Have you ever visited the land of Oz? I’m not talking about the place where you’ll find the Wizard. I’m talking about Australia – land of Roos! Australia is a place I’ve always wanted to visit. A few people have sent in lists of excellent places to see if I ever make it there. If you’re from Syndey, where else do you recommend we check out?

  • St. Mary’s Cathedral – St Mary’s Cathedral stands in the center of Sydney as a Christian statement of grace and beauty. Generations of artists have bequeathed to it their magnificent gifts in stone and glass, designing a unique space of solace and prayer within this vibrant city. It’s also one of Sydney’s most treasured historic buildings.
  • Sydney Jewish Museum – This museum is rich in Jewish culture and the history of the Holocaust. With more than 3000 volumes, audio and videotapes, journals and personal testimonies, the Resource Center is valuable for lay people and scholars alike.
  • AMP Tower + Skywalk – Skywalk is a unique high-altitude adventure on top of Sydney Tower. At 260 meters above Sydney, experience an exhilarating outdoor walk on the roof of the city. Dressed in protective clothing and safety-harnessed to external walkways, Skywalkers experience a buzz unmatched by any other Sydney attraction, at double the height of Sydney Harbor Bridge and the same height as the Eiffel Tower.   • Taronga Zoo – Taronga Zoo is home to native Australian wildlife and a diverse collection of exotic species. Their aim is to inspire care and protection for all of the world’s wildlife and their habitats.
  • Palm Beach – Palm Beach, the jewel of the Northern Beaches, is the northernmost suburb of Sydney, less than an hour drive from the Opera House, Sydney Harbor Bridge and the CBD. Nestled on a landmark peninsula, it is blessed with a unique contrast of lush evergreen bushland and beaches of golden sand, enveloped by the pristine blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and the calm sailing paradise of Pittwater.
  • The Rocks – The Rocks, in the heart of Australia’s most cosmopolitan city, encompasses the past, present and future. It was created by a young architect who understood and recognized the potential provided by the site against the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour.
  • Mrs Macquaries’ Chair and Point – Mrs Macquaire’s Chair, otherwise known as Lady Macquarie’s Chair, provides one of the best vantage points in Sydney. The historic chair was carved out of a rock ledge for Governor Lachlan Macquarie’s wife, Elizabeth, as she was known to visit the area and sit enjoying the panoramic views of the harbor.
  • Sydney Royal Botanical Gardens – The Royal Botanic Gardens is a place of natural beauty, where people come for peace, relaxation, education, and to learn more about plants and horticulture. The surrounding parkland of the Domain is a place for sport, entertainment and recreation.
