Hi Chris,
Been a fan from the old TechTV days. My question for you is about clustering. This has just become my new home project. I want to take the unused PCs in my house and put them to work. Here’s the specs I’ll be working with;
My main system is a AMD XP-2600 (clocked at 2019MHz)
The second will be an AMD XP-2200 (factory clocked buy Compaq)
The third is an old P3 (my wife has a nice box but she won’t let me pimp/network it…Did that come out right????)
I think the 2 AMD boxes should work, but the P3 might slow the cluster down.
I have never tried this, and any tips/advice would be nice.
Please respond if you chose to put this on the videocast.
One other thing. My wife uses win 2000Pro by choice, every other system in my house is Linux. My son’s friends come to me for Linux help.
I know you’re not much for Linux, but the kids (10- 20 years old) are loving it! They all want to use my Linux (Ubuntu) over windows. My youngest (10) lives with her Mom, and just asked me to burn her a Live Linux CD just for the games.
