What’s the Scariest Video Game You’ve Ever Played?
Several of you have been having this very discussion over on Geeks recently. There have been so many different games thrown out there that there doesn’t appear to be a clear-cut “winner” for scariest video game. I decided to ask some others what they thought about this. What’s your take? What game do you feel is the scariest?

Condemned 2: Bloodshot on PS3… i only have the demo, but it still freaked me out… maybe cuz it was past midnight, and i was all alone in my room.. and the lights were off… lolz

I have a fear of spiders, (to the extreme), so the scariest game I ever played was The Legend of Zelda: Orciana of Time. The first level had giant spiders called “Skullutas”. I never did make it past that level either.

Scary Maze Game by FAR. I’d never played it before so I was bored at 4AM and I went there and it was a really hard maze (You’ve all seen it lol) and then i got like 2 inches away from my screen and the sound was on full blast through headphones!!! I screamed like a little school girl!

Silent Hill for PlayStation.
Unlike Resident Evil which relies so much on soundtrack and musical scores to scare you, Silent Hill is just, well, silent. And that’s what’s scary because you go: “What was that?… Did I hear something???” a lot.

Clearly, only one commenter here has any real knowledge of computer games.
Honorable mentions to the Thief series but the daddy of all scary games is SYSTEM SHOCK 2. It’s on a different level to anything before or since.

One of the most scariest games I played is “The Suffering” and the first ever Resident Evil when the zombie eating a corps turned aroud to look at you as you come around the corner an got up in slow motion…RUN!

I don’t know about scariest but I remember the first game I thought was actually scary was Resident Evil on the PlayStation.

Cold Fear just the noises and the screaming of zombies running at you with knifes that were infected by the exocells made me shiver.
