		<description>Nice clip Chris, but how could you not mention DesktopX? It pre-dated Konfabulator by about 2 years (1.0 released in 2001), and from version 2 allowed the creation of stand-alone &quot;gadgets&quot;, which don&#039;t need a runtime to work.

I agree though that widget/gadget design on anything other than Dashboard sucks, I guess designers aren&#039;t keen to venture into the Windows-based widget platforms... it&#039;s a shame, really</description>
