IF Obama were President because he was the best person to defend our country, its people AND ALL OF OUR FREEDOMS, then I would be DAMN PROUD, too. HOWEVER, he was elected ONLY BECAUSE OF THE COLOR OF HIS SKIN.
How can I be DAMN PROUD OF THAT??? What if I voted only on color???? I would be labeled a RACIST.
Those that voted Obama for color are not!
UNTIL EVERYONE IS EQUAL, RACE PROBLEMS WILL NOT CEASE. They want preferential treatment. Never, ever, will that lead to good relations.
ANYONE that votes for less than FULL FREEDOM for EVERYONE, of every color in this country, then THEY ARE AN IDIOT!!!
Give up any, ANY freedom….you’re an idiot.
I PRAY THAT THE LORD CHANGES OBAMA SO THAT HE WILL WANT TO BE THE BEST PRESIDENT, ONE THAT KEPT OUR FREEDOMS. IF Obama were not a marxist, then I might feel easier about this.
I pray that he does not do to our country what I am afraid he will do.
Just because you do not believe like I do, doesn’t mean that MY RIGHTS should be taken away. God gives us free will. NO MAN should do less.
GET IT????
I pray, and I pray hard that our country continues to be the beacon of FREEDOM that so many have risked their very lives to reach.
ME…
free for now. How long have you allowed it by your vote? (no, we didn’t have a choice between the two. The very wealthy are running this show now. How many of you think they are doing it for YOUR interest???? whosoever does, then you are an idiot, too)

Chris,
I am damn proud to be an American, too. I have to ask, were you proud to be an American last year? Or two years ago? Or ten years ago?
You see, I have always been proud to be an American. I am proud no matter who is president or what is going on in the country. Yes, there are individual Americans of whom I am not proud, but that doesn’t take away from the pride I have in my country.
Contrary to what some people are saying these days, America didn’t become a great nation when Barack Obama was elected. America has always been a great nation. No other country has done has much good for the rest of the world. No other country has freed so many people. No other country gives the way American does, especially the private citizens.
Are we perfect? Certainly not; but we are closer to perfection than any other country in the history of this world. I am proud that even though we are not perfect, we still strive to do what’s right, even when we fail.
Yes, I am proud to be an American today for it is an historic occasion. We have done something I honestly didn’t think would happen in my lifetime. I understand the significance of the occasion and I am glad to be alive to see it.
I am proud to be an American; an American who still has trouble singing ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ or watch a bald eagle fly or see the flag unfurled in the breeze without choking up a bit. I am proud of the fact that every four or eight years, we peacefully transfer the power of the president, the leader of the most powerful nation in the history of the world. It is an astonishing thing to witness.
I am proud to be an American not just today and not just because we have elected a black man to the highest office in the land. I am proud because we are, as Lincoln said, “the last best hope of earth”. We are, as Reagan said, that “shining city on a hill”.
We are the United States of America. Period. Be proud of that, always.

I’m happy that I voted and had a voice. However, this is not the way I wanted things to turn out. Still, Obama is the guy that won, and he is going to OUR president for the next few years. No matter who you voted for, the president is the president of the United States of America. We should all pray for and try to work with him. I just do not look forward to the higher taxes and lower wages that are coming.

“You are happy to have made it happen”? I bet you don’t say that when gas goes back to $4 and $5 a gallon. I bet you don’t say that when you have to pay a “spread the wealth tax” for my car and my house. You are such a lemming. Goodbye Mr. Lockergnome.

I’m proud to have voted for Obama. After 8 years of the Bush criminal family, we have a man who is President of all of us, not just the rich and well-connected. (Or at least he appears to be while Bush made no secret about being the ally of the “have-mores”.) As for the poster who speaks about Obama being a Marxist, he should really read some Marx before going there. Actually, Obama is a centrist who is only a “liberal” when compared to Bush. And the so-called “extreme” left will no doubt be disappointed in Obama precisely for that reason.

I voted for Obama because he was the best candidate! Period. The fact that he is black (and of mixed heritage) is a stupid argument. If jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton got elected I would consider your point. Every morning when you get up (for the next 4 years at least) – tell yourself “best candidate” three times before you start your day and maybe you won’t be sooo disappointed. That message goes out to: Geeky Sweet .
Quit believing some of the stuff your hear on cable news! They do it for money, Entertainment, and ego! Ron – I will feel the same way I did about the $4.00 gas the last time it happen under Obama’s predecessor. If it happens…….It certainly won’t be something new!
Oh yeah! I’m proud to be an american too – served my country for 24 years – travelled to different parts of the world with the 7th Fleet — I remember seeing some of the proverty and hopelessness in other countries, and the phobias and other crap, Darn Proud to be an American, proud of my country, and hopefully I can be proud of my President and Commander-In-Chief. He already appears to be much better than the one that just left.
Peace!

I know my comment may not be as long as everyone elses, but Barack Hussein Obama Supports abortion and Euthenasia. If he allows this to happen, he will wipe out your beautiful country, every last human being, and the rest of the world will follow.
God guide President Barack Obama to change his mind so that he may not allow such evils including gay marriage.
I guess that is all i have to say.

The absurdity of it all is fourfold.
1- Obama was elected by something like 97% of blacks. That , my pinhead friends, is racist.
2- Obama was elected by more than 50% of white females. That is black obsession by most white females. This has been fostered by Hollywood and TV which for years has portrayed whites as morons and blacks as rocket scientists and sexy.
3- Obama is called the first black president. It is pathetic that someone who is 1/2 white is considered black. He is not the first black president. He is the first bi-racial president. Note: My marriage is bi-racial.
4- Blacks would have voted him in by 97% even if he were a convicted child molester with a 4th grade education. In a word, black racism.
GET IT? I doubt it.

when small business is a thing of the past
when we’re in an international crisis
WHEN OUR WEALTH IS SPREAD AROUND!
And besides: he isn’t the first African-American president. Why? BECAUSE HE ISN’T BLACK!

Obama was the best candidate, no doubt about it. I don’t get how people could still vote for McCain.
However, people who say Obama got elected because of color are just too stupid LOL.

Well, the title of the post is “Welcome President Obama”.
“Obama was the best candidate, no doubt about it. I don’t get how people could still vote for McCain.

There is doubt about it. While I don’t think McCain was the best candidate the Republicans could have had, I still agreed with him on policies. That’s what I look for in a president.
I don’t think Obama was elected solely because of color, but that was a part of the equation. I have heard comments from people personally and through the media saying as much.

You ignorant fool chris. How on earth could you of all peaople have bought into his bull shit? You have lost a viewer. It is no ones business who you voted for. This post was completely not needed. You should be ashamed of yourself. You and all the other news media that supported him and gave unfair coverage to the republicans. Poor Sarah Palin never caught a break.

Just curious if you are regretting your support for Obama now that he as has added so much to the national debt, running a gigantic budget deficit, and attempting to socialize medicine.

Go easy on Chris…for he knows not what he has done.
This is the problem with youth, so full of great feelings and wonderful, warm fuzzy, ideology, and yet, so little experience to temper it with.
This is, also, the problem with hate, it distorts our reasoning abilities. Now, we hate each other, and we’ll continue to see, what we think are, reasons for that hatred…until we’ve had enough, until we’re given a new purpose, until we wake up.
I was young, too, I know how that feels.
