The Highest Bidder

“I've been selling on Ebay about 3 years. Contacting any bidder if they are not bidding on your own stuff because you have the item cheaper is a BIG no-no, and is stated in TOS as a reason for suspension if you're caught. Also links to a Web site are not allowed unless it is information about the item being sold. In December, I noted my Web site in an auction (not even a link) and got 50 auctions cancelled only hours before they were due to close. I thot it was okay as long as it was not a link – WRONG! Some nice person reported me. A seller in my category always uses 'WOW' and 'AWESOME' and 'LOOK' and several such annoying catch words in his heading, and his auctions always fetch higher prices than anyone else's. He also uses big pictures. When it comes to the auctions, very few rules really apply, except: (1) have a good clear photo; (2) if necessary, and describe the item to the best of your ability; (3) be reasonable with shipping; (4) be accessible; (5) pack well and; (5) ship quickly.” [Candy Pemberton]

Does it say why we can't link to non-relevant sites?

It's supposed to prevent circumvention of eBay fees. This way people can't provide a link to buy another of the item they're selling on eBay from their own website… if the person buys from the seller's website directly instead of the eBay auction, eBay loses money.

Ah, ok, I see. Thanks.
