when I saw that you would be giving away a HP laptop, realizing the one I am on right now is almost out of hard drive space, I said what the hey, I love HPs, why not atleast try to win another? So here’s my entry! :)

  477. I bought a Gateway PC 3 years ago–package deal from Costco. I gave my kiddo our HP PC, along with the LCD monitor.

Fast forward to two months ago. The Gateway monitor turned off and wouldn’t come back on. I went out and purchased an Acer monitor. Colors were all muddy and anything black had a green tint. Had to ship it back to Acer. In the meanwhile I needed a monitor, so I borrowed back the HP Pavilion f50 monitor from the kiddo. It’s at least 8 years old. It works beautifully and the colors are vibrant. I am in awe that the thing works as well as it does for being as old as it is (in computer years), where two newer monitors died well before they should have.

    HP lasts. Plain and simple.

  478. I have have several HP products over the years. Was even able to delta test the V40. Currently have a HP Pavilion dv6700, and would really enjoy having another for the wife.

  479. I have owned HP products since the mid-70’s, when I purchased my first RPN calculator. I even still regularly use my HP32S II. I purchased one of the first available personal laser printers, an HP2P, and used it until it died 10 years later. It was GREAT!
I now have two children in Middle school, and they are each fightiing over the one home laptop, so the addition of an HP laptop would be greatly appreciated, and would also reduce the ambient noise level in my house.

  480. I recently gave my HP away to one of my closest friends as there Dell kind of blew up.
Well what can I say about Hp products; before I brought from HP I was always led to believe that Dell was the best you could get…. Well when I brought my HP I realized Dell was good but HP had that little something what made me pick them more I don’t know what it was but there was something.
Also another product I owned was a HP printer and I must say out of the printers I have owned over the years the HP has been the best and I don’t think I will ever change the printer.
Also another thing I like about HP is that when I had a problem and contacted there customer service I received a nice welcoming tune from the tech guys where as when I phoned Dell they told me to phone windows ……
But yes overall I think HP has just got that little thing what makes you want to pick them.
    Good work HP

    Pete Helmore

  481. I have owned a big amount of HP Products and I must say they just seem to work with me, some stuff I buy just does not work with me or do what i want but these products just seem to work me.
Another thing HP has brilliant service care when I had a problem and contacted there customer service I received good advice and the advice they gave me worked where as when I phoned Dell they told me that they had to get into the root package and then I had to phone windows !!
So yes well done HP with all the brill work, keep it up

  482. At this time I own two hp computers, a desktop model a6430f, and a laptop, model tx1419nr. Both run under Vista and Ubuntu. In addition, my main printer is an hp all-in-one LaserJet 3330 This replaced an 1100A, which still works fine. I use the 3330 for all my monochrome printing and have a photo printer for color work. In addition, I still have in storage an old LaserJet 4plus that just will not die, and I cannot bring myself to throw it away anymore than I would turn our an aging, but faithful, dog.

These are not my only computers. They are the ones I use the most. On the few occasions when I have had problems, the tech support has worked very well. One small point that is often overlooked is the keyboard. I have several keyboards including the econometric ones. My favorite (the one I am writing on now) is the standard that came with the hp desktop. Well, maybe it is not my favorite, I also have a roll-up flexible one that I carry in my laptop bag to use when I have some serious typing to do on it.

If I were to win a new laptop, it would be a gift for my granddaughter. At this time her only access is to a shared computer. Of course, I might do a swap and keep the new one for myself. Grandparents do that sort of thing.

  483. This turned out to be kind of long, so I hope you’ll take the time to read it all.

I run an all-volunteer organization called Walkers in Darkness (walkers.org). We provide peer-to-peer support and information to people afflicted with various types of mental illness, particularly affective disorders.

We’re one of the oldest Net-based organizations of our kind, having been founded in 1991, before the Internet as we know it even existed. Originally, Walkers was only a mailing list, but now it includes so much more, like a database of almost 3,000 mental health and social services links; discussion forums and live chat rooms that allow many members who are essentially rejected and shut off from society to have a community where they can ‘belong’ and feel free to be open talking about their challenges with others who know what it is like, themselves.

Walkers is not only volunteer-run, but it depends solely on small donations from the members who use our services and benefit from them. We have no government or corporate grants floating us along.

That translates into an extreme lack of funds for things such as new laptops and computers.

We purchased a HP dv9000 series laptop on sale, when they were discontinuing the model we have, and that is the machine I personally run the organization on.

Needless to say, that laptop has taken quite a beating in the years we’ve had it. The Gateway we had before it, literally was falling apart when it was retired and we had to pay twice for failed circuit boards due to design flaws before I finally said to heck with this and bought the HP.

The HP has been a real trooper. Aside from the hinge problem, which HP fixed for free out of warranty, it has taken a lot of use and never let me down. So did the HP 3000 (?) laptop that we don’t really use anymore but still works if we need it in a pinch.

But, the dv9000 is starting to show a lot of signs of wear. I’ve even managed to wear most of the silver covering off the touchpad, but it still does work. it’s just a bit old and wearing out.

