Never they have a desktop which is both good looking and functional. Perhaps the *nix world should concentrate on that instead making so many different alternatives that no one ever really needs. I mean come on do u really need that many different wm, it's a joke!!!

Yeah well the alternatives are really a non issue I mean when have you ever had a Windows or Mac user say to themselves hey u know I wish I had a different window manager? But you can also go for things like XFCE4, KDE4, LG3D, Enlightenment, or if you like really basic, blackbox, fluxbox, fxde, afterstep. The wonderfull thing about linux, isn't all the eye candy, it's the saftey Unix-like systems provides, and the amazing customization open source provides.

You know bob, you may not like compiz but theres alot of alternatives, shit, things like wobbly windows are just plugins, you don’t even have to activate it. Not to mention it's buggy as fuck! Java swing components end up not being rendered & hence make Limewire unusable in Hardy and movies aren't rendered in Mandriva on my system under compiz either!!! I can't understand why peop using Linux think it makes it so much better and brag about how Vista can't do that !!! Quite frankly I wouldn't want it to either !!!!!!!!!!

I can’t stand compiz, the wobbly windows drive me nuts, the flames thing slow down the computer (yes i know u dont have to have these effects) and as for the desktop workspaces, like flip 3d in Vista, can you say never ever ever used!!!!!!! I have used Windows platforms all of my life, just now switched to Macintosh-based computer systems and starting to explore how Linux based systems work and all the different distributions. I would have to say this looks awesome! Awesome review.

This looks very interesting. I do miss the cube views I made with the AMD Athlon XP PC I once had. Thanks for another awesome review!

This is the best compiz fusion review I have ever seen, it makes me want to install Linux again just to use it.
