In general, I agree. However, there's maybe…5% that's just so quirky (”John Deere Green”) or fun to sing in large groups (”Dust On The Bottle”)…I tend to really hate myself for liking these songs. Is anyone else a closet country-fan, or is it just me? =P Sould I be hanging my head in shame?

But hey, if you sing country music backwards, you get your job and your wife back.

You're just listening to the WRONG country music…. Try, Blue Rodeo, WhiskeyTown, Lucinda Williams, Robert Earl Keen, or Charlie Robison….. The **** they play on most country radio stations DOES suck……. haha But not these guys…..!!!

Hmph, that's a rather safe group to offend in a blog, since seeing how most country music fans seem to consider the internet either as the net you line the inside of your pickup truck with instead of the outside, or the devil's big, engorged, bulbous tool, or both.

I, on the other hand, love country music. It has inspired me, I can relate to it the best and find it the most relaxing and enjoyable.
I do, however, listen to other music, but for the most part, I enjoy country the most.
You people have to be more open minded…having a closed mind is bad for the body and soul.

I dare anyone to listen to http://www.wdvx.com/ for a few hours and say country music sucks. The new jangle pish-tosh they play on “country” radio nowadays is what sucks.
Then again, everything they play on the radio sucks.

Country music fans are not all the unsophisticated, technophobic rednecks you seem to make them out to be. I work for a country radio station, and recent research we have done shows that the percentage of people who have and use internet access regularly is just about the same as the national average.
Country fans may not be more sophisticated than other groups, but they're not any less. Lose the stereotypes.

the only good type of country music is REAL country music, like cowboys, workin' hard, and life on the range. not trailers and ex-wives and HORSESHHHoe.

Don't worry chris, you will grow up,someday, and learn to appreciate even more forms of music, than just “Country”.
I remember when I thought Country sucked. Oh yes, those good old days, banging heads to head banging music and telling Mister Brill to get rid of that *Evil* Grin or I would 'knock it off his face, Teachers taught, not Taunted'
Who knows, you may even discover that you like the Rippingtons. Time will tell.
So, while you may not be able to appreciate good Country music today, don't discount it altogether, people change and so do their tastes.

You anti-country people are a bunch of idiots. You think that every song is about ******** your sister (which I’ve still yet to see any song on that topic) and being cheated on (which accounts for roughly 3% of all country songs). All that metal is a cranked up amplifier with a piece of **** guitar pattern involving 1 power chord played over and over and over. Your excuses for hating country is that it’s “***” and “Stupid”. WOW!!! Those are some heavy words there *******. Country music is *** and stupid , OUCH!!! There’s only two *** cowboys in the world and they live on Brokeback Mountain, (they’re probably gangbanger rappers and emo goths, not cowboys.) There’s no way that a rap or a death metal song could express as much emotion as a country song does. Brad Paisley has more soul and passion in the fingernail of his pinkie finger than Marilyn Manson does in his entire body.
