For the better part i agree with Chris in that HD has the advantage because of the Porn industry. However, I also have to ask when was the last time you saw a porn movie being sold in the HD format? Unless the porn industry fully embraces HD and really starts to pump the HD movies out it wont mater, and blue ray will win.

They’re right too.

I don’t like to argue with people but I relly hope Blu-Ray wins this war, simply because I have yet to find a HD-DVD in any shop. Blu-Ray does seem to be the better technology, but I can see the manufacturers argument that HD-DVD is easier to produce. It uses the same technology as DVD production but if they want to advance to the future they’ll need to update now.

BTW, I don’t like the Idea of online marketplaces…. I’m rocking 1mbps baby – no thanks

I heard someone tell me the other day that HD-DVD can’t play movies in 1080p and only Blue-Ray can do that…..is that true?

I have a good HD-DVD player and I will not buy a blue ray. I got stuck once with beta, it wont happen again.

I’m very disappointed to see that HD is more than likely gonna lose the format war now. I purchased an HD-A2 on ebay which came with 12 movies. I’m very pleased with it although there are more movies on BD that I like. I was backing HD more so since the prices for players were great and they seem to be much more organized in terms of movie features and have less hardware related issues than BD. In the end I guess I’ll be in the market for a BD player sometime soon, I wont be buying a PS3 as I’m not really a big Sony fan and I’m a PC gamer. Unless HD can pull a rabbit out of their hat they are definitely finished.

Ah good to see more movie studios moving to Blu-Ray I was rooting for Blu-Ray since the beginning, hopefully HD-DVD will fade away soon(no offebse to you HD-DVD fans)

I hope this war doesnt continue on so much longer since it would be good to only have one HD format in the future.
