Is this different from Microsoft Virtual PC?

Because I saw that you you want to install an OS on your already installed OS, without screwing with that. Maybe I'm reading something different, I should google it.

I don't know if this will work for your solution but i have two computers networked together, my main one I use for most things that has my mouse, keyboard and monitor plugged into it. then I have a computer I mostly use to store files, all it has plugged into it is power and ethernet no monitor or input devices. I use remote desktop connect when I want to connect to it.

Albert said: "This is because I have a program that won’t let me run two instances of it at once." So, what I want to know is: What is this application that won't let you run more than one instance at once? Name names!

I'm interested... how did VMware save your bacon with Vista? I purchased my laptop just weeks before Vista was released, and even though I have the upgrade disk, I have not done the Vista thing... keep hearing not-good things about it.