We’d replace it if we had any funds collected to pay for a new one. Sadly, we do not.

That’s why I am entering this contest. We do a lot of good work, improve the quality of many people’s lives and prevent a lot of situations from becoming what we call a “terminal outcome”.

We really could use some new computers and a laptop to replace the HP dv9000 I’ve got now would help us immeasurably to do our work and keep on keepin’ on.

So, choose us to be the winners. You wouldn’t just be giving someone a cool new computer, but you’d be giving someone a cool computer who is going to use it to help a lot of other people.

    Mark ‘Mongo’ Oberg

  484. HP, you’re a trusted friend and a valued treasure. Seriously, there are few products I put my trust in, but HP is one of those names that has instant credibility. We’ve used HP printers, laptops and desktops at work for years. I can honestly say HP is heads above the rest because your products stand the test of time. We still have HP4 printers at our office and I have an HP LaserJet 5 at home that runs beautifully to this day. A friend just bought a new HP laptop so I’m feeling sad I don’t have something just as pretty (and functional!). Hmmm, that may be a girlie comment, but there is a lot of truth to it as well. Functional + pretty + reliable = HP.

  485. My very first computer was an HP Pavilion and I loved it. I used it for many years before I finally learned how to build one of my own after taking a 2 year Computer Systems Technician program. I was the oldest female student in my class and graduated with full honors at age 48. I love anything to do with computers and try to keep up with all the newest technologies. I gave my old HP computer to my niece for her boys and they are still using it to play games on. I’ve been a member of Lockergnome for a number of years and always count on the advice from the newsletters. Keep up the good work Chris and staff!

  486. Sorry I just read the contest rules and I guess I’m ineligible because I don’t live in the U.S., so disregard my entry :o(
I live in Canada so that lets me out, too bad people from other countries can’t enter these contests

  487. I’ve had nothing but HP printers for years. Been more than satisfied with the reliability and performance. I think that every one of them, going back over 10 years, is still working in one home office or another. Currently using the 5610 all-on-one, but may need to upgrade to one with wireless function.

Haven’t tried HP laptops – maybe this is the time?

  488. My wife and I both have HP desktops (mine’s a Compaq) and we share a Photosmart printer. We have been pleased with all, and will probably replace them with HP when necessary.

  489. My wife and I are professional photographers. We use HP printers and the quality is excellent. I wouldn’t go with any other brand.

    Thanks for a great product!

  490. l personly think hp is the best company to get pc products from I have a hp aii in one and just love it. had my hp product over the years they don’t seem to brake I just gave the old to someone who need it and bu a new model and old one has a second life

  491. Running a smal, volunteer,l not-for-profit, we’ve never had a large budget;
We are always way behind the curve with technology – so let me tell you about what happened:

Many, many years ago, HP (Maryland offices) donated a screaming fast 486 DX with a whopping large 40 gig HD – monitor, keyboard, software – the works. It even had a 56k modem and along with, came a Laser4 printer loaded with supplies.

This replaced our workhorse 286 and dot matrix printer.
We simply couldn’t imagine what we were going to do with all that power – but we learned fast!

The addition of this state of the art technology served to make it possible for our volunteers to learn to set up an inventory database [we refurbish donated medical equipment to give away to low income families in need], it gave a start to our volunteer mailing list [no, not an email list – old fashioned snail mail] and so much more! We’ve worked up to a P4 –
We are still small, still unfunded – hoping…

  492. I’ve used HP printers and HP All in One’s for years. My first computer was an HP and I kept it in active use for 10 years. Can you imagine? My husband has a non-HP laptop, which has not held up like we hoped. He is looking anxiously for the opportunity to purchase the HP laptop. We’ve both been amazed at their great reputation with laptops. The touchscreen would looks great, and will be very handy with his limitations on a keyboard. I’ve not had the opportunity to ‘test drive’ the touch screen. GO HP!!

  493. My experience with HP has been very bittersweet. About 2 years ago I contacted Chris Pirillo regarding my mom’s broken down HP notebook and maybe to give me some tips on how to fix it. My mom is disabled from her previous job as a paramedic and is mostly bedridden. She always used her notebook from bed to keep up with friends, family and a few various forums that she is committed to. Chris, being the excellent, hard working, and overall fantastic man that he is, put me in contact with the right person at HP, and long story short, we came though with a surprise replacement notebook. She was speechless and ever so thankful. I loved seeing the smile on her face as she opened up the box and how excited she was as she unpackaged it and set it up. I am very thankful for the graciousness of the people over at HP and also Chris Pirillo. More info on this story can be read at Chris’s blog post here: http://chris.pirillo.com/hp-responds-to-a-computer-hardware-problem/

Thank you very much and good luck to all.

  494. I have an HP All-In-One that I’ve had for…well, let’s just say it’s been so long that I’m afraid to mention it, and I’m on an HP desktop as I type this.

