Tony Little's Gazelle

I've been a huge fan of Tony Little's Gazelle for several months now. Out of all the exercise equipment I've ever used (at home or remotely), it's been the easiest, cleanest, and most effective. It's a glider, not an eliptical. Tony Little is more than a little annoying with his commercial, but don't ignore his product if you're looking to fulfill a New Year's Resolution. I had abandoned my Gazelle for several weeks, since I'd been busy with personal and professional things. Two days ago, I hopped on it for a 600-calorie burn. No sore muscles. Last night, I did a 500-calorie glide. Today, I'll be using the Gazelle again. I have the basic (Tony Little's Gazelle Freestyle) unit, but have been looking to upgrade to a more feature-complete system:

How can you improve upon perfection? Tony Little has upgraded the Gazelle Supertrainer with Soft Glide technology. This revolutionary feedback system puts a bounce in your step with every glide. It makes exercising on the Gazelle more interactive, more responsive and more fun. The “soft glide” creates an even more natural movement for you and helps energizes your workout. And remember, the more energizing and fun the movement, the more likely you're going to stick to the exercise program and achieve your fitness goals.

This “newer” Gazelle is about twice as expensive, but could be a perfect upgrade (so long as I've got resistance settings, which the Gazelle Freestyle lacks). Any other Gazelle fans out there? Let's keep each other motivated throughout 2005!

I bought the Gazelle two years ago but didn't like it (too boring to use). I enjoyed walking in the woods and countryside moreso, and I lost a lot of weight.

dude, you gotta get us a small movie of you gazelling.
PLEASE!

omg, i would laugh so hard. I think I would piss myself if I saw that. I was laughing pretty hard when you gave wicket that vibrating ball, that was golden. This should be platinum compared to that. You have to put up a video man, you just have to.

Hey Chris I have the same model you have. I try to use mine everyday typically for an hour (600 to 800 calories). Very low impact and easy on the joints. I love it! I have been using it exclusively for a few months now. All my other equipment is getting dusty.

Chris, I just bought the new Gazelle Cross Trainer Pro tonight from HSN (Home Shopping Network). Tony was on there selling these things like hotcakes. The price was awesome compared to everything I've seen so far. $239 with free S/H and two DVD training videos. I think it is only on speacial this weekend.

Why don't you walk outside a little or a lot? that was the idea when your body got legs.

i've been thinking of buying a gazelle… you mention that the gazelle freestyle lacks resistance options, which the newer model with “softglide” tech includes… but does anybody know the difference between the “Tony Little Gazelle Cross Trainer with Pistons” and the “Tony Little Gazelle Cross Trainer Pro with Softglide Technology”?? i've been trying to compare them on hsn.com and their descriptions are practically identical. do they both have resistence levels?

I purchased my basic Gazelle during my lunch break this Tuesday, and have been on it every night this week – I LOVE IT!! It's sooo much better than my betrayed treadmill (which I paid three times as much for a few months ago, and used about five times total)! I have a goal to lose 40 pounds over the next three or four months, and hope this is the ticket. Would like to know if anyone is seeing good results with the machine (?)

i was given a Gazelle for Christmas and just love it.

Just came across your website. Looking for a Gazelle plus. I hate how they make a piece of equipment and then improve on it so that you have to buy a new one.
But it seems like a lot of fun. Good luck!

one question, what ages should or shouldn't use the gazelle???

I'm looking to buy a gazelle, I hope it works wonders for my stomach, hips and thighs…. your comments helped. thanks!

I am with you, Chris. I absolutely love the Gazelle Freestyle. I've been a member of gyms (didn't go), owned a rowing machine (backache), an exercise bike (too boring and stressful on knees). I haven't liked doing any exercise except swimming (impractical with no pool!) and the Tony Little Gazelle Freestyle.
People underestimate what this machine is doing. There is something totally uplifting about the movement, that is not just related to the act of exercise itself. It is impossible to be on the Gazelle and not be smiling. It really gives a boost. If you watch yourself in a mirror you will hardly believe the speed that your legs and arms are going – there is no way most people could run this fast if they were hitting the sidewalk inbetween every step. It really does enable unfit people to actually run.
As a fellow geek – at the screen for anything up to 24 hours a day – the Gazelle is fantastic. It gets rid of all the shoulder stresses, and neck aches, and enables easy stretching. You have something to hold on to and don't fall down.
The Gazelle Freestyle is quite an amazing thing. Something that lives up to the hype. I am a consumer par excellence and can confirm that very few things do. Bought on a whim from, of all places a shopping channel, this was and continues to be a very nice surprise.

This thing sucks! It makes that sqeeky noize that is so annoying…I reather stay fat and die on my bed….

I'm really interested in buying one of teh Gazelles, but there seems to be so many, I'm not sure which one to get. Anyone out there that has more than one (i.e, upgraded from Freestyle to another) care to comment on if the more expensive Gazelles are worth it, or stick with the basics. Thanks!!!!

Does the hsn crosstrainer pro have multiple piston resitance settings?

