Where's Waldo?

I brought my stripey red shirt and stocking cap with me - but where am I? Can you guess from my latest photo entries? Stop when you get to the picture of Robert in his Longhorn cap. Let's see… good sushi, dogs in the elevator, a giant twisted tree, and a hallway directly out of Dr. Seuss's wildest dreams. Take a stab at it.

oishi lists 6 locations. None of which appear to be in the US. I think it's the Seacon Square branch.

Hmmmmmm, Seattle?

St. Louis maybe?

My guess is Austin TX.

hmmmm. i think you're in palo alto. isn't that “pavilions” where the mega fry's is down there? i've never seen an office like that at microsoft, and i don't recall a sushi place called oishii there, so i'm helping to nix seattle.

ya know, i was going to add austin myself since im from TX. but…..

Boston?

I know but I'm not sayin…

My basement?

All signs point to Beverly Hills 90210

san diego??

hey wait a minute.. is that lobby the lobby of Nickelodian?? My Dad used to work there and it looks a bit familiar. (???)

Guys, he said it was in California in the Windows Daily. I'm guessing from all the Cat in the Hat references, either San Diego, Burbank or Pomona. Ooo, is it Whoville?! Nah, I never saw a Peet's in Whoville. ;)

I think your inside Area 51, inside one of the warehouses, inside the Scooby doo van, inside the glove compartment, inside a condom wrapper.

I am thinking Pasadena. I used to work near a Pavilions… maybe off of Lake. Just a guess.

You're in my dreams Chris. Every night…

My guess: Studio City, CA or somewhere along Ventura Blvd.

You took the blue pill again didnt you?

never never land? Oishi's Box? zion? the construct? oh, oh, is it Peet's Coffee? no? Ill guess again later I gotta have my liquid crack now…

earth

He is clearly somewhere in LA. It would appear he made a stop at Buca di Beppo! in Encino…

I'm gonna have to go with Austin, TX but the Buca Di Peppo didn't help since they seem to be everywhere in the US…

…Ok my guess is Universal Studios. Perhaps He is there to check out the production facilities or maybe he has a part in the Cat in the Hat picture.
(http://www.bucadibeppo.com/loc_details.asp?ID=0504 seems to match)

Well I still think he went by Beverly Hills since the picture of the Oishi guy seems to match the guy in the middle of this picture. (http://www.thebeverlyhillscourier.com/04042003/restaurants.htm )

Well obviously you passed through Woodside, California in the heart of silicon valley….

At least make it challenging…

Who wants to play “Where in the world is Chris Pirillo?”

Universal Studios, Rick Moranis's stunt double?

Go turn that longwhorn upside down for me…

My guess would have to be Southern California. I looked at pics of all the locations of Buca's and not one of them had the same angle or sign as Chris has photographed, so that wasn't much help (edit - AP It's not encino, sign is the wrong color). Looking up Pavilions locations, I only found locations in Southern California. None in Texas, Boston, New York, Iowa, or Chicago. I think they're a Socal phenomenon because I have only seen them there. Oishi's Japanese restaurant has a location in Placentia, that is if it's the same place. (edit - Shawn B nailed it…. Beverly Hills!!!!)
The dogs point out the individuality of the average SoCal citizen and the pic of the woman hugging the girl shows the diversity of LA. One last hint is that you see the sky covered with “June Gloom” that is typical down there this type of year. Fritz said it would be like this.
…I'm done

have some extra time on your hands fred. damn!

This San Diego native has never seen a Peet's around here, although Chris in the southtown would be very cool.

And the Buca di Peppo in SD is downtown - looking nothing like that.

And so much June gloom down here. But it's leaving us it seems.

I know a little late, but this is in response to a blog wayyy back…. Well not way back, but about the first computer…
You (Chris), mention Altoona Public Library. You don't happen to mean Altoona, PA do you?
Reason I ask, I just moved into the area a few months ago.

I am saying Austin too. but hey i could be wrongo. hehehe. i like your style.

In your manifest of the things you were mentioning that we were supposed to take into account you forgot the black woman with the massive mammory glands. How does she fit into the equation?

you're a day late and a dollar short Darin…..see my posts above….

You both didn't read the line…Stop when you get to the picture of Robert in his Longhorn cap.
Buck's picture is AFTER “the picture of Robert in his Longhorn cap.”

Ok, I'm taking a guess here. I realize I may lose the 35 thousand dollars and I know I should walk away now, with 16. But I think I have the answer here. Chris was somewhere in Los Angeles. Why? Well in the latest blog entry, he asks “what was I doing away from the bay area” and then he goes on to say he was meeting friends. One of them being David from “Online Tonight”.. and he recently moved to Los Angeles. So, ok.. I guess Los Angeles. That is my final answer. ;)

Is Lisa one of those analytical genius types? (in a good way w/all due respect of course!)

I thought we were done with this, lol. Beverly Hills, check out this map if you don't believe it. I scribbled it down quickly before the chicken men came to get me:

Every place he went was within a square kilometer…. I know this because George Bush told me through the secret transmitter drilled into my molar tooth. =P

To Veronica: LOL! ;D So.. did I get it right? Or do I have to use one of my lifelines?? ;)

Fred: I was around that area today. I should've gone there and taken a pic of the tree. Where is that lobby? Looks like maybe Nickeodean, out here in Burbank but I dont think their lobby is that big. Maybe “Dental Land”?! lol! And I didnt know we (L.A folks) had a Peets! Shows how far under the rock I live. ;p I'm glad because I'd like to compare it with Starbucks and see for myself the difference. Looks like a trip to Bev Hills in the near future. ;)

errr… that was all speculation. I guessed that that lobby thingy could be the museum of art, and that the tree could be at the park around the corner from Boca's, Pavilions, Peet's, and the museum. But I just thought it was funny how everything he took a picture of could be in such a small area. I still don't know about the dogs and the well-endowed black lady though, LOL

Lisa, lisa, lisa! ;-)

I looked up Peets website ..wow, we have several! lol! I really need to get out from under this comfy rock a bit more often.
I still say he was at the lobby of “Dental Land”. ;)
Those dogs look like Bev Hill dogs. I dont know why.. but they do. ;)

LISA! BEWARE! Don't EVER get the manufacturers cream w/yer coffee from the Peets stores in So Cal!

veronica: why? and what would you recommend? I have never had a Peets experience~ :)