  495. I have used Hewlett Packard products for a few years now. I’ve had desktops and printers. I currently own an All-In-One Printer, an Office J4540 and it works great. I would also like to highlight their customer service for international clients which were incredibly attentive and service oriented, with a pun intended.

  496. I have been using HP computers for almost 20 years, both personally and professionally. I have never had any problems or issues with the HP products and whenever I am asked to recommend a PC purchase it is always HP. They have always been extremely reliable and a good buy.

  497. my HP pavillion 780c has given me thousands of hours of use, without problem. and to think they landed on the Moon without one of these babies … I’m still finding things inside this magic box to make life easier, hardly touch a piece of paper any more. Thanks HP!!!

  498. Both my desktop and laptop are HPs, I’m now have been using HPs since getting my first laptop in Africa, 12 mbs of memory and now have one with 4 GIGS, amazing!

  499. The 1st HP I had was back when Win 98 was brand new. I’m still using the HP laser jet that I bought with it. Over the past 11 years the only equipment that I’ve never had any problems with Is the HP stuff ( friends with similar equipment have also had trouble free experiences ) So far it’s the only company that I’ve developed any sort of brand loyalty.

  500. My HP Pavilion has had so many sodas spilled on it, sometimes it just hums. To top it off my son thinks the cd drive is for toast. OK, maybe the laptop is toast. Yet it still works.

  501. Own a HP LaserJet 1018. Wonderful little printer. Required some hacking to get it working under Linux, but now it works like a charm.

  502. Being an IT-student, my laptop is my main weapon. The Pavilion dv4000 I have been running since 2005 has gone through a lot: flying beer, a crazy sister and even bird droppings! Yet it still runs almost perfectly. It is however a little bit outdated now and I can’t think of a better replacement than the dv6t. (My sister would be happy too with her own dv4000!)
Also loving my dads Photosmart 7960. :)

I have 3 laser printers, my brother has a laptop and so does my sister. I really want to get a HP Pavilion because it is just so god damn sexy but i have lost alot of money recently due to the unsuccessful launch of a new charity organization. I am almost broke :( The Pavillion is my dream laptop and i would be for ever grateful to you if you allow me to win the prize. I would use it at work and at home frequently. please please please!

I have 3 laser printers, my brother has a HP laptop and so does my sister. I have lost alot of money recently due to the unsuccessful launch of a new charity organization. I am almost broke :(

  505. The first HP I owned was right before the “Year 2000” fear year that prior computers would not “roll over”. I bought a desktop for my children to use and began the journey to learn more “computerese”. I own printers, two laptops, in addition to the above desktop that after a harddrive crash in 2005 with a new harddrive and Windows XP, is still running, still used, especially when special printing needs are shown. Like my older daughter printing her wedding invitations from it to ……………………Yes! An HP printer! Most recent HP is a laptop with a 21 inch screen, which will be in my guest bedroom for guests to use and also watch DVD movies and more. It has Windows Vista, as I am looking toward Windows 7 and upgrade ability. I have also used HP swan ganz catheter transducers and monitor bank equipment in my early years as an ICU nurse! HP Rocks!

  506. Hi,Im looking for a fast 17 inch core2 duo hp laptop.
Im currently using a very old desktop, its memory is 256mb which is very slow for my work.
Its difficult to work because my work demands speed,
I hope to get a good laptop soon.
    Hope you would help!

  507. Well, this is interesting! I went shopping for a new computer last night and was seriously checking out the HP’s. I was surprised to see that, for the most part, the HP computers had more speed, more power and better pricing than any of the others that were on display. I was always under the impression that HP was more expensive than its competitors. Not the case at all. Apparently you can have your cake and eat it too (just not over my new keyboard, please!!)

  508. Service matters. At my home we have several HP products which perform flawlessly. Then I purchased a G Series Notebook that twice encountered problems–once with its sound system and shortly later the dreaded “blue screen” took over. In each case, I was led through repair steps by phone techs, then shipped the laptop back twice for repairs. It was efficient and quick, so HP shas an effective customer backup system. This is what reputation should be all about,; I am delighted with the brand in both printers and computers. Hence, working on my book project with the HP laptopand printer is more relaxing because I have confidence in my office equipment and its support.

  509. I have been working on HP servers, laptops, printers, workstations and PDA for many years on my daily tasks. I was the technical advisor and system administrator for a big government research and developement project. When I started the job, I was introduced to their infrastructure built on Compaq Proliant ML 370 servers. Once these servers where due for replacement, I got the all servers replaced for HP Proliant DL360 G4, G5 and G6 ultimately. We also replaced old Compaq Armada laptops for HP nc8000 notebooks that quickly became our workstations for our daily work. Finally, we replaced all workstations with HP dc7700 SFF computers.

When PDA’s started entering the market, I got myself an HP iPaq 1940 Pocket PC and used the little thing just a year ago. Through all fiddling I did with my PDA, I even managed to convince the various scientists that worked with me to start looking into developing solutions for mobile platforms. I am now working on convincing the company I work for to start working on mobile technologies including smartphones, PDA’s and netbooks…

If I won an HP notebook, It would help me go the extra mile at home while showing off more HP products to people around me!

