When I need to get something done, I usually try to cancel out every unimportant thing I can and focus on what needs to be done. A bit of coffee and a snack would help, too. But, I am not as productive when I'm sick. I am usually either sleeping, or, like you, in front of the computer monitor. Though, the only "work" on the computer I would do would be making a blog post. The rest would be looking at discussion forums and news, nothing important.

I prescribe to the age old self-tried and trueish system known as Eventualism - where I am eventually productive in my own time.

If anything, being sick allows me to revitalize my eventual efforts, which could be seen as ironic depending on how you look at it.

Oh, and get well eventually!

When I'm sick I'm usually doing one of two things - laying in bed sleeping, maybe do a little reading (if I'm feeling really crummy) or sitting behind a computer monitor (if I'm just getting over the flu).

As far as getting things done - to-do lists, prioritized with the easiest tasks first (I think your morale improves as you complete each task, therefore by completing several easier tasks first you'll feel great about taking care of the rest).
