The Brad is Back
Remember HomeSite? Nick Bradbury leaped onto the software scene with his fantastic HTML editor several years ago (which Macromedia eventually swallowed). I expected nothing less than perfection with TopStyle, his CSS editor for both style sheet newbies and fanatics. It's what I recommended to Robert when he wanted to dive head-first into the world of legacy-free happiness. Nick even went as far as to put an option in the View menu that'll take users directly to the TopStyle blog. Here's a programmer who really “gets it.” Need further proof? He's aiming to release FeedDemon, what appears to be the ultimate news aggregator for the Windows platform. Check out the screen shots and you'll see what I mean. Integration with Feedster, Technorati-style link discovery, and (most importantly) a somewhat-uncluttered UI. Expect a beta download by the end of May, but until then, I suggest flooding his news server with feature requests for what you want to see in a desktop client.
Optimize 3.0 is an excellent tool to have in your arsenal. Use it to clean up your computer, free up space by removing junk files, and to generally speed up your computer. You spend a lot of time using your machine... don't you want it to run at its optimum speed and efficiency?

Stil use HomeSite and TopStyle for tweaking my site and making quick changes. HomeSite is by far the best WYSIWYG editor ever for HTML. Of course some will argue that you can't beat note pad…blah!

I started using Homesite when it was in version 1.2. Since then that's all I have used as it went to Allaire and then Macromedia.
FeedDemon is in good hands.

Jason: Can HomeSite be even classified as a WYSIWYG? HomeSite is a powerful text editor but offers no drag and drop “build the site as you see it” like FrontPage does.

WAIT! The guy that brought me Homesite – which I still love and adore and use ver. 3 of sometimes when not using Notepad – is the creator of TopStyle too??? Get out! Now I must try it. Well, if I ever get over my irrational CSS phobia and my eyes stop bleeding from it…

TopStyle freakin' rocks.
I use it whenever I make skins for my site.
I just wish there was a Mac version (There is stylemaker, but I didn't like it as much as I do TopStyle).

Brad's TopStyle 3 looks amazing! I'll have to save up my pennies… I've always preferred editing as text instead of WYSIWYG. Comes from my “old school” DOS background I guess.

I have been using TopStyle for more than a year. It is one of those cases where a program is worth every penny and then some. The ability to change style definitions to help check browser compatibility alone has saved me hours upon hours of time. I can't wait to see what else this guy does.

Damn, do you know the guy who did HomeSite? That editor is by far one of the absolute best ones around! I STILL use Macromedia CF Studio 5 because it IS HomeSite with some extras! That dude needs to go to Gnomedex so I can have the chance to kiss his ass!

I love Homesite. I will use nothing else (except maybe Notepad) and TopStyle is a must. I always make sure to spread the love.

Avant is just a wrapper around the IE rendering engine..still subject to any security holes that IE is subject too.
But I still recommend it to people who are afraid of too much change.
