You're crazy, Pirillio. Thunderstorms frickin rule. I miss them (bout the only thing I miss about the midwest). This SF area weather is so damn boring I could scream.

I love watching thunderstorms/lightning from a healthy distance. I once saw a perfect anvil shaped thundercloud. It was awesome to see. Somehow, watching tornadoes hop and skip across my backyard doesn't excite me the right way.
Agreed, a UPS is required equipment. I'm sure it has saved my system on many occasions. It's still wise to shut down and unplug when the lightning outshines the indoor lighting, however.

I like thunderstorms in the summer. Breaks up the monotany of the 95+ degree afternoon heat. Just a 10 degree cooldown from an afternoon thunderstorm actually makes it feel cold.
Just get a good UPS so you don't interrupt your work.

Here in Central Florida we have at least one bad storm a day this time of year. The lightning is a beautiful thing to watch from the inside.

Toronto gets the odd tstorm in the summer. Last summer was pretty special though as I recall we had about 7 nights of them in a row. Lots of fireworks. I have a clear view of the CN Tower where I live and it was quite the lightning rod.

we had a crazy lightning/thunderstorm here in JB, Johor, Malaysia. A lightning strike almost every minute.