I really like it but does it really work?

good comments on here…but can anyone tell us if they've lost a significant amount of weight using the Gazelle??? thanks!

I'd like to buy the Gazelle Cross Trainer Pro, but am nervous…..will it squeak like crazy like the other reviews I'v heard about the Gazelle?? Otherwise, it looks like fun – and low impact, too.

I have the Gazelle Freestyle and love the low impact workout I get with it. I only have one problem…I can't get the on board computer to work. The thumb pulse works, but that's it. Someone gave me the Gazelle after she decided they didn't like it, but she couldn't find the instruction manual. So I have no clue as to how to operate the computer. Could anyone tell me how they got the computer to calculate distance, calories burned, speed & time??
Thanks

I had purchased my gazelle 2 months ago. I love it and im getting into shape. I also have a bad knee the gazelle is 1 awesome machine. Just go buy 1 and see for yourself

Does anyone have a workout video for the Gazelle or know where to get one? Would love a copy! Email me if you can help…imsunsetrose@yahoo.com. Thanks!!!

HELLO I HAVE A BRAND NEW GAZELLE FREESTYLE SUPERTRAINER I WANT TO SELL THE ONE I AM SELLING IS STILL SEALED BRAND NEW IN THE BOX STILL

It really works but it seems like none of the computers work. Mine stopped after a couple of weeks. My aunt lost something like 36 pounds from working out on the Gazelle for 10 minutes a night and she's almost 60.

49 year old woman here. Just bought one for health/weight. I can see that after a time i'll want to upgrade to one with resistance. But for a start the plain freestyle will proove to my husband that i'll actually use it! Bought mine at 'play it again sams' for under 100 bucks, which specilazes in used equipment. Will be bringing my old coatrack (aka treadmill) to them for re-selling :). Barley used the thing. Just had to be on it too long and was not enjoyable.
As far as walking outside.. Ever lived up north?? where it is 20degrees and BELOW for 8 months out of the year? Yeah, I walked outside in summer fine. But now that it is winter need something more. And the walking I did do apparently wasn't enough to help me loose weight, or I never stuck to it enough.
I will post here again if the Gazelle is a sucess for me! Planning a trip to Hawaii in 2007! Nothing like insentive to loose the excess weight!

I have an older Gazelle and would like to purchase the bushings for the upper part. I have had no luck in searching for parts. Can/will someone help me. I like the unit and would like to keep it. I've done searches, etc. I have really tried. I cannot make them. Don't have a lathe anyymore.
David

we just picked up a used gazelle freestyle extreme at the goodwill yesterday. It seems promising (especially at the price we paid for it for!) but it didn't come with the videos or manual. I found a manual for the “elite” model but it doesn't tell which movcments work what. I'm not sure where to get that information. If anyone has any links or can give a quick reply on some of the basic principles of what does what (ie. pushing on the handle bars more/adjusting posture to work specific areas/etc.) that would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks.

RE: Bushings and videos
Gazelle's are manufactured by FitnessQuest.com-they have a “Contact Us” at the web site. There are umpteen videos and DVD's available from Tony Little that will show you “the moves”-do a google search or check out QVC or HSN in the U.S. or TheShoppingChannel.com in Canada to purchase.

Has anyone else had this problem:
One of the gliders moves easier than the other. this really upsets my rythem and makes my left leg work really hard compared to my right (right side moves very easily, left side drags).
I think it is because the lubricant on the left glider somehow was pushed out during shipping – I didn't know what that brown grease was until I had cleaned it off and thrown it away. So I put vaseline on the bar, but cannot get it inside the swivel joint at the end of the glider. this makes the machine useless for me! how can I get the grease inside the joint and what kind should I use?

I'm looking into buying something in the next couple days. I live in an apartment (2nd floor of a house). I don't want to get something that makes a lot of noise as I plan on using it while I watch a movie and/or like 03:00am (I work 12 hour shifts, and so sometimes, when getting ready for night shift, I'll stay up really late)
So, I'm curious, again, is it going to make a thumping sound that'll keep my neighbours up??? Thinking either one of these, or a bike, or something.
Figure this might be the best way to go, use to us a treadmill at my parents place pretty religiously

I have been useing my gazelle for 3 weeks now, 30 mins before i go to bed. Is it better to do it when you wake up or before you go to bed or does it matter? Its just seemes like im gaining weight instead of loseing it.

Hello, I have just dug out the Gazelle again after year, and i love it! Though, i seem to have lost the video and any other info. that goes along with it and i can't remember much of what to do. If anyone could explain what particular movements do, that would be greatly appreciated. :)

Hey, specifically where did you guys apply the WD-40 to get it to stop squeaking? Seems like I applied it everywhere and the thing still squeaks. Thanks.

a) Can a Skinny guy use this to keep fit. I am a IT professional working 14 hours a day from home office and am trying to figure out a best way to hop on to something and get my heart pumping for 30 mins when I find time.

No time to walk outside as I always get Support calls and have to rush back to my PC.

b) Any other equipment for stressed out people ?

