http://live.pirillo.com/ – Wow. Pixie and Wicket sure were tiny the day we brought them home. Watching them in Windows Movie Maker reminds me of a question from a chatter recently. He wants to know how to convert a .WMM file into an .AVI file for use on YouTube.

The .wmm file format in Windows Movie Maker is not actually the movie file. That format is for your working project. It includes everything you’ve added or will add. If you actually want to publish the file to a movie format, there are a few steps to take:

  • Click the “Publish movie button”
  • Push it to your computer
  • Name the file
  • Choose the quality setting that is good for playback on your computer. That should be the default setting
  • Save / publish the movie. This automatically puts it into a .WMV format, which is uploadable to YouTube

Make sure your videos are compressed under 100MB. YouTube doesn’t allow anything larger to be uploaded, even by me.

Want to embed this video into your blog? Use this code:

Formats Available: MPEG4 Video (.mp4) Flash Video (.flv) MP3 Audio (.mp3)

What Will I Do ?

ok people answers:
- The Publish movie button is under File
- The reason why ur video might not save past a certain percent is because either u dont have enough RAM space, enough space on your drive ( Switch to D Drive as a save place ) or you dont have the thing saved or you saved it and deleted and then saved it might mess up
****GET MOVIE MAKER 2*******

Im having a problem, When I upload a video from you tube-its a narrated video- it only plays the audio but the video is black! I dont know what to do i’ve looked all over, any way you can help? Thanks very much!

What “publish movie”????

It is clear people are having problems with feature “publish”
While working on your clip or photo slide as u go along save as and here give a name to your project whether u r done or not. When U r done completly go to FILE and choose SAVE MOVIE FILE, here give it a name and just use the default folder. This file that you just save is the one you need to upload to youtube, not the project.
Those having problems with % and not finishing the file saving most likely are having system problems. Like too many things open caused the memory to go down. Check your memory regardless your OS XP or Vista. to check memory go to Start, Right click on My computer choose Properties, ??? of RAM that is the amount of your memory. If your memory is less than 256MB of Ram buy more memory or make 1GB which is the minum standard. H.V.

VERY NICE THANKS!