  510. I’ve owned three HP computers and loved them. When everyone else was complaining about all the problems with their computers, I just smiled.

  511. I used an old HP laptop for years and it out performed even never seemingly more powerful ones from Dell (which I later regretted buying). I’ve also used HP LaserJets for over 20 years. I’ve been involved in beta testing for assorted HP OfficeJet systems that were great!

  512. My wife has had an HP laptop for her job and loves every minute she uses it and believes it is the best system she has ever used. Sppedy and complete is the terms used most often. I have been an HP addict since 1995 and have always chosen HP when price parity was in play.

Service from HP is the BEST. Hate brands that simply have customer NOSERVICE attitudes and will NEVER buy from them. Hp had maintained the highest level of service since inception and is the best on the market today, in my opinion, based on the experience I have had since 1975.

  513. Reading through some of these comments reminded me of my first experience with HP electronics: the laser jet printers. My employer always bought those laser jets and they worked really well and were very reliable. Right now, I’m typing on my HP laptop; I used to have a desktop too, but decided that the laptop was all I really needed — it’s fast and powerful enough to do everything I need to do. My printer is an HP too — my past experience with laser jets automatically directs me to buy an HP printer. Solid and reliable, gotta like it.

  514. I have used HP pcs and other HP products at work, and personally at home for over 10 years! My first laptop was a Pavillion purchased in 2000 and I still have it and use it!
HP’s customer service support is great and the people are very knowledgable and helpful.
I plan on sticking with HP for more years to come!

  515. I totally agree with a previous comment about using HP Laserjet printers. They are workhorse printers, last a long time and easy to set up on networks and printer sharing! I have found using HP products as desirable as Macs!

  516. I’ve used HP laptops exclusively for about 10 years now, and I love them. It’s great that HP has done such a good job of making sure that the peripherals are almost always interchangeable (I can’t even tell you how many power supplies I’ve accumulated since I keep them even after I retire the machine they came with). Spare power supplies are awesome: I keep one at the office, one stuffed under the couch, one at my desk at home and one in my bag. I can only do this becuase HP is so diligent about making them interchangeable. Many other manufacturers cahnge the bits that plug into the laptop on every model, so you have to buy extra power supplies if you want them for every model. At $70-$100 each, it always feels like you’re being gouged. HP just doesn’t do that.

I’ve had an Evo 410c (small and light), an Evo 610 (medium) an Evo N800c (big), an nw8440’s (huge and powerful – still used today), a tc1100 tablet PC, and now I’m pondering what to augment my well loved 2710p tablet with.

And Printers… I wouldn’t buy anything else. If you want quality prints go with HP.

  517. HP is a great company, and I have had a great history with them. In 2001 I drove to Fry’s and bought one of their home PC’s. I was proud to own it. It was the first thing people saw as they walked into my apartment. I was on your show, Call for Help, in 2001 asking a question about it. I have never owned a printer other than an HP. When HP worked with AT&T I owned their cell phone, and it was amazing (It was honestly the best cell phone that I have ever owned. ) Also, I genuinely need a laptop. I am in school and have been borrowing someone else’s. Thank you for your time.

  518. Bought both my sons laptops after having a good result with my desktop. But it would sure be nice to have a laptop for the old man too.

  519. I own two hp computers, a desktop model a6430f, and a laptop, model tx1419nr. Both run reliably under Vista and Ubuntu. My main printer is an hp all-in-one LaserJet 3330 This replaced an 1100A, which still works fine. If I were to win a new laptop, it would be a gift for my granddaughter. At this time her only access is to a shared computer. Of course, I might do a swap and keep the new one for myself. Grandparents do that sort of thing.

  520. I am crazy over my HP desk top, but my husband is always telling me I should have a Mac laptop. No way, I want a laptop, but I’m going HP. Thank you for the giveaway.

  521. I may have to have my current HP printer put down ….. (sigh) ….. yesterday it ate my girlfriend’s gerbil and I think it is eyeing up my electric pencil harpener ….. darn!

  522. I own a Deskjet 895 CSE. I have owned this very reliable printer for 10 years now. I have 2 other HP deskjets still in the box, but doubt i will every use them, as the 895 refuses to die.

  523. I’m a fan of HP printers and laptops. Used a HP printer at work before I retired. I currently own an HP Pavillion running Windows XP and a 17 inch laptop running Vista.

Good luck to all of us.

  524. Everyday I have interaction with a HP product.
At school we use HP desktops in Computer and Media class and they never miss a beat. They soldier on through the CPU heavy tasks with ease and have never caused head aches.
When I get home I like to sit down have a drink and watch tv. A HP Media Center PC is what we use to view our media in the living room. It is on pretty much 24/7 and we have never had a problem with it.
Then when I need to print, scan or copy something our trusty HP PSC 300 is there to do the job. Having such a small printer that can scan and copy is great!

