When I press my middle mouse button it gives the choice of programs running and that’s great if I’m on the desktop, but I’m wanting to use the middle mouse button when using a program then MAN IS IT ANNOYING!
I’ve been struggling to find out how to turn that feature off (help would be fantastic) :)

Give it up, Lusers. If people wanted Linux they’d run Linux, sheesh.

OS activism is a waste of everyones time, yours included.

And since time = money, Linux is no more free than Windows or OSX is :P

7 sounds interesting. It must be shaping up decently if the beta is in any way usable. I remember the Vista beta’s *shudder*

Yes! Finally. I love Windows 7. I’d say two of my favorite new features in W7 is the click/drag on the title bar of windows. Maximized windows will popout and you can move the window around and pop it back in as a maximized window on another screen. Drag and drop windows. Excellent.

The other new feature I really like is the application/preview/peeking on the taskbar.. no need to alt-tab thru the applications just to see one thing and then have to alt-tab back. no clicks, no alt-tabs.. just move the mouse to see. how easy is that?

Oh and the “Loudness” effects on the sound card is a cool feature. Not sure if that was included in Vista or not. With this turned on, I find I don’t have to mess with volume settings as much. Way to go Microsoft and W7 Dev team..

I’m using Linux all the way. No need for Windows at all. Any version, for that matter. Yeah, so a few programs might not work so good or at all but that’s why they have alternatives in Linux that you just have to do a bit of actual Work to discover and then set up. It’s called learning people. Well, not to be rude here but as I said, Windows no more for me, Linux all the way. Works better, faster, more secure, stable, cleaner, looks cooler, simple, small, and just plain gets the job done at the end of the day without all the commotion of this or that doesn’t work and I wonder why. I’m using Ubuntu 8.10 right now btw.

Windows 7 has a lot to give users, and I think its worthy of fully-paid upgrade, in my opinion. I’ll definitely be paying the AU$300 to get it. I’ve posted nearly four posts on Lockergnome, and my experience has only got better as I’ve used it. Thanks for the vid, Chris :)

All i can say, is that if Windows 7 is like vista, but with all the bugs worked out. its great, i think the idea of vista is great, and its got some nice features just if they would work. And bluescreens HAVE to go..
i have never bluescreened with XP

I installed Windows 7 Beta on a Gateway laptop. So far my experience hasn’t been that good. I have no sound, can’t get the WiFi adaptor to work and I have gotten the blue screen of death several times. I have installed the OS three times and it still keeps on giving me problems.

Windows 7 Beta looks cleaner and I for one enjoy the new task bar. Oh, I really enjoy the way one can resize a window quickly by moving and touching the top edge of the screen. Seems original.

I can’t wait for the final version… just like I did when Vista and previous versions of Windows came out :) Fun!

Agree with your point about Tahoma fonts. It’s one of the first few things I customize when I get a brand new install of Windows on. What font works for you on Windows?

I love it! Goodbye to Vista! I’m running it on a Dell desktop that is more than 5 years old with a P4 and 1GB of RAM. It runs smoother than my HP Desktop running a Core2 Duo and 2 GB of RAM. I can’t take Vista off the notebook just yet because it’s my primary PC.

Yea I agree with Chris the OS is way better than Vista, I’ve also had some problems with drivers. Ive tried installing newest video card drivers and for some reason it tends to hang and I get the blank screen of death :P – Also when I use the video driver Win7 gives me to install for my video card after using it for a few minutes it tends to freeze up/lock up on me – But before all that i tried it ran some benchmarks and it ran very smooth.
