Sad to say, but I turned the big 4 – 0 this year; and while most of my life I was happy with my appearance, things that I always cracked jokes about on other men have come back to haunt me.

I’m talking about back hair. Now I’m not saying I’m like Steve Carrolls fur sweater appearance in “The 40 Year Old Virgin”, but as a person who’s going through a divorce I can’t help but think when I’m ready to date again, women will scream SASQUATCH! and run. I want to lose he hair; but I don’t want to lose 3 layers of skin with wax treatments. Unwanted ear hair I am diligent about; but I can’t reach my entire back. any suggestions?

Please be kind… I’m already aware that karma can be a bitch to folk like me.

The only way to shave is with a double edge razor w/Feather Blades and Nancy Boy shaving soap. It’s the way your grandfather’s shaved.

Another fan of the Fusion Power here. A tip for everyone who has one, it’s compatible with other Gillette blades which are cheaper. The ordinary Fusion uses literally identical blades, but they cost less, so that’s what I usually buy.

I’d change Chris’ instructions by skipping the “get out of the shower” step. If you keep your facial hair simple, it’s easy to shave blind, but if you are picky one of those mirrors that attaches to the shower head so it doesn’t steam up is incredibly useful.

For electric razors I prefer the Philishaves (I’ve tried Brauns too).

Nowadays I use a Gillette Fusion electric “disposable” and to prevent my wife from using it I bought her the “lady” version (and make sure that hers is easier to find than mine!).