    HP FTW!

  525. I used to work ibn very close proximity to HP. From my wire-cage office, I could watch the assembly line roll, building computers endlessly from the parts that were partially in my charge. Sometimes I worked very late, amid the noise of the line and the crash and thud of the docks bringing in stuff needed for the newest build.

My faithful sidekicks were a HP laser printer and FAX machine. Even in a dirty warehouse, they kept going and going and going.

    I remember those days fondly.

  526. I have owned HP computers for more than ten years. I also swear by HP printers. SO far, I have an HP Pavilion a1737c desktop, an HP Pavilion 4400(?) notebook and an HP PSC 2410xi printer. Gotta love HP! Oh yeah and an after market HP wireless keyboard and mouse!

  527. HP. There’s really nothing bad to say about HP. I bought a 17″ laptop several years ago…and it’s not only still running strong, it’s still one of the most powerful computers in the building when I take it to the office. I got so tired of buying a computer that was out-of-date by the time I got it out of the box…that’s when I started buying HP.
Both my older kids have taken HP laptops and printers to college…my wife uses an HP desktop and printer…I have an HP desktop at work, my HP laptop, and an HP laser printer.
Yes, I would LOVE this new laptop…my old, but still in great shape, laptop would get passed on to my youngest child…and now everyone would be SERIOUSLY jealous when I take my laptop to work. :-D

  528. I don’t own an HP computer, but I have had HP printers at home and work for years and i have to say that they are the most dependable devices that I have ever used. Keep feeding them toner cartridges and they just go and go!

  529. My computing activities began back in 1995 with a 33MHZ IBM system that I bought from a friend. I had the old dial-up modem to connect to the internet. Upgrades to this old technology through the years provided me with the opportunity to learn what a good computer system should consist of. This also made me aware of what I expected from a computer.

I made my first serious computer purchase within a couple of years of buying the 33mhz system. It was an HP Pavilion. I used it extensively and ultimately handed it down to the kids after I purchased a faster HP system. The Pavilion I gave to the kids was running great for the next several years and as far as I know is still useable today (that’s 9 or 10 years). With my next purchase I was short on cash and decided to check out HP’s website for refurbished systems. I made my purchase there and still use that computer for many tasks today.

Of course, with multi-media offerings and broadband becoming common place, it again was time to buy a “newer, faster” system. Again I went with HP. This unit I bought new from the store and it has performed flawlessly for the past several years.

I had the experience of purchasing a laptop from another manufacturer and I declare here that I won’t make that mistake again. HP has been my go to machine for work, school, and play. I have a couple of computers from other makers as well but my HP’s are the computers that I use most often and depend on the most.

One last note…when I go to a retailer I spend quite a bit of time in the computer section of the store and it’s the HP’s that I am drawn to the most: for features, dependability, and competitive pricing.

    Thanks HP!

    Scott Denver

  530. I use HP products almost exclusively at work and I have used HP PCs on and off at home, including the HP Tablet PC I now use for projects. The Tablet PC in particular is a very cleverly designed laptop… excellent as both a laptop and a tablet. And… my HP 4000 laser printer has been ticking for nearly a decade! :) Viva la HP!

  531. I have had HP…I don’t now But I can see they are a very improved company and computer….My old HP I had I passed onto an online friend….and its still going strong…I bought it back in 2002 and to this day its performing with no issues

  532. I own a Laserjet P1005. When I first bought it I thought that I might use it for about a 1/3 of my printing. Boy was I wrong. I print about 95% on that printer now. I am not a patient person so if I am given the choice of printing in color or printing on the Laserjet P1005 I will choose the laserjet everytime. I also have a HP PSC1350 All-In-One but I mostly use that to rpint photos and to scan.

  533. I really need a computer. Not because mine is old or I’d like to try this out, but because I NEED one. I’m on a relatives computer and really really need to have my own. Did I mention I really really need one?

  534. We have had a number of HP printers and scanners, after trying other brands and not being as impressed. I have worked with or worked on a number of HP desktops for hardware updates and or cleaning up somebody’s messes. The last thing I checked out was an HP laptop, and was very impressed with the performance of the machine. (The kids dropped it, and it ruined the hard drive; everything else survived.) For a desktop, I have tended to build the machine, but laptops are getting so capable and so convenient that it may be time to move on. Keeping up on the latest reviews and checking out all of their features, I have recommended HP to a number of acquaintances who were looking for a new computer over the last 5 years.

  535. The only HP products I have owned were the printers and they have always worked very well! I have an HP Laserjet 1100 right now and I love it! Its an older printer, but I love that it prints just black and white because thats all I need. I would love the opportunity to own a HP computer because all of my friends that own them say really good things about HP and I have always had a good experience with them when I got a chance to use their computer.

  536. My first printer was an HP and everyprinter since has been one. They never did die on me I would just want to up-grade to a new one and would give the old one to one of my kids or family friend. I have been eyeing the TouchSmart but just cannot get the money together to get one.

