Weather on the Wii
Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed
You know, the Wii is addicting… even without loading up a single game. I have discovered all kinds of cool things you can do. Did you know you can get the local weather… right on the Wii?
The music on the Weather part of the Wii literally makes me want to sleep. It is quite soothing, yes. However… *yawn*. However, if you’re a Weather freak… you’d want to buy a Wii just to have this feature alone. I truly enjoy all Weather things. The Wii Weather is very very cool. It has an excellent interactive capability. I can easily check the UV Index, the current forecast, forecasts from other countries… etc. It’s easy to check weather from other areas. I use the WiiMote to literally “grab” the screen (much like with Google Maps), and drag the map around.
This channel allows you to access local weather forecasts after turning on the Wii console. When connected to the Internet, the Wii automatically updates weather information from your local area and around the world. Use the Wii Remote to spin the globe and view weather reports from across town or across the planet!

Because it’s a new innovative way to interact while getting the weather. It’s not “stupid” or “useless” at all.

hey Chris. this is jmontan1 and i saw your video about the how the Wii has the weather forecasts and all other info for you daily commuting weather which to me is very interesting.
Currently i am a Meteorology major at ASU and i have loved the weather ever since i was a litlle kid and weather maps and severe weather. As I Watched your video you seemed so excited about the weather and stated that you wish you were a meteorology person…well thats what i want to become too.
by watching your video, it has changed my thoughts about the Wii entirely and i hope to get one in the future.
if you would like to know anything about weather terminology or just fun facts chris…just ask me and ill answer.
thanks chris for the video and sharing my thoughts about Wii Weather

This is one of the many great reasons I got a Wii. Especially with all of the new channels coming out for it, the Wii will soon be at the center of many peoples homes. It’s just so cool that all of this stuff can be in one extremely small box.

HI I am the Kamp3r,
I am also a father of 4 little Kamp3r’s, I recently Puchased a nintendo wii and love it. I love its many features such as ESRB monitoring, So I can lock my kids outa inapropriate games. as well as see how long they have played, ect the ability to check the weather, and news on the fly is wonderful. as well the controllers are wireless and the kids have to get up and off the couch in order to play.

I jsut foudn the “check mii out” channel. Chris, you may want to look into this. You can check out created mii’s from others, and if you like it, you can DL it.
If you want it’s go to store channel, and then Wii Ware and then download it, 0 points.

I just recently helped my friend setup her router and then connect her Wii up to it. I found addicting things like that. Except I was disappointed. When I first opened up the News portion of the Wii, the first thing I saw was. “person killed” That’s exactly what I wanted to see before I play a game.

Wow…..instead of playing the few good games the wii has (SMG, SSBB, NMH, zelda, metroid, RE4, zak and wiki, GH3, super paper mario), users would rather look at the weather (which I believe now costs $5?) when they could look in the newspaper for free.

It’s free and it says the weather on the menu so you could just glance at it when you turn the system on.
