All i know is this, the laptop i just bought, is a 2.2 dual core and my desktop is a 3.33 but not dual core, laptop smokes the desktop for speed, smoothness and just about any other spec i could want time and time again.... In all fairness, i did go from 512 to 4g ram as well but even so my laptop is kicking the behind of some of my family members who have same ram and higher speed without the dual core....

So, does my application program have the power to decide which processor to use for my program ??

If yes, then how should I exploit this feature (lets say, in c/c++)??

I remember being the first in my high school class to have a dual core processor. Now, everyone's got one. But I'm yet to be able afford a quad core lol.
