I have to say in all fairness to the RichardSolo review, I love mine. For one thing, anything attached to an iPhone is going to add bulk because the iPhone is so slim. The weak connection is there, however who plans to wander around with a battery dangling out of their iPhone anyway? Let alone swinging it around like a monkey. I simply lie mine flat on the car seat while I’m driving, etc. and within an hour I’ve recovered a good part of my charge— enough to carry me on through the evening ahead. Some things simply require a little finesse rather than all thumbs. It’s a fantastic accessory and like anything electronic, requires a bit of maturity in handling if you expect it to work properly. If you like swinging your iPhone like Tarzan… don’t buy this, or any battery. Just let the thing die off every afternoon and run to a phone booth—if you can find one!

What was the designer of that thing thinking. When i saw the phone just drop to the desk that easy I just thought Wow. How can you make something like that and not make it lock into the phone. Its like if someone put wheels on there car without bolts.
They need to fix that big time.

You best option is to wait for the Mophie Juice Pack for the iPhone 3G. Supposedly to be released late next month.

I’m sure you want something for now, but none of the other solutions I’ve seen are that good.

I just got my 3G today and yeah, I’m worried about the battery life thing – I guess I’ll leave the iTunes library off it (I’m sure playing music is a battery drain) and avoid the apps.

I know, I’m so lame. But I’m also lazy, I hate recharging batteries daily :)

Actually there are a number of options, but you have to use a USB to iPod cable rather then just being able to plug it in. I think I remember seeing at least one with an adapter, but I’ll have to search more.