I do Yoga and Meditation daily!! Have asked my friend to buy me Meditation MP3 from India so I can listen on my iPOD to keep me relaxed at work

my friend gave me his freestyle crosstrainer pro but he lost the instructions and i can’t figure out how to change the resistance. please please tell me!

I have been using the Gazelle for 6 weeks now straight (every day-15 to 30 min a day) and have lost 20 pounds. My legs have definitely slimmed down and most of all my butt is half the size. This machine works wonders as long as you stay consistent. ;)

I’ve been using the gazelle for just over a year now and have lost about 80 lbs without dieting!

BUT, I go through 1 machine MONTH! Yes a month! Thank god Walmart has a 3 month warranty on them.

I do about 10 km’s a day, every day and I find that after about 200 km’s the cable connecting the front and back legs starts to come out of the holes (the metal actually bends outwards from the pressure of the cables pulling out) in the main bars which in turn allows the machine to “stretch” out lower causing the bars the handles are attached to to smash into the front crossbar.

Is anyone else having this problem?

It looks like this won’t be a problem with the new Power Plus but I’m in Canada and they don’t sell them here yet.

Hello,
I purchased the Gazelle a while back and I have used it so much that I need to replace the cables that are attached to the foot platforms. I was wondering if anyone would know where I could purchase them or would I have to purchase a new Gazelle?

my sister just bought a free style evolution but hasn’t been able to use it because it’s missing one of the snap ons that go onto secure the vertical pedal part to where you put your foot on. Does anyone know who sells this snap on part that I’m looking for?? thanks

I have the gazelle but i have one question..does it take forever to burn calories? i was on it for a few min and only burned 8 calories! it doesnt seem right.. can you answer this? in my email. thanks!

How do you change the resistance of the pistons on the Gazelle Freestyle Crosstrainer Pro

I bought I crosstrainer pro and I only burn 50 cal in 30 min! Does anyone els have this problem? I can’t believe I only burned 50 cal in 30 min. I burn more walking. Please let me know email me at litmohrly@yahoo.com

Does anyone have the assembly instructions to the Gazelle PowerPlus? When we moved and tried re-assembling it, it somehow didn’t work as smoothly as before. Any help would be appreciated.

I think that you multiply the calories burned by 10 to get the calories burned. I started last year and am a woman that is 5′8 and was 149lbs. 45 minutes 5 days a week and I lost 25 pounds in 6 weeks. It works. I have the heavy duty one and have used it for 18 months. It has a small squeak that stops if you adjust your foot. Love this machine, everything else is gathering dust!

Love my freestyle gazelle, It does squeak a lot, and I have oiled everything. Any suggestions? Also, interested in the newer model. My foot seems to move on this one. I have lost 25lbs in 2 months with diet. I exercise everynight for 30 mins on my machine. Does anyone have this problem the bottom of my foot has a burning sensation when I exercise after about 20 mins. I wear good tennis shoes and have tried different shoes still same problem.

About three years ago, simultaneously, I developed a foot problem and the gym I was attending very regularly closed. The foot problem healed. I bought a Gazelle Freestyle with the pistons. I rarely use the pistons except when working outer and inner thigh. However, without the pistons, this equipment gives an excellent lower and upper body workout and wonderful aerobic benefit. We now have a total gym, spinning bike, free weights, Urban Rebounder, and the Gazelle at home. None of them sit in the corner, but the Gazelle is my favorite because of its multiple benefits as mentioned above. I alternate the 40-minute, 45-minute, and 30-minute videos and also have and sometimes do Tony Little’s personal trainer videos (weights). I love the Gazelle, and like any exercise equipment, it can be easy or hard, beneficial or worthless. It’s up to you to make the effort. I put my heart into it, literally, and it is a great workout. I also really like the personal trainer videos. If you need parts, try this. I contacted Fitness Quest from the website and received an e-mail with a phone number to order new cables for my Gazelle. Someone asked about what ages the Gazelle is appropriate for. I do just as much and as fast as Tony does in the videos when he is in his mid to late 40’s. I will be 61 in two days. My mom, who lives with me, will step on the Gazelle and gently walk and exercise her arms in the process for 20 minutes occasionally.

I just bought the new Gazelle Sprint Master… & it arrived today. It took about 1 hour to assemble all by myself, but then I was too busy to try it out. I am so excited! It is going to be my morning workout!! :)

Just assembled the Gazelle Sprint Master, first off… one of the main bolts that connects the front and back of the machine was busted and I had to go the hardware store and find a similar bolt so I could continue assembly. I found the assembly directions rather poor as well. Once it was assembled and ready to go I had the worst annoying squeeking sounds coming out of it. I tried lubricating every moving part as far as even taking the whole thing apart again in order to do this and I still cant get the noise out of it, it seems to be coming from the right side somewhere in the crossbar. Oh yeah and one more thing, the computer doesnt work, it only reads my pulse but everything else just stays at “0:00″ even with fresh batteries. Other than all that I think its a great machine. If anyone can give me a suggestion on how to get rid of the horrible squeeking sounds I would greatly appreciate it. As for the computer, not a huge deal although rather disappointing. If I can just get the squeek out of it I think it will be an enjoyable machine. It just sucks that there have been this many problems on my first day of using this machine.

