Who Uses MobileMe?

Over on Lockergnome.net, Tucker asked if it is worth it to buy MobileMe. Back when Apple released their online services, it had a different name. I bought it at that time, but didn’t really use it until the name had changed to MobileMe. When the iPhone and iPad were released, MobileMe really came into play with the “Find Device” feature. If you’re someone who is looking for mobile email and online storage only, then I don’t feel that MobileMe is worth buying for yourself.
If you’re someone who is an iPhone or iPad user (or if you have more than one Mac), you may want to consider grabbing this for yourself. You can have the extra storage online as well as a .me email address.
The Find my iPhone feature is really slick. You turn it on, and it allows you to find the phone no matter where it is… as long as it’s connected to the network. I can have it emit a sound – which I’ve had it do in the past when I couldn’t find it. The most impressive part is to log into the site, press the “Find my iPhone” link, and it will let you know exactly where it is. There have been stolen phones and iPads found due to this feature. I left MobileMe active on the iPhone 3GS that I sent out to Kat today. I can keep an eye on it through the website and know where it is at all times. I’ll also be able to taunt her by telling her how close it’s getting to her house.
I travel a lot. When I do, I take my Macbook Pro with me. If I’m connected to the Internet while on the road, I can easily connect to any of my Macs that are still sitting at home. I can access the screen-sharing or file-sharing services on all of my machines. Any which way you slice it, it’s super simple to get to my home machines.
In my case, MobileMe is priceless. Do you use the service? What are your thoughts?
