Twitter: It’s pissing me off!
Okay, yeah – so I’m kinda getting twitterpissed. There are a few people in twitterland who I thought were real-life friends, and even though my twitterings are at a minimum, and even though I had already added them as friends, they aren’t reciprocating. WTF is up with that? http://twitter.com/chrispirillo isn’t that difficult to find.
Not a minute goes by when I don’t see someone talking about twitter, so let’s just try to make this semi-interesting. I finally have 1-888-PIRILLO (1-888-747-4556) set up to ring directly to voice mail, so…
- Pick up a phone (or Skype)
- Punch in 1-888-7474-556 (1-888-PIRILLO)
- State your name and URL
- Answer today’s question: Do you love / hate Twitter, and why?
Anybody and everybody can participate. I’ll string together the voicemails and post ‘em as soon as I have a few in the stack. C’mon, talk to us. I’ll ask a completely different question tomorrow.
BTW, Ponzi had added ~20 twitterfriends before she added me as a friend (and I only discovered she had a Twitter account after Jeff Barr IM’ed me about it). Great. Now “twitter” is a freakin’ part of our home vocabulary.

I completely agree! It’s Google talk bot has been offline for a couple of days – guess twitter had to scale up with all the new users…
hopefully it gets back to normal sometime soon…

680 Friends 672 Followers versus 0 Friends 0 Followers sorry can’t feel sorry for you. Although I’d agree it is lame if you have true online friends that use the service on a regular basis and they aren’t returning the love.

Do you Twitter…
Ok lets play follow the leader, the sheep, the lamb and the in crowd. Well just because something is getting tons of buzz doesn’t mean right off hand it’s pure crap. Is this idea really revolutionary? Not really. But everyone is doing it and it’s sa…

[...] Chris Pirillo solicited and recorded some reader feedback (MP3), which includes a mini-rant from me (just after the halfway mark, more or less) about the pridefulness of blogging, and the sheer hubris of Twitter. [...]

Precisely the reason I created twitterami AND the reason I reduced my friends to about 11 tonight…with the exception of scoble, everyone else twitters about 3 times a day but now after sifting through 100 from scoble I see everyone elses.

“even though I had already added them as friends, they aren’t reciprocating.”
That’s because your Twitterstream sucks. You use it as a supremely lazy tumblelog, not as a “what am I doing?” presence/status indicator.
Who wants a constant stream of 3-word microblog titles, with links to read more, pushed to their cell phone all day long?

tis a sad comment on ‘life,’ per se, when people have to ‘twitter’ to feel good about themselves. nice place for the alphabet soup crowd to hangout and spy on all the twitterers twitting about the friggin world. bo-ring! i mean who gives a rats ### about rats-### taking a damned dump somewhere in alta waziristan!
i used the damned thing for a little while and soon got very bored with all the ‘friends’ of ‘friends’ of ‘friends…’
same with all the other ’social networks’ out there. like bubble gum, too sweet and no taste. i’ve been on the net for 20 years and am sorry to say i am feeling like dumping the whole damned thing in order to get down with some real computing but then i just may dump the computer and everything related and go to the deep forests never to see a humano-bot again.
too much mindless webtrash an ordered, successful, life…just doesn’t make! ;)

I honestly feel that Chris Pirillo’s Twitter feed is really annoying. I follow a lot of people on Twitter, and I find that he churns out so many Tweets, that it constitutes spam. I find that I’m always reading posts which direct to other places (his website). An occasional Tweet to his website would be okay, but I never see anything that isn’t like that. I follow people to find out interesting things about their day, or something their into, not read Chris Pirillo’s spam. I’m probably going to unfriend him, as it’s a huge annoyance.