I was given a gazelle basic model and the device that tracks the calories and time don’t seem to work. If I am on it for 30 minutes, what is the total calories burnt?

Phyllis,

My feet burned terribly in the beginning. The burning would begin after about 20 minutes. Over time the burning did go away. I was able to ride for longer and longer before it would start and after about 2-3 months of use I could ride for an hour or two and my feet no longer hurt.

After 15 months and about 18 Gazelle’s I finally bit the bullet and bought an Elliptical. I figured the cost of the Bremshey was more than worth the hassle of having to return a Gazelle to Walmart and assemble a new one monthly.

Here are a couple of my Gazelle Fatalities. Funnily enough I never heard back from the Manufacturer when I emailed them with the pics.

Hello. Can anyone tell me how well the Gazelle folds up for storage? Is it easy to do? Does it fold up to really small? I live in a teeny tiny apartment but am developing a desire for my very own GAZELLE.

Thanks for the help!

i bought a gazelle thinking it was so cheap that even if i didn’t use it, it wouldn’t be a huge loss. i’ve been using it for one month, for 20 minutes every morning, while my kids watch a cartoon. i use with the hydrolic resistance. so far my whole body seems more toned, especially back side. i’ve lost a few pounds, but am not worried because i know that when starting an exercise program it is common not to lose weight, because fat is being lost but muscle gained, and muscle weighs more. but, i should lose weight if i keep it up because once the muscle is there, it burns calories far faster than fat. in general i love the machine, it is easy and actually fun to use. i use arm weights during half of my 20 minutes which gives me work to balance myself and works out my upper body.

the only problem . . . i also have a squeak! it is also coming from a mysterious spot on the right side of the machine. so annoying, but i just turn up the volume on my mp3 player and then i can’t hear it. i would appreciate any tips on how to get rid of the squeak.

by the way, i believe that a morning workout has been shown to improve sleep the best. afternoon is ok but evening workouts can disrupt sleep (but if it works for you …)

Isabel, the Gazelle is fairly heavy/cumbersome. I have to just fold it closed and lean it against a wall. I don’t think it would fit under a bed or behind a door. One of the wheels came off mine so it’s now harder to roll. But I still love it for great exercise!

I just bought the Gazelle freestyle version. I am 31 and have never worked out in my life. I read reviews about this machine & heard it was perfect for beginners. I didn’t buy it to lose weight because I am practically skin & bones. I wanted to gain muscle & improve my overall physical health. After just 2 days of using this machine (about 20-30 minutes once a day), I saw massive results. My ribs, which were clearly prominant just a few days ago, are now almost invisible due to a nice build up of muscle. My legs, butt, stomach, arms and back are already noticably toned. I love this machine! I would recommend it to anyone. I love it so much, I look forward to the end of my workday so I can rush home to jump on it! Today will be my 4th day of using it…I plan to use it every day until it falls apart. When it does bite the dust, I already plan to buy an upgraded version of it.

I have one of the original Gazelle Platinum units.

I really enjoy my time on this but have one real frustration I’m wondering if someone can help me with.

This unit slides. During a 30 minute workout, I have to stop every 10 minutes or so and move it back to it’s original position otherwise it would slide all the way to the other side of the room.

I’ve tried using it on carpet and on a wood floor same issue.

Is there any way to stop this problem?

Hi. Just received the Gazelle Sprintmaster yesterday. On this morning but could only handle 10 minutes. I am a new Mother trying to lose 40 lbs of pregnancy weight.

Will this work if I get up to 30 min. per day and of course, healthy eating?

I have an Elite. We took it apart to make room for guests, and have not been able to re-assemble it correctly. The right side cable keeps falling off the upper arm. The instructions do not detail the attachment of the cables. Please help. I’d much rather use my gazelle than my treadmill!

I have the gazelle freestyle, and love it!!! I have sever arthritis in my kness, and this machine offers a great workout with practically no impact on the joints. I read some reviews that complain avout the squeaking, and I have a question, did you leave the grease on the axle? If you wiped it off, then you need to grease it well again. Mine is practically silent. The young lady on the dvd is annoying, but that gives me impetus to work harder. All in all a great product.

Can someone give me info about calorie burning??

My Mother has severe knee and hip problems resulting from a car wreck 20 years ago and has recently developed Rheumatoid Arthritis. A neighbor gave her a Gazelle Freestyle and she loves it! It allows her to exercise with no pain. The only problem is that they had lost the instruction manual and they do not remember how to work the digital controls. Is there a way to get an instruction manual or directions on using the digital meter? She would just like a way to monitor the distance, rate, etc. Thanks in advance for your help!

wife and I both love outdoor hiking but weather does not permit sometimes. have a treadmill but since buying the gazelle because of Wifes knee problems the treadmill is not used much now. The gazelle works you more that it seems when your on it. I am buying a second one to tavel with on my job we like it and it really does work, but , it still like everything must be USED to actuallly work.Bill/Wanda

