Worst Blogger at Northern Voice

I attended Northern Voice, physically - but I’m afraid my brain wasn’t firing on all cylinders. For that, I deeply apologize to everyone there. NV is the one event I look forward to attending every year (not just because of its close proximity, not just because I love Vancouver, but because it’s my chance to meet friends and make new ones).

Since the week before our wedding in December, Ponzi and I have been running ourselves ragged with getting our new house in shape - not to mention, I’ve been juggling projects for the past couple of weeks (burning the Midnight oil). I can’t think of a single night in the past month when I haven’t hit the sack before 4AM. Ponzi decided it would be “wise” for us to pull an all-nighter, trying to get our various window treatments in place before heading up to Canada for Northern Voice. At its core, that was a great idea - because you’re seldom interrupted by external events in the middle of the night. However, it turned out to be a horrible idea - because I was running on Empty at the conference.

So, to my friends and loved ones at Northern Voice: if I came across as rude, cranky, mean, offput, or generally unbearable (beyond Pirillo-normal), I apologize profusely. I was, without a doubt, the absolute worst blogger at Northern Voice.

My apologies for my post. Thanks for the update Chris. Just disappointed we didn’t get a chance to “mingle” with you as we did last year. All my best to Ponzi and hope things “settle down” for you soon.

Shame I missed seeing you. You are one of my tech idols, even if you weren’t at 100%, it would have been cool to say that I said “hi” to Chris Pirillo! :)

Maybe next time around things will go more smoothly for you.

A huge fan since your TechTV days,
David

you weren’t as photogenic as usual but other than it’s always just great to have you and your lovely lady around. thanks for coming up man, sorry we didn’t get to spend more time together… but there will always be next time. plus, i hear we get to do some drupaling together soon. w00t. :)

I too regret not having a chance to meet you, Chris. Hope the window treatments look great…

You know, there are people you can pay to do your window treatments for you…

I kid. You looked a little worse for wear, but your wife was articulate and effervescent for the both of you. That was a good pinky demon snort, though.

I was going to say you should have stayed home and not burned yourselves out coming up here, but you probably would have just burned more midnight oil on some other project. So thanks for coming — I heard Ponzi’s (and your) excellent contributions to the “online dating” panel on the podcast, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

See you next time.

Never feel you need to apologize for just being human. (You are a human, right?) The cheese stands alone.

but he was not in a talkative mood. I told him how I felt his writing was getting richer, more on point; which I attribute to his marriage. Chris thanked me profusely and apologized for not being more engaged at NorthernVoice. He explained it to me and here is his explanation for you. And here is something else I got at NorthernVoice — 2 days off work when I really need to be at the office. It seems like a lot of us got sick there. On Tuesday a fever of 38.5. Very memorable.
