Dissolve? Separation? Were the Founding Fathers not too happy with the government under which they lived? Guess so, otherwise this may have been called the Declaration of Complacency.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Liberty is awesome.

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Abolish? Dude. That’s terrorism. Apparently, so is printing your own currency.

Democrats and Republicans are the same. They’re owners – and they most certainly don’t give a fzck about you, your life, your liberty, or enabling the pursuit of your own happiness. Wake up.

um, abolishing something isn’t terrorism.. I do believe a few other words actually describe it a lot better:

uprising
revolution
rebellion

the word terrorism has been abused and warped for terrorism is the practice of causing terror (instilling fear) amongst a population (gee, sounds very similar to the way in which the governments of the UK and US have been treating their very own citizens).

Terrorism is a psycological weapon, a mechanic employed to cripple an opposing force and make them easier to control.

Often terrorism is used within a rebellion movement, especially when you consider that one persons terrorist is another persons freedom fighter, and when married with the forces of propaganda can be used to awesome effect.

it should indeed be every citizens right to criticise the policies and actions of the government which claims to be working for them and in their name and it should never be made illegal for citizens to voice their displeasure at the performance of a method of government and so too should there be a mechanism for the enablement of change to the entity known as government when it is no longer working or is being manipulated for others unjust/unfair gain.

When an entity is beyond reproach, corruption breeds.

Well, good for George! Yes it’s been at least 30 yrs since this was a country with a social direction. Cared about it’s children, elderly, working class, etc.
Although George is right, they will continue to win, what he should have stressed was; Only if we let them. They can’t do ANYTHING without us!
Hell they can’t even wipe their a__ without our helping them do it.
We can take this country back any time we choose. We just have to refuse to comply with their agenda. It will take some time and organization, but they can only win if we let them.

voting is a scam. if you are reading the earlier documents of the ‘republic,’ not democracy, then you’re already considered a terrorist by sam and his ururper crew.

better not to vote at all becasue, in effect, you don’t! voting just registers you as ‘owned by them.’ same as the birth certificate, the original being guess where? your strawman interface to all the wonders of being owned by ‘them.’ corporations are not flesh and blood human beings. ‘they’ do not own you except by subterfuge and your own ‘volunteering’ to be owned by them…mostly via ‘hidden contracts’ you were not aware of and never willfully made.

get out of the whole mess. find out who you really are and let the whole rotten house of cards fall. it is falling now so i’d suggest preparing for their end. whatcha gonna do when they come for you? ;) thanks for being relatively aware. now, stop voting…

If I’m not mistaken, this kind of “they’re all the same” philosophy is what got us into this epic disaster known as the Bush administration in the first place.

What crap. Carlin’s political philosophy hasn’t evolved since junior high school.

Show me a politician who doesn’t accept any contributions from corporations and I’ll show you someone with no chance of getting elected — or making the changes needed to get our country back on track.

Political courage comes in when you vote against the lobbyists and contributors lining up at your door. It’s the exception rather than rule, alas, but it happens, and being pure is not a precondition.

“JD Lasica” like Gore or Frankenstein’s monster would have been any better? come on! it was the lesser of 2 evils each time I voted for Bush.

And that’s the problem…let’s get someone up there that matters and once he/she is up there… DON’T WHINE!

who will that be, though? for me it’s someone that will have government protect me from alien governments and , to a limit, help keep the economy strong… it doesn’t mean someone who will get in my ass and make sure I’m eating the right foods… while others want it that way for others (not themselfs ofcourse)…

What I find truly ironic is that the political rhetoric used by the Founding Fathers of the USA is now considered criminal speech! The old guys must be spinning in their graves!

Of course nothing will happen — we are all too comfortable in our cozy coocoons — and I say this as a Canadian — things are no different Up North. The bromide that “we get the government we deserve” does not seem to hold up to me — I know a number of Canadians and a number of USA citizens, and none of them have deserved the sorts of government we have gotten in the past two to four decades.

It is beginning to look like we may be heading for the Mother and Father of all economic crashes, making 1929 look like a birthday party. If the music stops, I suspect citizen discontent will really be something with which to reckon.

Simple Solutions: 1) STOP spending so much on unnecessary crap; 2) TURN off the idiot tube or — at the very least — try to watch programs that are meaningful (in the general sense); 3) SEE the big picture, and try not to get caught up in frivolous tete-a-tetes at work and little scrimages in life that really DO NOT matter; 4) TALK about the problems you see in society: don’t let people feel too comfy. I don’t care if you’re at the grocery store, your backyard, at work at school. Wherever; 5) FIGHT off cynicism by staying active in the community; i.e.: volunteering and so on. And, finally, 6) DISMISS being jaded: yes, you can talk about issues and problems in society without becoming jaded: all you have to do is state the problem, then right away start seeking solutions. Good luck, everyone! Being an optimist is seeing problems/issues/crises for whatever they are: opportunities to improve life!
