I own a small computer co. Retired MicroSucks @ the Redmond Plant, MSCP..and have a tiny bit of knowledge and it really doesn’t make any difference WHAT you have for an OS: Windows, Mac, Linux, BeOS, QNX, Athoes, Linspire, ReactOS, VisOpSys, Amoeba, Plan9, Symphony,
Unix ………. They ALL have a common denominator… “Quirks”.. There’s NO “perfect” OS … never will be ether, folks. Experiment, find which OS works ALL of your peripherals, as well as your Programs, and is easy for you to navigate, and easy to keep “updated” . All “new” OS’s take time to get the “bugs” out… Some OS’s NEVER will get the bugs out… Experiment.. learn from others trial and errors.

I may get Vista but there are so many problems I think I will wait until I find an on line job that I do not have to pay money to start and then hopefully get the money to purchase a system with Vista on it that runs at a 3.6Ghz+ clock speed by AMD. Maybe a quad core machine with no less than 4 or 5 GB of DDR2 ram. I’m not asking for much just maybe a network server spec system for home and Internet use.

help been here 3days and can not get my pc to recognise the vista disc at all, i`ve tried it in cd rom, DVD and my writer but they all work with every other disc i have, help before the pc hits the wall, oh and i know its not fault on the disc itself as i`ve loaded it onto my laptop

i am upgrading my windows xp but while upgrading it shows some error at 49 % and directly goes to 100% and is not upgraded

Having Vista on a partition was a pain! I kept having to run check disk just to get in to XP. Not sure why.

I am just not going the Vista route. After looking at Vista I like MCE etc but, other then that I didn’t see much need to go with Vista. Sound Blaster driver still in beta as well.

not everyone gets a new pc every couple years. mine works fine with xp, but like to keep current. ms keeps telling me i can’t use vista on my pc. it is to expensive also, are they trying to lose customers?

Before you waste $500 on VISTA ask yourself this do i
download music, movies or pictures for FREE? if you answered yes than i recommend that you dont get sucked into vista. it is exactly the same as XP accept it looks cooler AND IT WAS DESIGNED TO BLOCK MUSIC AND MOVIE DOWNLOADING.
think about it hundreds, thousands of bands trying to make money and
everybody downloads thier songs off limewire or morpheus or where
ever they can. and what about multimillionare movies, most people
like you and i just download them. VISTA has come to gether with an
idea, to block all websites that offer FREE DOWNLOADING, to block all
P2P software. the other day i decided to upgrade my morpheus and to my surprise anything that i wanted to download would be blocked, i typed in a song, tried to download it and it says, THIS IS A COPY RIGHTED
VERSION. they are taking over our entertainment. in 5 years vista
will be installed on every computer in the world. go to your daily
harvey norman or WOW catalogue and what do you see every single
laptop, pc, now comes with vista. vista only came out like a month
ago they would have to be mad to offer it already installed. maybe if you
listen to the song DOWNLOAD THIS SONG by MC LARS you will
understand. pass this on. tell everybody you know, about VISTA. just
amagin, teens of the future having to pay for their music and movies.

I Have Windows Vista and i want to install tomy PC when i install the windows vista installation is complete reboot my PC then the Blue screen is coming when i go to login there is coming erro Please Activetion Onlin the windows vista and Retyep the Protect Key . when i tyep the Key dosn’t work agin agin coming . i don.t know what should i do?

Wow – what a mess. Installed Vista 2/5/07 with the following results so far. Norton isn’t compatable so you have to delete the entire program. Surely Microsoft didn’t do this on purpose. Where did y MSN dial up go? A message during installation says it’s not compatable with Vista. And these guys spent 5b years on this and couldn’t make it work with MSN? Lost all my outlook files (800 names and addresses) but of course they are backed up. Minor problem with the attachments to Quicken – they are no longer there. My advise DON”T INSTALL THIS HORROR. My desktop still has XP thank heavens. I plan to reformate this laptop and reisrall XP. You might want to consider selling their stock.
