Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed

Did you know there’s someone from our live community who hates pizza?! That’s just insane!! Ponzi, Kat and I got to talking about foods that we can’t stand, and make us just want to hurl. What foods do that to you? Make sure to write our your list of five, and leave them as a follow-up to this video!

My List of Hated Foods

  • Chitlins - Yes, I tried them once.
  • Brussels’ Sprouts - I’ve tried ‘em in everything, and still don’t like ‘em.
  • Beets - Not even shaved thin.
  • Peas - Unless their dried, “wasabi” peas.
  • Corn - Ick, no. But I do like popcorn and Corn Nuts (different flavor and texture!)

So, what’s your list?

1. escargot
2. Mushroom
3. Brussel Sprouts
4. Sauerkraut
5. Olives

pizza is the foshizzle XD

. prune juice
. raw fish
. hot dogs
. crawfish
. veg all

Any type of “Sauce” that is added. (unless you count chocolate syrup)
any type of sea food
Milk by itself
Water (makes me sick unless fully boiled, so it’s okay in soups and such.)
anything “hot” spicy

If all those don’t count and it has to be one thing…
Onions
meat loaf
ketchup
Coconut

(I have a heighten sense of taste and smell, so I can normally tell what every ingredient is used in soups and such on the spot, or within the first taste.)
I think that covered everything.

My top 5:

1. Vinegar
2. Mayonnaise
3. Pickled Vegetables
4. Durian [Jack Fruit]
5. Ampalaya [Bitter Gourd]

Top 5 foods I cannot stand:

1. Coconut - The taste of it makes me want to lose everything else
2. Lettuce - This also includes Brussels sprouts and cabbage
3. Most seafood – No idea why.
4. Raw onions - Love them cooked though
5. Beats – Yuck!

There are other foods I dislike as well. This is just the top 5 of the things I have actually tried. There is a lot out there I refuse to even try because it is so nasty, pigs feet and octopus for example.

As for Drinks:
1. Coffee – Don’t kill me Chris!
2. Any other milk besides whole milk (with the exception of Chocolate Milk)
3. Energy Drinks – I have yet to find one I can drink
4. Beer – I do like other liquor though.

Meat (any kind)
Gumbo
Peas
Sauerkraut
Zuchini

(I knew that about milk. I know a lot of Vegans)

Man. Hehehehe. The community is never gonna treat me the same again after this video.

Oh well, still glad I’ve never had to eat beets. (Don’t particularly want to after seeing this.)

Brussels’ Sprouts is my *favorite food*. You just need to learn to appreciate it, ’s all ;-).

Personally,

I am not crazy about Pizza. The only Veggys i like are corn and peas, and the only seafood I like is Fish’n Chips.

My List of Foods:

1. Chiterlings
2. Squash
3. Rudabegas
4. Turnips
5. Pickled Pig Feet

I was born and raised in Southwest Alabama. All 5 of these foods are foods that many southerners fancy, but I have never had a taste for any of them. Most of my family members love them, but the thought of them makes me sick to my stomach.

I notice all three of you have beets on your list. I grew up thinking I hated beets, because all I ever had was “harvard beets” at the school cafeteria. When I married, my wife insisted on raising beets. She pulled them when they were about the size of ping-pong balls, and served them buttered.

My 2-year-old scarfed them down, which really surprised me, because he was more selective about foods than I was, so I tried them. They were delicious. I suspect if you ever eat young buttered beets, you’ll change your mind.

Most places that serve chitlins are soul food restaurants, and they serve ‘em *boiled* for some strange reason. When I was growing up on the farm, mom *fried* chitlins, and they were good that way.

And I can’t imagine someone not loving fresh sweet corn.

You might want to check out Tom Parker-Bowles’ “Year of Eating Dangerously”. Tom is Camilla’s son, and a food writer. It’s a really interesting book - especially the chapters on eating blowfish in Japan, eating with the mob in Sicily, and a pink shellfish found off the shores of Celtic Spain.

My list:
1. Tofu
2. Hot chilis
3. Wilted salad
4. Turnips
5. Okra

I love eating octopus.

We’re the only species that drinks another species milk! People don’t think twice, because they don’t think past the mental conditioning from childhood and the media, rather than understanding exactly what they do.

Imagine yourself living off the land in the past, with no houses and shopping malls or 9-5 jobs or schools. As part of your daily routine, you milk an wild animal and drink it.

If it came from a different animal, would it matter to you, why?

I like cheese and ice cream (also all vegetable milks I have tried), I was just trying to help explain why i agree with Chris saying that it seems weird to drink animal milk, at least weird in a non-emergency daily basis. There are many things (not saying dairy is one) that are bad for you, but they sell them any way and tell you to just consume in moderation.

i absolutely despise raw tomatoes. But i love them cooked!

I can only really drink skim milk on a regular basis.-

i wonder if panzi and chris have ***?…….

Chris! How can you not like corn? You’re from Iowa!!!

Also, Peas are probably the least offensive food ever.

Beats and Brussel Sprouts, can be offensive, and are most of the time cooked improperly to the point where you do not want to ever touch them again.