Bought Gazelle in 2003….along w/ diet have lost 142 pounds. Use Gazelle 354 days a year. Most days I do 40-50 minutes but when things are rough I can almost ALWAYS manage at least 20. That’s the beauty of the Gazelle. However…. after my first thousand miles the meter stopped giving accurate readings, changing to fresh batteries hasn’t helped At first only the distance was off, now I have to tap it and watch it continually to make sure it is keeping track. If I don’t look at a clock I lose track of how long I’ve been on, and it often clears all it’s reading for no reason I can find. It seems to happen more frequently when I’m doing the technique that requires the swing arms to bear more weight. This situation has led me to be concerned about what to do if it starts to break down. Is there an outlet where I can find replacement parts? I mean my Gazelle is great and I take good care of it but I’m sure that it will require repair or replacement at some point in the future. Any input?

I too own the Gazelle Freestyle ( I think ). It really kicks my butt! I think its a great work out. To be honest, I’ve been using our stationary bike recently because I just don’t want to work out so hard! The gazelle really makes me sweat! I feel like I get a better all around work out from it than the stationary bike.

I too would like to know about calorie burning. On my stationary bike, I can burn 200 calories in 30 minutes. When I do the Gazelle, it only displays at 80 or something. I feel like the workout is way more intense so I don’t understand the calorie counter.

ANY HELP OUT THERE TO EXPLAIN THE CALORIE FUNCTION?????

I received the Tony Little Sprintmaster on March 2, 2007, my husband and I put it together and since then I have been using it everyday, and I love it, I hated to exercise I’ve had a stationary bike for 12 years and maybe used it all of 2 months. On the 1st day that I used it I did 24 minutes and since then I’ve increased my time everyday. I workout every morning for an hour to one hour 15 min, and then in the past 2 weeks I added 30 minutes in the evening. I sweat like crazy and I’ve burned up to 600 calories on one workout. Alot of these times is with the resistance. And although I’ve been told that I’m gaining muscle and losing fat, I don’t see any drastic changes and especially no weight loss I am at the same weight that I was when I started a month ago. I am eating a healthy diet and drinking a huge amount of water. Can someone please tell me what I’m doing wrong?
Thank you

I am in search of the resistance bars, pistons, whatever they are called. I moved and must have gotten lost in the move. It is pointless to use the Gazelle wtihout the resistance. Someone let me know where to go to get this!!

Jessica

Reply to Ana’s post – I was going to suggest that you may be over doing it. Working out daily works for some, but you may want to cut it back to 3 times a week. My family has much better success when each of us works out 3 times a week, rather than 5-6 times. My mom has been diagnosed as a type II diabetic, a few more of us may be following soon behind, but we learned this from her doctor. Her doctor said with a balanced diet (which it sounds like you are doing) and exercising 3 times a week will be more beneficial for her (she was working out every day). She also has to eat regularly (more meals/day, more frequent) to keep her blood sugar levels under control. I, too, seem to keep my weight down when I do eat more regularly. There is some science to all of this, I just cant explain it. :-) Dont give up!!!

Calories burned is very dependent on your current weight.
From what i’ve read you burn 2 x the amount of calories of your weight.

If you weigh 280 you will burn 560 an hour… I am not sure if this is gazelle, or just aerobic activity in general.

The gazelle’s calorie burn calculator may assume you are of a healthy weight… and not overweight. Therefor, you are probably burning more than what it is saying you are. It also cannot predict muscle mass, which also affects calorie burn.

I got one at a yard sale for 20 dollars and absolutely love it. At first your feet hurt but I am going to buy some new sneakers, mine are pretty worn out. I really like how it works your arms out too. I wear headphones with my mp3 player and have not noticed any squeaking. I use mine everyday, the backs of my calves are sore but that is it. It is really easy to use and fun! Like somone else posted I find myself smiling while using it and feel so good about myself. It does not put the same wear and tear on my knees and boobs like trying to jog did. I have mine out on the back porch, you do need some room for it but it is definately worth buying!!

5 years ago I bough a Tony Little Gazelle Glider TM. I recently moved and the movers lost a foot piece. It is long black hard plastic any suggestions on how I can replace ??? HELP!

My Gazelle Elite is the highlight of my living-room. I bought it Oct of 2006 and wondered why the heck I hadn’t bought one long before. I love it!!! I lost almost 30 lbs last time I checked (Mar 20/07). Of course eating a heathy diet helps.
I never get bored using it. It is an awesome piece of equipment!!

I just ordered the gazelle sprintmaster from HSN for $229.95
I plan to use it at least 4 days a week. I think the squeaking maybe because you’re rubbing off the lubricant that comes on the components. Just leave it on there and it’ll stay quiet.
I hope I enjoy the machine as much as everyone else does.

I’m interested in purchasing the Gazelle Sprintmaster. Has anyone here lost weight while using it? If so, please let me know how the Sprintmaster has helped you, how often and how long your workouts on the Sprintmaster are. I’m also curious if anyone has owned the Gazelle Freestyle Elite AND the Gazelle Sprintmaster. If anyone has used both gliders, which do you prefer and why? Thank you in advance.

