The Worst News You’ll Hear All Day

I almost cried when I heard this tonight. Seriously. 60 puppies die in Mass. trailer fire:

“The puppies were all beautiful, healthy purebreds that were on their way to quality retailers in the northeast and eventually to loving New England families,” the company said in a statement. The company said it has a near-perfect safety record.

Retailers?! So help me God, if these beautiful creatures were being shipped to mall-based pet stores, I’m going to scream. Dogs die every day on the streets, in homes, at the pound, etc. - but 60 of them, en masse? That’s just so incredibly sad. The senseless loss of human life is to be equally lamented, but… puppies?! How could your heart not drop after hearing of this accident?

Puppy mills suck and the owners of such should be put in prison. 60 puppies living in a trailer? Healthy? Quality? Proof yet again there is no god, or the spokesman would have been struck dead by lightening for lying.

People who can’t commit to a pet shouldn’t get one, and people who want a pet shouldn’t do business with mills.

I hope you’re right, Chris. This should be the worst news I’ll hear all day. Let me grieve for the sixty puppies and spare me more reports of death in Baghdad, Darfur, Lebanon and Israel. Don’t tell me any more about how New Orleans isn’t being rebuilt. It would surely be a blesssing if i could wallow in puppy grief and let humanity fend for itself.

God Chris, that’s awful. I don’t let my sensitive side come out too often, but that did bother me. I love animals, all shapes and sizes. And puppies always have a special place in my heart as well.

Let’s hope that equal justice will be served to those who allowed this to happen to these poor defenseless puppies….

Nancy, did you read the article? The puppies were not being kept in a trailer, they were being shipped.
