Wireless Mouse: Logitech vs. Microsoft
Beverly Chapin RE: I Hate Wireless:
My wireless MS mouse is cosied up to the wired Microsoft model waiting to be sent to eBay, or maybe Salvation Army. I finally bought my first laptop (HP) even if I couldn't afford it, didn't need it, and confirmed I'm not a “Touchpad” type. Bought a Logitech wireless notebook mouse – LOVE IT! And I can switch it to the desktop in place of the clunky MS wireless by just moving the USB unit when I'm going to do serious mousing. Next sale I'm getting another LOGITECH notebook wireless for desktop – it also fits my short fingers better. The rest of the time I use my WACOM pen – another gem. But their mouse sucks – now there is s-l-o-w.
Logitech's wired models worked better also, I just wanted out of wires, like Ponzi. With the scanner, 2 printers, ext. DVD writer, 2 ext. HDDs, desktop/UPS, external desktop speakers, feed from stereo – I have to have 2nd UPS to run laptop on power already. Talk about wires and cables. I was an amateur but read the computer mags and made reasonably good choices on major items, like I'm on second Sony desktop (first one still runs fine). But Microsoft sells me no more peripherals. Obviously I've transferred to reading on-line computer info, especially since TechTV went down the tubes. Liked you there, appreciate your newsletters. But even you cannot sell me on anything Microsoft in future – junky hardware and bloated, faulty softwear. Borrow and try someone's Logitech wireless before you give up.

I've been using mice since the earliest day of Apple. Last year I got a Logitech MX laser wireless mouse for the desktop at work. Best mouse I've ever had, by a long shot. Fits my had, obeys my commands, has 3 green lights, which go down to 2, then 1, then red as you use it. When it goes to 1 green light I put it in its little cradle overnight and there it is, ready to go when I return to work in the morning. I'm trying to get the other, not better, half to agree to wireless at home. No luck so far. Logitech wireless rules!

Have been using a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard for 5 years. Could not have found a better
product. Both the mouse and keyboard use AAA and AA
batteries. The mouse AAA's last from 7 to 9 months. I
have yet to change the keyboard AA's. Logitech will always be used in this household.

I bought my Wireless Logitech mouse a few weeks back and I am so satisfied with it. Good thing I didn’t buy the MS wireless mouse because I was initially having doubts on the Logitech mouse as it doesn’t say that it’s Vista ready. But anyway, I took the risk and bought the Logitech wireless mouse, it worked absolutely fine with my laptop and I didn’t even have to use the CD to install the driver. Another bonus is the the USB attachment that is so small (the protruding part is just about 1-inch). I don’t have to be extra careful about accidentally hitting it.

I just HATE these wireless mice ! Im on my third generation now, with a Logitech Laser and Im just fed up to the back teeth. i keep presuming that response rates will begin to match a wired model, but I keep having to come back to my old faithful, as they just dont compete. Now either I have a much better response rate personally than you guys (which I am of course happy to believe) or you’re just accepting the lag in retun for which you get a better looing piece of kit.
Too slow !

I have been using my Logitech wireless marble wheel for more than 5+years. I just bought a Microsoft wireless optical desktop 4000 keyboard, I would like to use my rodent with the MS receiver (it gets better range for the keyboard). Is it possible to use the Logitech mouse on the MS freq?

I’m sorry that James is unhappy with his wireless, I think he should try this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104206
GREAT rodent, even better price. I am almost ready to get a 2nd one, I just want to be able to have a little better range. Good luck with the look.

I recently bought a Logitech VX Revolution and I’ve fallen in love with it. Its pricey, but I personally think its worth the added cost. I actually picked it up on Black Friday for only $30.

When it come to mice Logitech win hands down, Ive been using them for the past 7 years and gone through vairious upgrades and now using their MX Revolution, which i have had for about 2 weeks and although it costs alot its worth it total customizable and if you do a lot of work in adobe products having that second customizable scroll wheel by you thumb is amazing. I have used other mice from apple, Microsoft and even NEC and none of them fit right or have the right feel.
