The logistics of comunication from Rome to the Fronteirs became significant. The Frontier Romans (FR) (nearly all were natives) had significant self rule. They prospered greatly when compared to the nearby relatives outside the Fronteir that were not Romans (NRs). The population of FRs grew while under the Roman influences of Law, Pax and Trade.FRs migrated to NR lands taking Roman Laws. NRs learned of Roman advantages from trade with FRs. The NRs began to prosper and grow too. Trade and culture between the FRs and the NRs began to out -shine the glory of Rome.Rome was happy and worried. The NRs were became an expansion of Roman influence and a shield from Barbarians. The NRs and the FRs could unite for total self-rule.Events occurred to promote the common defence and unity of NRs and FRs. Barbaring threats.....promoting a decentralization of rule to better logistics of communication partly to respond to military threats.

Rome had expanded too far. Then through hook or crook they would conspire for a way to take over their governments thru war,of one sort or another, often betraying treaties and friendships, such as, what they did to the Greeks,of whom most Romans admired and even tried to emulate such as wearing the togas.Which eventually resulted in acquiring the catapult which gave them the power to do there damnest to their neighbors all over Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. But it was the subjection of the defeated tribal societies with the advent of life-time slavery which turned the females and the children into the slaves of the men of their tribe, now known as patriachy, who were themselves direct slaves of the Romans. This gave the right of life or death to the men in familys and Roman soldiers to all slaves. Thus resulting in the basis of the "master-slave syndrome" today; and to which, I attribute, the elitism of the religous popes and royalty of the kings who claimed devine rights just as the roman emporiors and such that started most of the wars and misery of the last 2000 years.

It is my understanding of the Roman Empire that they didn’t invent hardly a thing. That their conquoring of the ‘then known world’ was instigated by the Roman enterpreniors who desired the technologies that had been invented by the tribal societies, of whom they became envious of when observing their technological wonders while trading with them. I heard the same comparison made when I was in high school back in 1981. It was also a common comparison back in the 50's. Oh yeah, and the 60's and the 70's.I think we're closer to the British Empire; Very well meaning but not very good at listening. Far too self-righteous. Almost a kind of adolesence. Hope we mature in a big hurry.

Not the first time we’ve been compared to the Roman Empire.
