We Be Jammin'

Well, I had to scrap my original blog redesign. It was fun (and somewhat different), but cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility were in the toilet. Some of you managed to catch the 'mock desktop' layout before I had to kill it. My current code is growing on me… although I'm left wondering where I can stick the blogroll? Yeah, I know – bend over and you'll show me. Ha ha. Seriously, does anybody know how to embed TrueType fonts? The Microsoft tool is impossible for a human to use. I'd like to embed my handwriting font for the world to see without first having to download and install it (via that dinky red delta down below, sitting next to the pi). I believe that's the next level for blogging – reading someone's thoughts through his or her scrip. Provided it's legible. I've gotta do Meryl's and Mike's ASAP.

It's weird how I can control part of the content of this site and when it gets updated (the GnomeTIPS) :-D

I saw the desktop layout earlier today.. had Google as the background image.. was cool! :) I like this one too! And I love the font! Having Chris Pirillo in my computer.. the font I mean.. I can fully appreciate this. :) Looks great! What a great idea! I dont have a font of my own writing but maybe I can use yours on my journal. :) At least until I get my own created.. which might be awhile.

It's all much different than yesterday. I like it. I loved the Win 95 look you had earlier.

can you maybe put the blogroll to the right of the actual blog? There's a space there for it.. maybe?

There isn't space for 8×6 people to put the blogroll there…not saying im one of those unfortunate few…but I checked.

I have no idea how to embed TrueType fonts, I've been wondering that myself. If anyone finds out, tell Chris and then me. You could always be like the wonderfully lame Blizzard.com, Chris. They wanted a Diablo-ish page, so they created the ENTIRE page as an image..just so it could have Exocet font. Geez..

Like the PI symbol. Reminds me of the movie “The Net”. Mozart's Ghost!

Jeff Bridges forgot to mention that the reason why he was able to add his personal font onto his site is because they're all images as well. Oh well, try again.

Gawd Chris, this design scares the crap out of me. No offence meant, but pu-leese – maybe bring back the old (pre desktop look) version?

I love this skin, I think it's awesome. Brings back so many memories. As many designs as you go through, maybe you should try skins so people can stick with one they like (even though I like this one).

You probably already saw this, but here's a how-to link for embedding fonts in web pages.
http://members.tripod.com/~bhaavana/embedded/faq.html#12
It mentions using the MS tool, though…