Chitlins, Sauerkraut, Pickled Egg, and Sea Urchin are acquired tastes, some people like it some people don’t. And some of that has to do with where you were raised.

My 5:
Raw Green Pepper
Cooked Carrots
Spam / Low Quality Mass Production Hotdogs / Bologna
Raw Oysters
Liver

1) 1000 year old eggs - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Century_egg
2) Sea Urchin
3) Balut - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balut
4) Salt cured, whole anchovies
5) Beets

lmao

“unless you die trying it!”

TeddGCM’s List

1. Unprocessed Fish (Fish sticks are ok, but I can’t stand my food looking at me)

2. Crab or other crustacions

3. Boiled Ocra

4. Pickled pigs’ feet

5. Raw oysters / clams

Wow, you Gnomes hate some good stuff.

I cannot abide arugula or spelt. Cooked celery is also nasty.

I love the hard to find southern treat boiled peanuts that many can’t stand.

My list of foods I don’t want to eat:

1. Puppy stew, scorpion on a stick (China)
2. Guinea pig on a stick (Peru)
3. Monkey brains, while the monkey is still alive and strapped down (Africa)
4. Sheep eyes and the rest of the sheep (Morocco)
5. Almost anything from Indonesia

1. Beets
2. Eggs in beet juice
3. Something that came with my Japanese lunch one time. Small bite. Brown. And it tasted just like it looked.
4. Brussel sprouts and water chestnuts together. I got violently ill with a virus after eating them with dinner 30 years ago.
5. Cooked spinach that my mother used to cook. Fresh spinach is great, and so is the spinach in Indian restaurants. My moms? NO WAY!

My mom was a great cook, but give her some ingredients that she hadn’t cooked with before (or in combination) and watch out.

Well, these make me gag:
Peas
Brussels Sprouts
Pulled Pork
String Cheese
Corn Beef

Frank’s List of Hated Foods:
Coconut
Arugula (found out recently)
Bell Peppers
Squid
Pizza from Costco

brains
asparagus
tripe
bell peppers
haggis

When I was a kid I hated Brussel sprouts so much that I would do anything not to eat them. One night, I figured the best way to not eat one would be to just swallow it without chewing it. So I swallowed one and it got stuck. I could not breathe and I look at my father and mouthed the words that I could not breathe. He jumped out of his chair grabbed and turned me upside down and proceeded to pound on my back. The offending brusssel popped out and I never had to eat one again. To this day, the sight, the sound, the smell, and anything remotely close to them repulses me.

bell peppers
eggplant
creamed corn
sea urchin
most pork products

1. Liver
2. Avocadoes (YUCK)
3. anything fishy smelling….UGH!
4. SUSHI
5. Pickled Pigs Feet…they SUCK!

milk, milk, milk, milk, milk
pickled pigs feet
yogurt
frozen yogurt
curds and whey
kvass

I can’t stand
1.Tuna
2.Eggs
3.Cottage Cheese
4.Any Fish
5.Baked Beans

1. Salmon
2. Mayonnaise (I like Miracle Whip though)
3. Dr. Pepper
4. Potato Chips
5. Strawberry Milk

As for the dude who doesn’t like Pizza because he’s only had CiCi’s, I can vouch for the fact that at least in the part of southern U.S. that I live in, there are three and only three options for pizza, CiCi’s (which is truly awful), Papa Johns, and Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut is the best of the bunch, which isn’t saying much since it’s all crappy chain pizza. I grew up in New York state where even the smallest towns have at least one (and often more) locally owned pizza shop. I miss that.

Mine are:
1.) Pizza (Some is okay, however)
2.) Lasagna
3.) Milk (it’s ok in cereal or with baked goods)
4.) Cake
5.) Baked Potatoes (only baked)
6.) Most cooked fish (will eat Raw sushi however, which is my favorite food)

I will eat all of the above, but don’t like to.

and some people are rasist

If you are Indian, then you will know what I am talking about:
1. Jalabi
2. radishes
3. beets
4. sweet ghee
5. soy cheese
kp

Lima beans
Peas
Sea Urchin
Scallops
Marmite an Vegemite
Boiled Okra

Comment To Marc Meyer:

So quite literally, Brussels Sprouts made you “Gag”.

Beets (common theme!)
Red Beans (the sweet kind in Asian desserts)
Yams (in most circumstances; also yuck to yam-like pumpkins and squashes)
Coconut (only occasionally)
Monkey Brain (credit for this one goes to my Mom, who put this at the top of her list. But really, Monkey Brain should really be a given.*)

*Monkey Brain is a delicacy in some places. It’s quite disgusting how they serve it, too.

I don’t like anything! Seriously, I am a picky eater! Most of the things I don’t like to eat people look at me and go, “Are you serious?”

Top five would have to be:
Rice.
Peanuts. (Actually, all nuts)
Milk.
Popcorn.
Bananas.

I’m surprised there’s not more mushrooms listed. But weirdly enough, I looooove mushrooms.

My top 5:

Beets
Green Beans
Oranges
Mushrooms

There you are.