  537. I have an HP Printer/Scanner – I’ve had it for like 5 years now & have had no problems! I sell a bit on eBay & I use this printer for all of my labels, packing slips etc…it has also printed many of my son’s homework assignments (he is now a college student!) and I am currently using it to scan all of my 4 y.o. daughter’s artwork! Love HP – and also need a laptop! :)

  538. I have a HP laserjet color printer(2600n). The first one was a dud. Second one worked. Extremely reliable, except that when color runs out, everything stops working. I have enabled overide because it cost 400$ to change everything. Jams are easy to fix. I am not so happy about their inkjets. I think we are on our third. They either break, continiusly claim they are jammed, or this one is smudging ink all over. I had one of their computer. The dvd drive came broken. Our Compaq laptop works well though. Runs a litle hot and a bit lot of bloatware, but a chilpad and unstalling it works. Those HP netbooks seem better than the acer ones. Those touchscreen I really want. Nice kitchen computer.

  539. I have been using HP computers for years, and have had excellent results with them. I also use an HP psc 2175xi ‘all in one’ printer. I am constantly amazed at the quality photographs that I can print out with this printer! I can, with good conscience recommend HP products as in my opinion the best product and excellent value!

  540. I currently have an HP wireless printer. Works ok, although a little buggy from time to time. Printing quality is fine though. Thanks! thebubbledies(at)gmail(dot)com

  541. I am currently using my second HP DeskJet 820Cse for Windows printer. Actually, I might argue it’s my third. I was pleased with the first one that as it grew old, I picked up a second one on eBay. Sure enough #1 eventually died and I was on to #2. But it too survived beyond its time. Rather than purchase either a cheaper new model or a more expensive one with more features, I managed to cobble together a working unit from the two older ones since each had suffered a different fate. I would most certainly had not made all these efforts if it were not the most satisfactory printer I have ever owned.

  542. Besides making some of the best printers on the market.

They have one of the best e-learing websites on the internet. I send students, business workers, and just people trying to learn and all come away with positive thoughts and new knowledge.

The lessions are short, up to date, with great information.

    Keep up the good work

  543. After over 30 years working with computers I fianally did it. I dumped a diet Pepsi in my HP keyboard. I don’t quite know which keys were shorting out but the computer sure didn’t like the input.

  544. Hey,

I have a Dell inspiration 1000 laptop, it is very slow and it cannot do *a lot* of stuff because of how slow it is. It is very irritating trying to work with it. I don’t own any HP’s now, but I would thoroughly enjoy having a HP like HP Pavilion tx2050ea or something like a HP – Pavilion Laptop with Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor.

    Thanks for your time,

  545. I have a Compaq NX7000 and I love this laptop but the power stops working a lot now and this all started shortly after the warranty stopped. I did not want to send it back at my expense and then also pay for the repair yet be sides. I was looking at the total of both and I could have gotten a new one for a little more so I’m still using it the way it is and suffering with it. Over all it is a fine unit and I like it, just not the power failure I have.

  546. I use to sell computers for an office store and the HP computers and printers were always the best sellers. For me at the moment I have a HP LaserJet 1010 that I love.

  547. I have had an HP Pavilion desktop in the past and really liked it. I have owned many HP printers over the years, still do currently, and will continue in the future. They are in my opinion the epitome of functionality, reliability, and dependability. Keep up the good work.

  548. I have an HP lazerjet printer that was the top of the line 10 years ago and it prints as crisp today as it did the day I purchased it. I have confidence in their products and would love to try their laptop!

  549. The last 2 computers I bought were HP Pavilion desktops, and any accessories to add have always been HP…I love HP products and have never had any trouble with any of them as yet…would love to add a HP Pavilion laptop to my family of computers!! Thanks!

  550. The HP product I’ve used the most is their printers. Most of the printers we have at work– both laser and inkjet– are HPs, and we definitely put them through their paces. The big laser printers have reliably put out up to 1,000 pages per day– for years.

  551. Hello – yes I would lie to win an HP laptop – but I know my odds are are not good. I have never had a laptop – but I really like HP printers and find them very dependable. My mother has an HP camera and likes it very much. So to whoever wins – God Bless and good luck.

  552. I have used SO many HP products over the years. Let’s count what is in my house now – a Compaq desktop, InkJet printer, a Pavilion laptop, two monitors… just to name a few. To start off, the HP printer – it still prints beautiful, photo-quality pictures, whereas the two Dell printers in my house (which are newer than the HP) do not work correctly anymore. In fact, one doesn’t work at all. The Compaq desktop, of course, has never been to the repair shop, where again, the Dell desktop in my house has been about six times! The Pavilion dv6000 laptop? It’s what I’m typing this with. Perfect keyboard, over-perfect screen, and just as fast as the day I first used it. It’s very difficult to gripe about a notebook such as this. One of the HP monitors in the house is a CRT… about six or seven years old, too. It works as flawlessly as the day it was first bought, and typical monitors these days will only last you a few years. The second HP monitor, of course, is a flat-panel. And I can say without doubt that it is the BEST looking LCD I have ever seen. Terrific viewing angles, tons of features, and an awesome display? What more can I ask for? Not only is HP good; they’re inexpensive as well. Your dream machine rarely will go about $1000, even when a comparable one costs over $1,600! I can say in all truthfulness that a Hewlett Packard is THE best computer I’ve ever used.

