A touch of sugar will absorb the acid that is inherent in tomato paste/sauce and will make your suace taste bitter. Now then the hoagie buns I use I get from the local bakery and are made of whole grain wheat and then dusted lightly with pepper. I then take cheddar cheese, and lay this on each bun and toast it in a toaster oven so the cheddar melts enough to grab onto the buns. This keeps the sauce from soaking in and making the buns soggy.

I thought I would leave a comment with my recipe for the hoagie sandwich..

First of all the only advice I have for spaghetti is SUGAR! They are perfect for the person who has no time or is just lazy. They last long and can be eaten cold or hot.

Actually cooking and preparing vegetables is very tedious I think, especially for one person, but since it is good to eat veggies I recommend also getting those canned vegetables. That way when you get ready to go to work, you can put it in the fridge to thaw all day and it's ready for the oven by time you are home.

A suggestion as a bachelorette is when you buy meat from the supermarket, but it in plastic bags with marinade in the freezer. A lot. Every other day I would eat out dinner with a friend, usually at a moderate restaurant (Out Back when they were good, Max & Erma's, Don Pablo's, Olive Garden, the occasional Red Lobster) and then eat something more fast foodish, although I'd try to keep it on the healthier side.Yes, about once a month I'd cook something because I felt like it, and I cooked too much because there aren't really any good recipes for just one person, and eating leftovers... by the time I felt like eating them, they were long gone. Considering I hat cleaning around the house (still do), and the fact that it would usually mean cleaning at least two pots and then the dishes... I devoted my money and time elsewhere. Cooking for three or more seems to be much more worth it. Two is OK, but the more the nerrier. So be.. well paid (not rich per se) and eat out. No dishes, no pots and pans. NO FUNKY SMELLS LEFT OVER FROM WHAT YOU COOKED OR WHAT YOU FORGOT TO THROW AWAY! :)

Well, since I was making the money when I was a bachelor (compared to my income of $0 as a house dad), I ate out. Keep them in the freezer and they last for weeks. Just use the "low" setting on the microwave to thaw one out when you want.

Go to a place that sells bagels and buy a bag of day old bagels ($3 a dozen). The other night I made Ribeye steak, baked potato, peas, corn, and bread n butter. And I had plenty for leftovers. That's not a "typical" supper for me though. Usually I'm eating store bought fried chicken or pizza. Or I'll go out to eat. Don't know what I'm going to do today because the leftovers are gone and I don't want to get up and go anywhere. Well there's always hamburger in the freezer :)

What do bachelors eat?