I bought a used Gazelle Max and need instructions. Does anyone know where I can get these on line?

I too own a gazelle i’ve had for several years. I use it intermittently. It’s a great cool down for after a treadmill use too. The monitor/display for speed and calories just stopped working. I emailed them here:
http://www.tonylittle.com/contact.asp

I hope I can get a new scan/display. I like the thing.

i just started using the Gazelle Platinum (a hand-me-down from the folks). my feet slide all over the foot pads, which means i have to slow down to reposition my feet. please email suggestions to prevent slipping at golfing_goddess@hotmail.com. thanks!!

My husband bought the Sprintmaster for me for X-mas and he and I both use it and we LOVE it! Word to the wise…..USE the dvd that comes with the machine…..now I know you get one dvd that has a women showing you all the moves….but you can order the dvd’s that have Tony Little on it and you may think he is cheesy and annoying…..but he makes you think and work hard on the gazelle.

He makes you want to do it the very next day and then on…..don’t buy this machine if you plan on getting on it and just swinging back and forth and expect to lose weight….not happening……you have to listen to Tony and really pay attention to how and where you should be feeling that particular movement. Now I didn’t need to lose alot of weight but I sure did drop 10-12 pounds and toned my legs back up….and once you get use to this and if Tony gets boring then turn you TV on the music channel and really go for it……but trust me….watching Tony will make sure that you burn calories and break a sweat.

PS….I also bought a neopren belt…not sure how to spell that..lol….but I bought this cheap belt from our local Authority Sports store for under 5 bucks and it has velcro so one size fits all or most….but wear that thing for 30 mins. of cardio burning with Tony and I promise you will see results if you keep it up. I also bought 5# ankle weights that I put on for the first 10 mins. every now and again and then take them off after the first 10 mins…..and you feel like your flying high….lol

PSS….and just when you think this machine doesn’t help…..ask my husband…he had his back broken years ago and usually knocks it out of wack atleast twice a year…..well after using our Sprintmaster for only a month….he has full range of motion with the leg that only moved about half mass when he first got on that thing. Now 7 months later and no episodes or his back going out or any pain…..he’s still going strong and lovin’ our Sprintmaster!

SO if you have issuses with your back or knees…..this machine is no impact and IF you use it to it’s fullest….it WILL work for you!

hi, i have the gazelle freestyle, and i was just wondering what type of sneakers you guys use with this ? i have a brand new pair of brooks running shoes and by the time 1/2 hour comes along my feet are killing. i am doing about 60-80 minutes every other day and would like to be comfortable doing it…. maybe i’m doing it wrong ? thanks for any help. ps- there is a new gazelle out ?! i didn’t even know !!

Here is the instruction manual for the gazelle edge.-I bought one at a thrift store today, but I used one in the gym I was a member of(the only thing in there I used) I don’t have to go now-can use mine–Soooooooo happy! lol

How do u work the monitor, I got this from a neighbor with no instructions

i bought the gazelle edge two days ago, i feel liek im not doing anythign but im going to shoot for an hour a day. only problem, is that the digital reader, is broken. anyone have any information of who i can contact to get a new one? also, anyone found that the edge model is effective?

I have a gazelle with pistons, for weight resistance. After a car accident my knees and hips are pretty bad, a shame considering I am only 22 years old. So I bought this unit hoping that I could exercise longer and burn more calories without the pain from my joints. It works great. I lost all of my excess weight, about 15 lbs, in a matter of months, not years. At first I put weight on because I was building muscle mass, something I had lost while being sedentary from my pain. After about a month though you could really tell that my body was getting toner, and then the fat melted right off. For those asking how to change the resistance, take a look at where the piston is connected to the foot bed. You will notice 4 holes, one being the hole that your piston is plugged into. To change the resistance, remove the piston from the hole (this is a bit tricky, just push up the foot bed like you were preparing the unit to be moved and wiggle the piston out) and plug the piston into any of the other 4 holes. Those of you with squeaks, here is what to do…dont use WD-40, it’s a de-greaser. Use machine oil or if you are in a pinch a little cooking oil, though cooking oil wont last long. I buy Sewing machine oil from the craft store. Most of the time the squeaks come from the foot bed, the part that connects to the handle bar, it’s really hard to get the oil in this part, I recommend putting your oil in a hair spray bottle and spray it 10 times or more, work the oil in by using the gazelle for a minute or two, then spray again. Hope this helps!

I just purchased and assembled the Gazelle Sprintmaster, and have just put on the ‘little digital brain’, but can not get it to do anything more than just the pulse. Also, any idea with that little part with the magnets is for? The instructions were the only think I though was lame.

I need spare parts for my Platinum Gazelle Glider. I’m in the UK. Does anyone know if parts are available anywhere?

I weight 250 pounds and I don’t see how people use it for up to an hour. Has anyone had success using it for like 10 minutes a day? I just started it, I’m sure I will be able to pick up the amount of time but I wonder if 10 minutes is even enough to do anything. Someone please talk about results.