    Thanks, HP!

  553. My late husband’s computer was an HP — it died shortly before he did — but it was an old refurbished computer. My daughter had an HP laptop back when Windows 98 was the standard OS. I’ve had two HP printers.

  554. I’d love to win a HP laptop. Although my computer at home is not a HP, I do have an excellent HP laser printer and did have a HP computer at work years ago. I find them to be a solid, reliable company. Great prize!

  555. Except for a printer at home, I have no experience with a HP computer, but would love to win a laptop and find out…

  556. I have been in the graphics design/arts field for about 15 years now and have dealt with alot of large format printers. My number one go to was the HP5000 60inch large format for photorealism or super high speed printing of vector and text. I have had many a close calls with deadlines for trade shows. If it wasnt for the 5000, I would still be up printing signage on my old kodak.. slllloooowwww.

  557. HP has revolutionized itself from being known as a maker of printers to producing high quality and durable desktop and laptop machines.

if it is HP, you know that the quality is definitely good!

  558. Whenever I buy another desktop or laptop it will be an HP. I have had a lot of bad luck with my present computer. HP is a good brand that I find I can count on. Very good quality computer.

  559. I want to win the HP laptop
I have en oldie but goodie HP Deskjet 820cse
Its sitting in the basement now, I have had it for over 5 years now, it was time to upgrade because HP has come out with wireless printers I saw no reason not to get one. Its connect wireless through my router now its working like a charm all I ever use is HP product when it comes to printers because the cartridges are easy to install and its easy to trouble shoot when you have a situation with it. Paper jams not a problem open the printer up easy as 1 2 3. After working with IBM’s for over 16 years and now I write blogs its been a good printer to use my last time I used to old but goody I really do not have to anymore because my new HP is on point. Anyone out there buying anything else your wasting time. I remember when I thought the HP Deskjet 820cse was the fastest printer now after the years went by I see so many of the newer models seems like they are always working on something new now that is what I call service.

  560. I currently own a HP desktop that I absolutely love–the performance has been extremely dependable and zero problems–I had been using a Dell for many years and with the sales and discounts we decided to go a new route–I truly have not been disappointed and would recommend a HP. I would LOVE to have a HP laptop for travel since this one has proven to be a winner. I do wish they would adverise more using people who have purchased and loved them–real people could easily sell the product

  561. i am the IT person for my Library. We exclusively use HP printers and love them. We have 6Ls that have been around for years. Curious about their laptops.

  562. HP is cutting edge! I found the new TouchSmart online a few days ago and absolutely fell in love with it. Everything is in one solid piece – no fuss, no muss. And it looks GORGEOUS!Too bad I can’t afford it. This darn economy! But I appreciate the chance to win the brand-new HP Pavilion DV6T series laptop. It’s built by HP so it’s gotta be just as cool!

  563. I have an HP Laser printer and it has been a real workhorse, does a great job, fast and reliable. My granddaughter started college this year and I bought her one as a graduation gift – she loves it.

  564. I’ve had my HP desktop forever. Its so old the keyboard is made of stone but its still chugging along. If their laptops are close to as long lasting I need to get one. Reliability and portability. Ah, that would be great…(faraway look in my eye).

  565. Got an HP desk top at home and just purchased a laptop for one of my kids …could use another one. We’ve used HP printers for years and had very good luck with all. I’d recommend HP to anyone searching for a new PC or printer.

  566. I used to have an HP ink jet printer until it finally died a couple of years ago. Worked great until it simply wouldn’t power up one day and wasn’t worth fixing.

I use an HP LaserJet 1200 series printer at work and that works great. Don’t believe I’ve ever owned an HP computer, but would love to have a laptop ;)

  567. I’ve owned HP printers for my entire college-adult life. They’re reliable, efficient and remarkably $cheap$! I got my daughter an HP laptop and she loves it.

  568. With my generation, computers have always been a very important thing to own- essentially a laptop. Since my days of AOL instant messenger, yahoo email and myspace, it saddens me to say that I have never own a laptop or desktop computer in my life. Now, as a new graduate of high school, it is time for college and that means it’s my time to own a laptop. Laptop shopping can be a lengthy, thoughtful process in a college student’s life-and with a lot to choose from but I’ve come to the decision that I want a HP!

I could be like every other graduate of my class and purchase the new MacBook Pro, but why spend thousands of dollars on a computer that doesn’t even give me all there is to offer! HP computers are affordable portability! They come equipped with the basic Windows Vista home package, most with a free upgrade to Windows 7. Top of the line processors, with great hard drives, and tons of cool extras- like built in web cams, microphones, blu-ray players, and tons more- you can’t go wrong! Now, my days of facebook, skype web cam chatting, and outlook email can be used to the best of their ability on a laptop that gives me 110%.

