The Nintendo Wii Unboxing

I’m in the middle of unboxing my Nintendo Wii - a full year or more after everyone else unboxed theirs. I think I’m the last Geek on Earth to have one. The packaging on this thing is really cool, and was fun to play with. I didn’t go out and buy a ton of games, as I’m only a casual gamer. It did, of course, come with the Wii Sports Disc. I’m looking forward to playing baseball and such.
Wii is not just a gaming console, it’s a reason to get together with your friends and family and play today’s hottest games. Wii offers legendary Nintendo franchises like Mario, Zelda and Metroid, as well as all new classics like Wii Sports and Wii Play. Create your own Mii character to star in Wii games. Play friends online over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection or use the Internet Channel to surf the net from your sofa. You can even download classic Nintendo games using the Wii Shop Channel. Take a look around and see why your TV is not complete without Wii.
My Wii, as all do, came with the following:
- Wii Sports Disc
- Wii Console
- Wii Remote
- Nunchuck
- Wii Sensor Bar
- Wii Console Stand
- Wii AC Adaptor
- Wii AV Cable
Ack! I cut myself! I got a Wii little cut on my Wii! See? There’s even a Wii bit of blood there! OOOooooooOOOOWII.
You can, of course, surf the Web with your Wii. Go ahead… pull up our live stream from your machine.

Asking which is the best Wii game is like asking which is the best car? It really depends on what you’re looking for. For single player games, you might try Mario Galaxy, Zelda: Twilight Princess, or Metroid Prime: Corruption. For multi-player, you might want to try Warioware: Smooth Moves, or one of the Rayman: Raving Rabbids games.
As for accessories, pick up another controller and nunchuck (so you can play boxing against Ponzi), and get a pack of rechargeable AA batteries. Most other accessories aren’t worth the money.

Well unfortunately at the current point in time you can’t look at your live stream on the Wii because the Internet Channel only has Flash 7 and I think you need Flash 8 or 9 to view your stream.
Also that memory card port you were looking at was for GameCube memory cards for when you’re playing GameCube games so it doesn’t come with one, and the Wii has internal memory like all other game consoles so you’d only need a SD card if you wanted to backup your saves.

Did you ever have a Game Cube? I didn’t so the first thing I got for the Wii was a classic controller and Rebel Assault 2 and 3. I got both games and the controller for around $30.

It’s not JUST for gamecube. You can store pictures, music, videos, and VC games on an SD card and use it on the Wii too.

How useful is the PS3’s Sixaxis? Does it add a lot to games, or does it still feel like a rushed copy of the Wiimote? I’d like to think that the PS3 could get developers to utilise it.

you dont need a memory card. It has a built in harddrive. If you want extra memory get an 8GB sd card for 40 bucks and add an exta 50,000 blocks on. The stuff on the top is for the gamecube.
