Baby monitors are an outstanding option for simple home and room monitoring. There are other more covert wireless cameras that use the 2.4 Ghz band. Some of the newer cameras are very small and easy to hide...they are about the size of a dime. Great for use as nanny cams or even as hobby cams. There are also other wireless systems that can be used in home security applications. There are wireless cameras that can be mounted in plain view to discourage would be criminals. I have had four of them monitoring my house for over 4 yrs now with out any problems.
