For those who missed the fun. UPDATE: I hope to also get my celebrity interviews digitized. It'll be a lot less painful than an on-air enema.

OH SHOOT! How did I miss the breaking of the Phonograph? I'm crying cause I'm laughing so hard. Poor guy. At least he “kinda” sensored himself.

Yeah, the guy with the phonograph canister was one of the funniest moments of the whole show. Either that or when Chris started laughing because of the nuts. :) Great job.

After I went to the States to go to Gnomedex 2, I got to see TechTV (and especially Call for Help) for the first time. Over here we don't get the channel unfortunately, so it was just great when I read your wife's blog that mentioned the Help-a-Thon. I even joined TechTV to be able to listen to the audio stream and watched the Jigcam to “see” the show. And I must say that the clips are even funnier when seen than when heard (if that made any sense).
Rest well, Chris. You certainly earned it.

Oh, I fourth that. My gut hurts, that phonograph bit is so freakin' funny. I think it gets funnier with each viewing. Call Dick and Ed – that has make it into the hall of fame.

Awww… :( while I admit it was kinda funny, I felt kinda sad for the guy, he was really proud of that phonograph. :( Whatever did happen later anyway? :( Chris, do you know?

Oh my freakin' God! That was the funniest thing I've ever seen. I'm glad that was put online because I missed some of those clips when they were aired. I've been crying over the immense laughter! And who the hell was that guy who said “Sh-sh-shame on you!” ?

BTW that “sh-sh-shame on you” guy was some guy from Chicago that got onto the wired world challenge only to lose. :-(

I saw all of these when they were live. But, it's great to watch them again! Thanks for pointing them out to us Chris! :-)

It seems the guy was holding that phonograph in a death grip and it shattered. Do you think he was scared/nervous?
Oh, and when you asked him, “so, are you really done with that now?” do you think he maybe wanted to hit you in the nose with that phonograph player in the background? :-)
Nice show btw. I appreciate your “You Can Do It” attitude (even when you were wrong, and I Could Not Do It To Save My Life :-)

I think that “shame on you” bit was some guy's mom after the guy lost the WWC. She was listening in and was very disappointed in her son. lol!

Haha, I know it involved the WWC, but I can't understand why anybody would say that.

Not to be a downer on a funny moment — The guy with the phonograph may have a health condition or disability that makes his hands shake — it may not be due to nervousness. But his censoring himself did make it funny.

Health condition or not, I'm thinking he probably shouldn't have been handling something that should be behind glass in a museum – or, at the very least, in some type of glass case for field trips. However, I'm quite sure he won't be doing it again. Poor guy.

It coulda been a health condition or just plain nervousness. OMG, I'm still in disbelief about the whole thing…

On today's show Dec. 30, Roger mentioned there was only 1 way dish Internet, there's a company in Canada who offers it without the dialup to send your data up, cost is in the area of 800.00 for the hardware and 89.00 a month, but the price has fallen.

Hey Chris and Gretchen, I just wanted to thank you both for your blogs. I race home from work and check my e-mail and then your lovely wife site, then your site Chris and finally CNN. I also want to thank you again for your great Call-a-thon. I know it was a lot of work and I just wanted to let you know that we your viewers really enjoyed every moment of it and that we learned something. I hope your weekend helped you relax a little from the 18 hour workday.
