Ten Reasons to Have a Live Video Stream
With a great amount of encouragement (not only from her own community, but from me as well), I think Ponzi is finally going to give YouTube a go. She’s set up her own channel and has uploaded her first video – taken on her own Flip camcorder a few weeks ago. The clip is hilarious. Scroll down for the embed, or start by reading my top ten list of live webcam uses:
- Point it over your shoulder for a “rear view” mirror
- Use it to keep an eye on your child / husband
- Security (either when you’re at home or away)
- Point it at your mailbox to know when the day’s delivery is done
- Capture personal bloopers and disgusting habits
- Keep an eye on the stove, but not necessarily to watch pots
- Watch television / listen to radio from another room
- Remote aquarium enjoyment
- Front door monitor to avoid magazine salespeople
- Watch for interesting-looking clouds

I thought this was hilarious and very cute! I probably would do the same thing if I had a husband in a box. Well done, Ponzi!
Very entertaining!

Ha! I have my husband-in-a-box via video chat while he is at work and I’m home with the kids. Now my 2 year old will sometimes point to the monitor and say “DA DA. SEE.” Now, if I could only get my husband to run the 24/7 camera!

You can also use it as a doggy day watch. If you have pets at your home that stay indoors why not watch them on a live feed? It’s very practical.

I think for the large “general” demographic, a live video stream would be most usefull as a security camera.

I think its great to have a livestream but I think its going to feel like you are belong monitered and feel like you can’t do anything because people are watching you. Thats just how I feel about it. But I also think that after time I think you can get used to it when time goes on, just like chris pirillo

Hey Chris,
Thanks for the tips I will make sure I take them into count. I myslef am trying to start up a live video feed like you have. I allready have a accont on ustream.tv and I have just bought a website all I have to do now is get it finalized and get a webcam. I know is sounds dumb not already having one but I am just trying to find the right one. Thanks for the help.

I would like to have a TV in a box as you said. I also have a stream talking about tech and other things. I would like to shrink my TV and make it look all cute… LOL.
