Here is a paragraph from a UPI dispatch from Jordon. It seems some American anti-war demonstrators have seen the light.
“A group of American anti-war demonstrators who came to Iraq with Japanese human shield volunteers made it across the border today with 14 hours of uncensored video, all shot without Iraqi government minders present. Kenneth Joseph, a young American pastor with the Assyrian Church of the East, told UPI the trip “had shocked me back to reality.” Some of the Iraqis he interviewed on camera “told me they would commit suicide if American bombing didn't start. They were willing to see their homes demolished to gain their freedom from Saddam's bloody tyranny. They convinced me that Saddam was a monster the likes of which the world had not seen since Stalin and Hitler. He and his sons are sick sadists. Their tales of slow torture and killing made me ill, such as people put in a huge shredder for plastic products, feet first so they could hear their screams as bodies got chewed up from foot to head.”

Hey, Chris. Loved the blog for a while now, but I'm a little irked. Call me a pinko (“You're a pinko”), but as a law student, I've come to respect the right to free speech, and the central rule of self-determination. True, they're getting in the way of people getting some of their morning coffee in a vain attempt to save a couple thousand lives (how dare they), but shouldn't they be commended, not condemned, for their sacrafice?
What of the civil rights movement? Or the movements against the war in Vietnam?
I know they're disruptive, but the voices are not being heard. It's desperation.
After all, wouldn't it be better to save that $3 on coffee and speak out yourself so you can save money on the war taxes?
Come on, bro. I know you're smarter than that.

This say it all and that is why my brother is over in Iraq for this very reason!
The men, a few children, and one woman spoke to at least three soldiers who got out of their vehicles. Many shook the soldiers' hands or embraced them, and some kissed the soldiers' cheeks.
“God bless you, thank you very much,” said some of the villagers, according to translations by Kuwaiti TV.
“We do not want the oil. Take it. Take it. But build the country. We want to live, we want to travel, we want to walk. It cannot always be the pressure of war, war, destruction, destruction,” one villager said. “Enough, enough. We are fed up, fed up. Long live the soldiers.”

Some Americans and foreign leaders want the U.N. to take the lead on Iraq. That, of course, is a joke. The United Nations stood by and allowed a half-million people to be slaughtered in Rwanda, allowed massive atrocities in Bosnia and Kosovo, created chaos in Somalia, and failed dismally in Sierra Leone. The U.N. has no power, no will and no sense of fairness. It's essentially a public-relations outfit.
You are failing to understand that we have entered into the most dangerous period of American history ever. The terrorists will kill you and your family. The nations like Iraq and North Korea have the ability to provide those terrorists with doomsday weapons. You are failing to recognize true evil.
In the 1930's millions didn't want to confront Adolf Hitler and many Jews in Europe could not conceive of an evil that would attempt to wipe out an entire race of people. Thus, millions of Jews were caught by surprise when rounded up by the Nazis and the world did not join to fight Hitler until it was far too late.
Today's terrorists are Nazis. They will slaughter you and your family, but unlike the Nazis, they have no fear of death.
Americans need to wake up and fast. We are in crisis period where mass murder is an every day possibility.
If every country in the world would confront the evil of terrorism it could not exist on this planets but every country will not do that. They do not see the evil, they do not care if Americans die. The Nazis are back and this time their Panzers are plutonium and anthrax. God help us.
Our allies are making billions off Saddam. Those billions mean a lot more to them than American lives do. And that is the cold heart truth of the international situation

I know the feeling. My normal 15 minute commute home turned into an hour 1/2 yesterday due to protesters. Fine – protest – but get out of the street. They are lucky they didn't get run down by someone with road rage. Then they'd really have something to protest about. We're at war – time to support our troops not protest the fact they are there.

Ah yes, the ignorant poster trying to bash Conservatives…
What exactly do these protesters think that they are going to accomplish other than piss off people that are also mostly against the war?
There's nothing in the Constitution or Bill of Rights that says that you have the right to act like a total ass.
The war is on and will be over so quickly that all these protesters are doing is pushing people over to the right. Not exactly a goal that I would aspire to as a liberal.
BTW I think that the time for aggressive protesting is over. Now is the time to show our support for our servicemen doing their duty to protect our freedoms abroad. Anyone who burns the flag or antagonizes someone in position of authority ought to be kicked in the crotch.
No, it isn't OK to burn the US flag during a time such as this. No, it isn't OK to throw eggs at cops. No, it isn't OK to spit on military members. No, IT ISN'T OK TO ACT LIKE A COMPLETE AND UTTER ASSHOLE JUST BECAUSE YOU BELIEVE IN SOME CAUSE.

There are people (Americans, presumably) burning the American flag and smiling. It is beyond pathetic. We live in a free enough country where you can burn the United States Of America flag and not get the crap beat out of you, legally anyway. Have any of these people served in the military or just suck down lattes and bitch about the war, I would like to know. What a bunch of raging idiots.
