You are contradicting yourself. I would use the privacy options and tell people you have skype but YOU need to add them first before they can talk to you.
It works well. I never get random calls.

ok, so you don’t want to limit skype by using the privacy options, yet you say when you don’t expect a call form someone you likely won’t pick up… You are contradicting yourself. We use it to record our podcast over Skype. We are pretty fussy about the audio and I set MX to record as a .wav as a dual track (So I can adjust the levels for one or the other). I then mix the track into a stereo track for editing. Only because it can be tempting to edit one track over the other and "unsync" your whole piece. I edit the track then send it to mix for adding the other sound effects and music. It works very very well. We have used it for a number of weeks now and it has not let us down. We tried Pamela and found the audio quality to be somewhat lacking for podcasting purposes.Cheers.

Chris, I would throughly recommend MX Skype Recorder.
