What was Your First CD?

For those of us who used to own vinyl, buying our first CD was a huge deal. I’d be willing to wager that we also remember what our first CD was, and even when we bought it. The first one I ever bought was The Traveling Willburys. For Kat, it was Ride the Lightning, by Metallica. I had to ask others if they remembered what their first ever CD was.

My first CD was Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park

My first vinyl was a 45 – Twist and Shout by the Beatles
Fist vinyl album – soundtrack from West Side Story
First CD – Clannad (can’t remember which one)

Beatles: “Revolver”

First album: Black Sabbath – Black Sabbath
First 8-Track: ELP – Brain Salad Surgery
First CD: Tom Petty – Full Moon Fever
My first cassette was either Hendiix – Smash Hits or The Beatles – Let It Be.

It was Bonnie Raitt’s “Nick of Time”. I didn’t even have a player yet but knew that I would within a year after I saved up for one. So, I had my neighbor across the hall convert it to a cassette in order that I could listen to it.

dark side of the moon by pink floyd

to whoever posted Satellite by P.O.D, its a good album IMHO as well.

my first cd?, I think Bloodworld by Mortification, maybe a Petra album back in 1995

My first CD was Rush: Moving Pictures

Gee, so long ago. I think it was Mozart; he signed it for me at a concert.

First CD: Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd
First Cassette: Tea for the Tillerman, Cat Stevens
First 8-Track: Chicago Transit Authority, Chicago

First 45: Help!, The Beatles

I think the first CD I ever got was a soundtrack to the movie Tarzan. Either that or a Backstreet Boys CD [not one of my prouder moments].

All I remember was a CD for the windows 3.1. I don’t know the name of it or what it was, but I bet it had data files on it.

First Vinyl: Journey, Escape 1981
First 45: Aerosmith, Walk This Way…I was 8!
First CD: Rick Springfield, Working Class Dog. I didn’t even have a player yet, but bought it so I could tape a decent copy for the car.

I never bought 8 tracks or cassettes. I always recorded my Vinyl to tape for the car.
