Norton vs. AVG One really hooks in the system slows it down considerably and the other does not. Both provide about the same protection. One is cheaper than the other. It sounds more like you guys just get tired of actually helping people. It happens to all of us, you just get tired of answering the same questions over and over again. I am glad that this attitude has not infected all the participants of this fine group as many are still quite helpful in the IRC channel. How do you figure Anti-virus software is the same.

Lifetime warranty pretty much means company is pretty sure about it's products. Never buy products that don't have warranty and you are not 100% about their quality. Also, companies do differ. Some have different policies, some have better quality and some have better customer service. Google everything you buy, that way you won't be surprised if there's trouble. While saying "look for the features you want" is nice and all... there's also lots of features that aren't listed on the box - like reliability, invasiveness, quality and aesthetics to name a few. These are things that non-technical people often have trouble evaluating prior to purchase. That's why sites like Newegg are a godsend. The user comments frequently provide more information than is on the box ("Such as, the packaging for this RAM is so terrible that I broke the stick trying to get it out!" or realizing that Symantec's products are absolute crap as of late). Maybe I'm just mis-interpreting this post. But uh… they are all different.