I have owned the Gazelle Freestyle for about 4 years. At first I weighed too much to actually use it. I weighed 301 lbs. I also have DJD in both knees. I had gastric bypass in Nov 2006, After I recovered and started to lose weight, I tried the Gazelle again. I love it! I use it daily. Sometimes twice daily. I started at 10 minutes. Now I’m up to 60-70 minutes. I now weigh 175 lbs. My problem is, 2 days ago, the cable that is attached to the left foot pad snapped. I need to buy a replacement, but I don’t know where to find one. Can anyone help me with this?

I have used my freestyle elite platnuim on and off for about 4 years with varying sucess. Lately I have compressed Tony’s tapes onto a DVD featuring his instuction in a primarly advanced 30 min workout alternating between lower body and upper body video. I have had better results when I push myself at the advanced pace by following the 4 day DVD I recorded and edited from the VHS tapes. I have had good results with New Balance cross trainers when working out on this equipment.

I have used mine for qlmost 3 years now… habitually, but… major problem i have encountered is the grip on feet/pedals. I have tried everything such as bathtub grips, surf wax, even took sand paper and sanded it down… does not work so well. Any other suggestions?…. I guess I am pointing out an engineering oops. Also the calorie counter broken, never has worked and I use the resisitance stretchy pulls and tue them around the arms for better resisitance.

I have the gazelle glider and it is wonderful, I have worked myself up to 1 hour a day, which the counter says that it is buring 500 calories, I have had it one week today, I look forward to working out on it, I had a treadmill but my foot was killing me and the doctor said that I needed to get a different piece of equipment to work out on because the treadmill was the problem so my husband bought me this and I haven’t had any problems with my foot since, but one thing is it does slide around alot, we had to put a throw rug under it.. and all this piece of equipment has is the counter for calories, miles, mins it’s wonderul.

Could someone please share how you can use the heart-rate monitor? My model is Tony Little Gazelle Supar.
Thanks.

this thing would be great but we can’t put this stupid thing together so if any one of you peoples now how to put the power pistons on then please type me back. Thanks and i really want to use it so please help me!!!!

Regarding the weird magnet thing for the Sprintmaster– I don’t know how to explain it, but you just have to move it gently on the left side with the magnets facing the center until you feel it lock.

I spent the WHOLE day putting together my Sprintmaster– that was a workout alone. I can’t wait to start using it.

Well, the machine gave me hip bursitis.
Just got that confirmed by an orthopedic surgeon.
I asked him how I got the bursitis and he swung his leg forward and backward…..just like my legs go on the machine.
Bursitis started exactly a week after I started exercising.
Stopped for two months – hip recovered with ice, aleve, etc.
Started up again on the machine and back came the bursitis.

my son was just given a Gazelle and can’t figure out how to set the controls. is there a place he can write or call to get instruction manual, or is there anyone out there who can help me out with that? thanks,
gale

I bought my gazelle used and the computer isn’t working. It’s on, but everything remains at 0. Does anyone know how to fix this?? Please e-mail me at nolansmommy0311@yahoo.com if you’ve got any ideas! Thanks!

My unit is squeaking. What kind of oil/lube do I use.
Thanks Lee

For squeaking, try tightening the screws. That fixed mine up!

HI THERE, I AM LOOKING TO BUY THE GAZELLE SPRINTMASTER BUT WOULD HAVE TO KEEP THE MACHINE FOLDED FLAT UNDER MY BED WHEN NOT IN USE. COULD ANYONE TELL ME HOW EASY/DIFFICULT IT IS TO FOLD FLAT AND STORE ON A REGULAR BASIS.

THANKS

purchased my basic Gazelle during my lunch break this Tuesday, and have been on it every night this week – I LOVE IT!! It’s sooo much better than my betrayed treadmill (which I paid three times as much for a few months ago, and used about five times total)! I have a goal to lose 40 pounds over the next three or four months, and hope this is the ticket. Would like to know if anyone is seeing good results with the machine (?)
doubledo@freemail.hu

Does anyone have assembly instructions they can copy and email to me for the basic Gazelle, I have missplaced mine! 3melton@yadtel.net

bought three months ago lost 20 lbs over 6inches great machine

Hi everyone. I just bought a used gazelle free style and I can’t wait to start, but the dr. wont let me until my ear infection is better; that I just found out I have today, ear drum is close to busting. Anyway the calorie counter/computer doesn’t work and they lady that sold it to me told it never worked. How do I fix it?

I use my Gazelle when it’s just too icy to walk outside. I live where the ice builds up quickly in the winter and it’s just too trecherous to walk.

I have a portable DVD player on a dresser in front of my Gazelle and it makes the time fly by. I put in a comedy or something…no serious movies or anything. This morning, I was watching ‘the Secret’ for about the tenth time (love that movie and learn something new each time I watch it).

Anyway, best wishes to everyone!

Hi there, love my Gazelle, but it does hurt my feet. Does anyone else have this problem? Can anyone recommend a good shoe for using the machine?
Thanks!!!

