I don’t know if this would be safe for kids?!? I saw a few green lasers that could burn right through paper on YouTube (also light cigarettes).

Hell, for $70 bucks I’ll pick one up :) I like the starts one!

Well, in the new theatrical company’s inaugural show “Peter Pan”, our director used the green lazer for Tinker Bell.

I should say, our sound tech Billy ended up doing it, just because he had a steadier hand that our director did. :)

I have one, and they are incredibly useful as star pointers when you’re outside. The beam is like a light saber, so you can point to an object in the sky and everyone can actually see where you are pointing.

However, there are claims that it can blind airplane pilots, so you have to be very careful. I have heard (unconfirmed) that green lasers are being made illegal in Australia.

I worked for a company in the past and we used solid state green lasers, they were combined with a red and blue laser to generate a single white beam which was used for scanning 3D objects in color. So there is another use :)

I got a beautiful green laser from geeks.com some time ago and it was very affordable compared to other web sites. Not sure if they’re available there anymore though. Anyway, I affixed it with electrical tape to my 10-inch Dobsonian telescope and aligned it with the eyepiece. Now, instead of looking through the small location scope, I just hit the green laser button, point the scope, and voila, I’m right in the neighborhood of where I want to observe.
