What Do Geeks Eat for Dinner on Saturday Night?
I’m having honey roasted peanuts for dinner tonight. Mind you, they’re completely nutritious! Sugar, honey, fructose, corn syrup… hey, wait a second! That’s all sugar! Since when did sugar make a good dinner? Well, I could wander downstairs and reheat some leftover pasta - but this bag was much more convenient. Thank goodness it was only a small bag, or I would have consumed twice my body weight in honey roasted peanuts. Yeah, if it’s not obvious to you yet - Ponzi’s out of town this weekend. The dogs? They’re at my feet, watching me eat dinner. Then again, can this be considered dinner if I didn’t use any flatware? It’s just me… eating my nuts… again.
I mean, leguuuuuuumes.

Had a Pizza with potatos and Gruyere cheese from the Berkeley Cheeseboard Collective (cheeseboardcollective.coop/Pizza%20Collective/PizzaPage.html). Sounds strange but was yummy, like potato gratin.

Homemade pepperoni pizza w/green olives on one of those “Boboli” crusts. Darn good - washed down with a Coke.

I went out to eat after the KC Home Show (before picking up my newly-adopted cat, that is). Had smoked chicken, coleslaw and a potato. Oh, and a martini. Of course.

I had lasagne at my daughters 16th birthday party. For dessert.. an icecream cake fight. I’m still trying to get it out of my ears. Tip: don’t put icecream on daughter’s nose. Mayham ensues.

Hungry Howie butter and cheese crust pepperoni pizza in the San Fernando valley. I had a nice side of buffalo wings, and had a nice dessert of sour patch kids. All washed down with a couple of Budweisers.

shoot, i’m not a geek.
ok, let’s just pretend i am.
unfortunately, it wasn’t one of my braggable-about-dinners. after coming home from the kind acts event, i just threw together some cucumber salad, spaghettini and meat’n'tomato sauce. used ground pork for the meat, though. that was pretty yummy.

Sorry, but I had real dinner. BBQ’d 30 pounds of ribs, cooked too many ears of corn, potato salad, macaroni salad. Overate, but satisfying in a way that can only be felt, not put in words.

I made Thai Drunken Noodles (Noodles Kee Mau) which has been my favorite Thai dish for years but something I had never gotten up the courage to actually make myself
And, with a slight exception here or there, it actually came out really good. Maybe I should post the recipe.

Sorry that should have read,
“Peanuts aren’t nuts they are legumes!”
… but it still doesn’t change the argument about putting out incorrect info :-D.