Does anyone know where to get an instruction manual online. I bought a sprintmaster some time ago and now can’t find the manual to put it together. Thanks

I have had the Gazelle for a little over a year… in the beginning it was great but now i find that i am bored and i don’t even sweat anymore when i am on it… so i will be going back to the track… the one good thing is if you stand on it sideways it works your outer thighs and your butt really good…

I bought a slightly used Gazelle Sprint Master. (Which I adore) I was wondering if any one out there could pdf the instruction/parts manual to me, as it would be much appreciated. I noticed that the computer seems to come on but does not calculate, and I also see that a piece above the piston is broken. Please if you would, respond in the forum and I will respond back with an e-mail address. Thanks!!

Ok for those having the COMPUTER problem I have found a solution. There is a piece that tends to fall out when the batteries are changed. I suspected a magnetic culprit. : ) I used a small magnet from the end of a magnetix. (This is a kids toy that was recalled because the magnets come out easily and can be swallowed.) I think any small magnet will work. I placed it under the sensor, which is easy to spot if you change the batteries. I attached it to the part of the bar that moves in the center. There was a small hole there a little smaller than my magnet. I figure this must be where the magnet should be attached. Now the sensor picks up the movement of the arms/legs and keeps speed, time, and counts calories, etc. I did finally (after the problem was fixed) get a response from support. They said, “check to make sure the magnetic cluster is facing the sensor and that wires are tight”. I think I have the earliest model but I’m sure it works like this on most models.

Hi Everybody. I bought a Gazelle Freestyle 4 years ago. Its incredible what you can do, if you do it in the right way. I did it, and I achieved amazing results. Recently, one of the wire (the right one) was broken. I can’t use my exercise machine. I’m looking where I can buy a replacement for that wire. I hope You can lead me to find it. Thanks a lot and Congratulations for this invention. I;m gonna be waiting for your kindly response.

I purchased the gazelle in December 2007. I lost almost 40lbs. My only problem with this equipment is, I lost weight yet, I did not tone. My muscles are extremely weak. It helped me to lose weight but it destroyed my muscles. Use this product only with your doctors advice. I am paying the price for losing the weight.

I have brokrn my gazelle freestyle elite…
as i moved home, it was stood up against a wall and it fell over smashing the handles and computer case in the middle.

The manufacturers website appears to be closed down and I want two new handles – with sensor grips and the casing for the computer.

Can anyone help?

Do you have a “dead” gazelle that can be stripped for parts?

Thanks for reading…

For ages I would like to buy a gazelle sprintmaster but cannot find any adress in Europe, I’m living in Holland, has somebody any idea?

My Gazelle is squeaking bad on the left side, what can I do to fix it. Also the heart monitor stop working, how can get a new one.

Does any know where I can purchase a monitor and magnet cluster for my Tony Little. Gazelle sprint master.

Thanks

I had a Gazelle Max that I left at my mom’s house when I moved out. I am looking to get a new one since she has taken over using mine. I went looking and could only find the basic version and I would really like to get the same one I used to have. Does anyone know where I can find one?

hey I am looking to download Tony Little’s Gazelle edge workout video someone please help or could someone send it to me trough my email address

so i lived with this one girl in north carolina who was trying to lose weight for her wedding.. i think she faithfully used the gazelle every morning and at night for like 4 months and wouldn’t you know that fat annoying beeyatch lost enough weight that she actually looked kinda good! Too bad it doesnt help with nasty attitudes.. but i have to give her that.. she did lose a ton of weight enough so that i was like.. hmmm maybe i should get one.. Tony Little can be annoying to some people but i have the utmost respect for that man.. i believe in anything that guy stands behind..

I have one. I had a very bad knee and couldn’t walk, nearly. Now I can walk, run and dance due to the Gazelle. It’s great
to get a workout on if your injured.

I also am having the problem with the monitor staying at 0. This is on my Gazelle Platinum that I also purchased 2nd hand. Did anyone find a solution to this, or is it broken?
thanks! Please e-mail reply to hemahara@gmail.com

I have had the Gazelle for almost 2 weeks and love it. It’s very low impact and I feel great. I’ve lost 7 pounds and 1 full inch. The easiet way to use it if your like me and im pretty lazy always watching tv. I put it in front of the tv half an hour in the morning and half an hour at night and sometimes I stay on longer without even realising it. it’s a great machine. Much easier to use I’m just beginning to get out of my bad habits and with this machine i am doing it but slowly so I don’t notice to much of a change.

I couple years ago (2005) I bought the Gazelle to help me lose weight. I signed up for the military and was 166lbs so I started doing the gazelle for a little over an hour (6miles) a day for 5 days. I would always feel the muscles hurting the day after which kept me excited about it and sure enough within 2 months I dropped down to 143lbs. I did change my diet though no soda or junk food and I’d buy slim fast bars if I was craving chocolate then after I’d eat one I do the gazelle to burn off the 120calories. I love this machine very fun and quick results. I’ve just recently bought the gazelle edge and have been getting back into it. It seems tougher then my last one and I absolutely love it.

i just bough the sprint master i love it but the computer doesnt work at all? i put new batteries in it but nothing whats this about a magnet i didnt get one????

What Do You Think?
