You did the right thing to get her what she liked. And she ll cherish them forever.
I waited 2 years to get mine, I wanted a 2 carat size and I got it after lenghty discussions. we both paid for it and I was happy. Got him a 1.50 carat . The second time he asked for his share back, he got dumped and I paid for the diamond and I kept it ! I enjoy wearing it now !

The diamond industry has done an exceptional job of marketing a not-exceptionally-rare mineral as a symbol of love, fashion, and persistence. But we humans are irrational creatures, and most women still love a diamond ring, just as we guys love dumb things too, like impractical cars and useless gadgets. And hair-growth products. :)

Yes..diamonds are way overpriced. So what! You did the right thing by getting the diamond earrings for Ponzi. She’s the best & she deserves them. My other half goes deaf when he hears the word “diamond” but he gave me mucho sapphire with diamond jewels and I love them & love him. You did good, Chris.

It took me 4 years of married life to realize that diamonds are indeed a girl’s best friend. For almost all of the 4 years I kept postponing buying any diamonds cause I could never logically understand what was so great about buying a sparkling stone. As it is my wife is very pragamatic and quite geeky so I thought she would not be greatly impressed with me splurging money. And my poor lil darling never complained. This time just for a lark I bought her a diamond ring (our wedding band was a gold ring) and she was beaming forever:) and now she is running around town showing it to everyone she knows and I am getting a lot of brownie points;) I am also getting a lot of threats from friends whose wives are pestering them for a ring;D