The only thing standing in my way now is the price. Although HP provides great affordable prices, I am a college student- and the only networking mechanism I can afford right now is a stamp. But as soon as funds are up- I will be purchasing a HP laptop!! UNLESS! You think I am the right person to win! So make a young college girl happy and supply her with an HP laptop! Thanks:)

  569. I have always loved my HP Deskjet 600 multifunction printer. It saves desktop space to have printer, scanner and fax (remember fax?) all in one discrete box. I have spoken with people who said they shy away from multifunction devices because, when one function is broken they all have to go to the shop, but that has never been the case with this fine product.

  570. I just want to say that I own 2 ink jet printer and I have not had any trouble with them in the 2 years I have owned them. I bought a new HP laptop for my wife. I don’t regret the purchase because she has not had any trouble with it at all.

Way to go HP. Good product and a good price.

  571. I recently got two HP Products An HP Mediasmart 485 and a C6380 I love both of my products.

Overall (even though I am an IT Professional) these were extremely easy literally follow the prompts and primarily click yes to set up! You can’t beat that!

  572. My first laptop computer was a HP and I absolutely love it. It started out with XP, but I upgraded to 2 gigs of ram and re-formated with vista. Ever since, I have noticed a speed decrease and I think it is time for an upgrade.

    Thank in advance

  573. Wow this is a great site! Im from south africa and I am an electronics student, i really need a computer in order to continue with my studies but I lack the financial means to by it for myself because mu job doesnt pay me enough to pay for the college fees and the text book and laptop…

  574. My HP deskjet printer still delivers good results after a lot of years. I used to work on a HP pc and these machines are very robust and fast.

  575. At Syracuse University, where I teach law to undergraduate engineers and computer scientists, my office has an HP 5P printer. I know it’s not the latest model, but it works so well I would never think of replacing it.

  576. I have had many HP Products. Love the printers! I currently have two HP laptops. One is a big widescreen multimedia laptop with TV tuner and all that I used as a desktop replacement with a HP docking station. IT has been a great machine. I also have a Pavilion Touchscreen Tablet PC. Love the smaller footprint and it is easy to carry around. Runs 64-bit Vista ultimate which is nice, although I am looking forward to upgrading to Windows 7. So far I have not had one bit of problems with either laptop. The larger one is abot 3 years old and the tablet about a year. I work them pretty hard too! Thanks for setting up this wonderful contest!

  577. I’m an IT manager for a university and I had a chance to evaluate and use an HP laptop when we were looking to see if we wanted to keep our current models made by another brand or switch to HP. I was impressed with the quality of construction and design of their business line. We unfortunately had to go with the other brand for various reasons but will definitelt look at HP again next year.

  578. While I have always been a DELL purchaser, I have seen a more practical approach to the laptop design in HP laptops. As an example, a colleague of mine purchased a 15″ HP laptop; some time later, I purchased a DELL 15″ laptop (old habits die hard) only to find that, unlike my colleague’s laptop, my laptop did not have a built-in numeric keypad. As I look at the amount of space that a 15″ laptop requires in general, HP seems to have better utilized the available space to provide the user with more features and value than it’s DELL counterpart. Of course, I contacted DELL to learn if there were an option to swap or upgrade my current keyboard (thinking, it is my fault for not having posed this question when I made the purchase), I learned that no keyboard swap or upgrade was offered. When people ask me about laptop usability in the future, I will know exactly what to tell them…my story.

  579. In the past I had some troubles with HP laptops. The last one I bought is STILL the last one I bought. It is a tough little bugger but it is getting old and to slow for some of the newer software. I needs an upgrade. My old HPdeskjet D1320 is still chugging along. It probably needs an upgrade too, but it still works so I’ll keep using it. My wife and sis-inlaw really like their Hp Compaq desktops. As long as they are happy , I am too.

  580. I have been using a HP laptop for years, I currently own a Pavillion dv9000 laptop. It has never given me any trouble. I also own a hw6945 smartphone from HP. I am waiting for their next generation smartphone. I have found their touchscreen Data Messenger Smartphone in Europe but it is not yet available in the US. I have had many printers from HP at home and at work. Just looking around I can see the LaserJet P1006 which is a workhorse.
HP is my favorite High Tech manufacture.
Buy HP and you will see!

  581. I’m a Mac baby primarily because I always worked in graphic arts & desktop publishing environments- but when I had to make the switch to a PC I was very grateful that it was to an HP Pavilion because the transition was made quite easy. It was also fast, snazzy & intuitive, all things which are a net plus. Also appreciated the automated updates which were unobtrusive.

  582. Over the years I have used and owned HP laptops, Printers, and, Scanners – – – mostly in a demanding business environment. They have all proved to be long lasting and reliable. The HP website has also been a constant source of information for FAQ’s and updates and served as a knowledge base for many questions when an unfamiliar piece of hardware was thrust upon me.