Well Chris. It’s interesting to hear that someone doesn’t like pizza but don’t get over exaggerated about it. I mean some people just don’t like other foods as some people do.
As for my top five worst foods or hated food there are as follows

5. Grits – I just can’t stand this breakfast item, I don’t know why but I can’t. Once was enough for me.

4. Enchiladas – I know I am Mexican…and almost every Mexican likes this food, but I don’t. It because the spices they use on the food tastes to sour for me and I despise all the cheese they put on it….because I don’t have a knack for cheese.

3. Olives – I have never have like them since the time I ate them for the first time.

2. Mushrooms – Not for me…and definitely not on pizzas.

1. Mole – It’s pronounced “Mo-le” and it is my worst food because there’s nothing you can make me do to eat this. Basically it’s Meat that is cooked in sauce that’s soured with lemon, spices, gravy, tomato paste and other stuff that I won’t mention. Yuck! (x_x)

As for my worst favorite drinks: they are as followed

5. Gatorade – Yes I hate to admit it but I used to like this drink until I found out that it was making me gain weight. Even though its good for workouts, its not good all the time.

4. Tea – Yup I don’t like tea, unless its Brisk or Nestea lemon flavored

3. Soda – don’t even get me started on this. I gave Chris my top five list on water pwns this drink.

2. Coffee – No! I will never drink this…it tastes nasty and its only good for waking you up…which is something I don’t need help for.

1. Beer/Alcohol beverages – I have NEVER liked beer ever since I was a kid. I will refuse to drink it no matter what the situation and I decide to be alcohol free for the rest of my life.

Top 5 foods I cannot stand:

1. Cheese(Melted) - The taste of it makes me want to lose everything else

1. Broccoli
2. Cauliflower
3. Green Beans
4. Spinach
5. Squid

Ew.

1) Tofu
2) Prawns
3) Porridge
4) Egg McMuffin
5) Any bland food.

I know this will really sound odd. But I am not a pickie eater at all. I will try anything at least once. I love any kind of food. I haven’t found anything I wont yet at least once. Food is something I really enjoy.

Spinach-almost every vegetable peas, grean beans
Salad
Chinese Food
Sour Cream
Tuna Fish

this is my top five hated foods….
grapes
kiwi
beets
mushrooms
stew

Pizza is so american. If you live in america and don’t like pizza then wow!

Chris,

I started laughing when Ponzi mentioned Balut……..I will never eat a balut in my life, I promise you. I live in Philippines and Im married to a Filipina, but Id rather offend someones cultural sensibilities than scarf down a balut. The other things I couldnt stomach would be bagoong (fermented fish or shrimp paste) and Patis (fish sauce). The only thing fish sauce is good for is for clearing your nasal passages.

What I really like is fried “Pusit”(squid) and also grilled isnt bad either. I have eaten and enjoyed BBQ’ed pork intestines. I dont like the hot and spicy asian foods so the fact that there are many sweet or sour dishes in Filipino cooking suit me fine. And being a guy raised in South Carolina I have a deeply love for Southern food although I have yet to have chitlin’s.

My Top 5 would be:

1. Goats milk (I had it as a child and secretly spiked it with sugar when my dad wasnt looking.)

2. Rutabaga’s

3. Balut

4. Pickled Pigs feet (I know I am from the South, but I dont like it.)

5. Most spicy foods

Someone mentioned durian. I bought a durian once and managed to make it through 2 bites before the smell overrode my enjoyment. To me,uncut, a durian smells like a super-ripe fruit.

JDB

I love milk so much. I drink a whole bag in a meal.

Here’s my top 5 list of foods that make me gag.

1. Brussels’ Sprouts
2. Liver
3. Beef Tongue
4. Creamed Spinach
5. Lobster

1 Chicken
2 Beef Stroganoff
3 Pringles Pizza chips
4 Goldfish (my dad cooked up my dead pet and served it to me :P
5 Cow Testes. Don’t ask

im not indian, but jalabi is good!

okay im going foor,
1. liver
2. live octopus
3. (not food) paridise bay cocunt.
blegh.

My 5 hated foods.
1. Boiled spinach (was made to eat it as a child) I like fresh or sautéed.
2. Balut. A Korean friend of mine let me try it since I love sushi. Never again.
3. Picked Eggs. Combination of taste and texture there.
4. Sea Urchin. I think it is the ONLY sushi I will not eat.
5. Haggis. I eat menudo and sweetbreads (not the pastries, the organs) but Haggis just didn’t do it for me. I am from South Texas.

1) oysters.
2) lentils
3) tofu
4) kebab
5) coka cola

You dont like Smoked Gouda (Goat cheese) its great. my favorite smoked cheese.

The foods that absolutely make me sick!

1. Beets
2. Onions
3. Squash
4. Pigs Feet
5. Anchovies

lmfao i eat anything really so :D

Egg
babybel
Muscles
and that all i can remember

I used to love mushrooms, now they make me gag thanks to the Eat to Live Plan. I used to love a lot of vegetables and now they all make my stomach turn. Brussel Sprouts are the worst, I litterally threw up the other day when I put on in my mouth.

What Do You Think?
