I think the easiest way to boil it does is to ask this question: Do you want more windows open or bigger windows open?Two 23s let you have more windows open because there's overall more space for them to occupy, but the single larger monitor allows for each individual window to be larger.For me, I like to focus on one task at a time, and want as much room as possible to do it in. If I'm writing I want to be able to see the entire length of the page on screen. If I'm drawing a comic, I want to have that single comic in front of me while zoomed in. So for me, I'm going to go with a single larger monitor than multiple monitors.Also, if you're going to just stick widgets and other guys on the 2nd monitor why not just get a cheapo 17''?
