Protect and clean your PC.
When searching for an antispyware scanner that will protect and clean your PC it can get a little confusing. There are so many available it’s hard to know which one will work the best. If you’re like me, you’ve probably tried a variety of them all and found they basically all find the same types of bugs. Through my experimenting I’ve found that the antispyware solution from Search-and-destroy at (Search-and-destroy) works the best. Search-and-destroy Antispyware cleans and protects my computer just as good as any scanner, it gets rid of those nasty bugs and it does it all for less than many of the others available.

I use Avast Antivirus, the free version. It’s worked just fine for me and hasn’t let anything through yet! I love it and recommend it to anyone who can’t decide which one to use!

I use to have antivirus, but I don’t install anti-virus anymore.
I know what I download and where it comes from. I don’t do keygen/warez/torrents and only have a small number of apps on my machine.
I do however run a virus scan from a ‘rescue cd’ every couple of weeks – just for piece of mind.
But in over 10 years (mostly with AV) I’ve never been infected.
In fact the only viruses (or should that be virii?) that have been on my PC have been sent as email attachments – and it was pretty obvious to me that they were suspicious files.

AVG all the way. I don’t have the time nor knowledge to mess with those details. Have been with them for 3+ years. They update me daily without a hitch.

It works great, updates automatically, cleaned up all the problems I had and was recommended by that Tech Guy formally of TechTV.

I think the best anti-virus is my “brain”.. yea thats right… manual removal of all virus’. on and Mac OS X? come on now don’t make us laugh.

What antivirus do i use? Well, the only one i can think of that’s even worth installing on your computer is “Avast!” antivirus. There are three reasons why i have this installed.

1. This antivirus is free which saves you money and time, and trust me the free version of this software is just as good as the pro version…so i wouldn’t get it.
2. The antivirus program does not take much CPU use room your computer and it is always running in the background without taking your CPU usages away from you, which is good for any PC to have
3. The program scans very efficiently and very thoroughly, meaning that hardly any viruses get in and penetrate your computer, which is always a plus. It also automatically updates your computer everyday that way you have the latest virus definitions everyday.

So as you can see, i like avast for there excellent service and simplicity to antivirus software becuase it gets the job done and works the best for me.

So have you any of you out on the Pirillo community have any thoughts on avast as well? if so, let me know :)

On my pc i use Norton Antivirus and for backup i use AVG free. So no viruses =]

I was originally using AVG Free 8.0. Recently, I realized that I didn’t really need the anti-spyware portion of the program since I have two other anti-spyware tools that do the job nicely. So I switched over to Avast to protect my Windows machines. Works well, plus I know when the database is updated.

I gave up on using Anti-virus software… I just use common sense these days. No email attachments, no scripts, no browsing “questionable” websites… I think that common sense can save you a lot of trouble in the long run, and can save you a few extra bucks with not having to worry about keeping subscriptions up.

OS factors in a lot also. ;p
