I don't care if you're at the grocery store, your backyard, at work at school. Wherever; 5) FIGHT off cynicism by staying active in the community; i.e.: volunteering and so on. And, finally, 6) DISMISS being jaded: yes, you can talk about issues and problems in society without becoming jaded: all you have to do is state the problem, then right away start seeking solutions. Good luck, everyone! The old guys must be spinning in their graves!Of course nothing will happen -- we are all too comfortable in our cozy coocoons -- and I say this as a Canadian -- things are no different Up North. The bromide that "we get the government we deserve" does not seem to hold up to me -- I know a number of Canadians and a number of USA citizens, and none of them have deserved the sorts of government we have gotten in the past two to four decades. It is beginning to look like we may be heading for the Mother and Father of all economic crashes, making 1929 look like a birthday party. If the music stops, I suspect citizen discontent will really be something with which to reckon.

What I find truly ironic is that the political rhetoric used by the Founding Fathers of the USA is now considered criminal speech! Carlin's political philosophy hasn't evolved since junior high school.Show me a politician who doesn't accept any contributions from corporations and I'll show you someone with no chance of getting elected -- or making the changes needed to get our country back on track.Political courage comes in when you vote against the lobbyists and contributors lining up at your door. It's the exception rather than rule, alas, but it happens, and being pure is not a precondition.

If I’m not mistaken, this kind of “they’re all the same” philosophy is what got us into this epic disaster known as the Bush administration in the first place.

What crap. Yes it's been at least 30 yrs since this was a country with a social direction. Cared about it's children, elderly, working class, etc.
Although George is right, they will continue to win, what he should have stressed was; Only if we let them. They can't do ANYTHING without us!
Hell they can't even wipe their a__ without our helping them do it.
We can take this country back any time we choose. We just have to refuse to comply with their agenda. It will take some time and organization, but they can only win if we let them.

Well, good for George! revolution
rebellionthe word terrorism has been abused and warped for terrorism is the practice of causing terror (instilling fear) amongst a population (gee, sounds very similar to the way in which the governments of the UK and US have been treating their very own citizens).Terrorism is a psycological weapon, a mechanic employed to cripple an opposing force and make them easier to control.Often terrorism is used within a rebellion movement, especially when you consider that one persons terrorist is another persons freedom fighter, and when married with the forces of propaganda can be used to awesome effect.it should indeed be every citizens right to criticise the policies and actions of the government which claims to be working for them and in their name and it should never be made illegal for citizens to voice their displeasure at the performance of a method of government and so too should there be a mechanism for the enablement of change to the entity known as government when it is no longer working or is being manipulated for others unjust/unfair gain. When an entity is beyond reproach, corruption breeds.

um, abolishing something isn’t terrorism..
